PlaySEGA Officially Announced- Some Old School Classics RevealedToday, PlaySEGA was officially announced by way of a press release, which will soon be spreading to all media sites across the web. If you read the blog, you are likely aware of the games, the rings, avatars & escapes, and other major features. If you haven’t yet heard, then head over to the site and read the full press release to learn more. In addition to the launch announcement, a few of the classic SEGA games to appear on PlaySEGA were also revealed. Games like Columns™, Puyo Pop™, Chu Chu Rocket™, Sonic The Hedgehog™ and Super Monkey Ball Tip n’ Tilt™ are on their way and we even have a few more that we can’t yet discuss! Speaking as a hardcore SEGA fan, the addition of these classics is certainly exciting news. I’m such a die hard Chu-Chu fan, I can’t wait to get my hands on it, even though I know it’ll be the end of work productivity. We’re also really interested in what our fans are thinking about the site, the recent news, and the upcoming classics to be available. If you’ve got something on your mind, let us know and add a comment below or head to our forums and chat with our SEGA community!

I read this on the forums, and I feel like saying this again this is great news. I really enjoyed Chu Chu Rocket and I’m a Sonic fan. Chu Chu Rocket was my first GBA game, weeks after I bought it for Dreamcast. I even play Sonic 1 on my GameCube (Sonic Mega Collection), GBA, and cell phone. It will be great to play these in my web browser on my computer.

As a matter of fact I have allot to say on the subject of PlaySega.
PlaySega to me is a great idea and can be so much more!
The games available now are fine but nothing thats going to make me keep coming back to the site… I think they should all be put into their own section called ‘Mini games’ or ‘Free games’ because you cannot charge people for these… In that sub section then they could be split as they are now into genres.
Then on the main pages along with ‘free/mini games’ section you should put a button for another Section ‘SEGA CLASSICS’ once inside they find buttons to different Sega consoles; Master System, Mega Drive, Sega CD, GameGear.. maybe even some simple Saturn and Dreamcast games!!
Another button on the main page should be for bigger and better browser games these, days there are some really great multiplayer browser games out there Rune Scape for example… But I have seen others… an unreleased game called ‘Infinity:Quest for Earth’ is really amazing… If you could get some games like these… Maybe some first person shooters… MMOs… RTS… That would be well worth paying for! Look at games like Battle Field Heroes! You should have stuff like that.
What about a section where we can download Direct to Drive Sega PC games like Steam?
What about a Demo section? Let us download demos of your up coming PC games?
—
Next up lets talk about the other features, At the mo I don’t have much desire to visit my escape or anyone else for that matter… The escape design should be mere look and feel not the main appeal…
What about adding the ability to have a profile like Myspace, likes and dislikes… A comment wall for people to leave comments?! What about a the ability to keep a Diary or just leave your thoughts for the day. Upload pictures and artwork?
How about an Instant Messager service like MSN? Why not? Sega had one before!
—-
Finally, Advertising and getting new members could be as easy as pie… All you need to do is print little cards and put them in the cases of every Sega game you sell… It’ll say what Play Sega is, what features it has and so on and on the back it should offer a little code for ‘FREE RINGS’ as an insentive for people to check it out!
Do Something like this and you’ll have thousands and thousands of memebers in no time…
