New York Comic Con Links & Tweets

Reviews, interviews, and tweets from New York Comic Con are rolling in. Here’s what we’ve found so far:

G4 loves Madworld, calling it “tight” and “a piece of black-and-white art”.

Nintendo World Report tweets that the SEGA booth is the booth of the show.

Gaming Bits posts their interview with Madworld’s Producer and Director.

Article Dan calls Madworld an “ultra-violent graphic horror-fest like none other”.

Twitter user Sickr hears that our presence at NY Comic Con is “unprecedented”.

1UP catches some photos of the SEGA booth (photos 5-7).

And one non-NYCC related link – PS3 Attitude is auctioning off a SEGA Mega Drive Ultimate Collection vinyl album, but not just any album. It’s #0001 in the series, with all proceeds going to benefit the Cancer Council of Australia. Hurry! Only one day left to bid.

New York Comic Con 2009: So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

Well, New York Comic Con has come and gone for another year. We had a fantastic time meeting SEGA and Sonic fans of all ages and styles. It was also fantastic to have so many people play (and really enjoy!) the games we have coming up. Today was Kids Day at NYCC, and lots of young Sonic fans came by to try Sonic and the Black Knight, which is shipping on March 3rd. There were lots of enthusiastic shouts of “cool!” and one young man proclaimed it “the best game ever!”.

We also had someone come to the booth with a fantastic Valkyria Chronicles costume. It’s even more impressive because it’s totally homemade from scratch. She got a limited-edition Valkyria art book for her hard work. Thanks again!

Although not a costume, this shirt was also homemade and very impressive. The front says “To be this good takes AGES” and the back has logos for lots of developers. Thanks for stopping by!

Our booth was full of people all day, as many lined up to play all of our games.

We also had a zombie crew on-site to give people free zombie makeovers and pass out comics and shirts.

Denny is our microphone master, seen here announcing signings and happenings at our booth, and throwing t-shirts and SEGA scarves into the crowd.

After all the crowds had gone, it was time for the SEGA crew to tear down our booth. We packed up the Wiis, folded up all the cords, and powered everything off. We all had sore feet and backs, but we’re so glad we came to NYCC to meet everyone.

Once we were done at the show, Ruby and I went out to Junior’s for dinner, but most importantly — for cheesecake! If you haven’t had a slice of Junior’s cheesecake, I can’t recommend it highly enough. (And they ship!) Ruby agreed that it was great, and suggested this photo to document the perfect ending to a great NYCC trip.

Check out all of our photos from New York Comic Con in our Flickr set.

We’re heading home tomorrow. Thanks again to everyone who came to our booth, everyone who answered Phantasy Star trivia, everyone who came in costume, and everyone who played our games. The entire SEGA team had a great time.  Sayounara!

SEGA & NY Comic Con Twitter Roundup

We’re having a blast at New York Comic Con, and it seems like lots of people are having a great time at our booth. If you haven’t stopped by yet, today is your last chance! We’ll have autograph signings with Platinum Games (developers of Madworld) and High Voltage Software (developers of The Conduit), free zombie makeup, and free The House of the Dead: Overkill t-shirts for people who play 3 of our games. There’s still plenty more action at our booth today!

I’ve been trying to keep our twitter feed going with frequent updates, but when the show floor gets crowded, the connection gets really bad. I’ve been poking around, and here’s what people are saying about the SEGA booth and the games we have.

Thanks to everyone who tweeted about our booth! If you tweet about us, or see a NYCC-related article or review about us, please let us know. You can leave the link in the comments or send it to us @segaamerica via reply or DM.
