Game Daily gives Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection an 8/10!Calling it “impressive” and saying that “you’ll get more than your $30 worth”, Game Daily has given Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection an 8/10 for both the X360 and PS3 versions.

You still don’t get an easily-includeable S3&K though…

You have to play Sonic 2 on CO-OP to unlock Phantasy Star.
Forcing people to buy two controllers is cool.

Sega fans are annoyingly bitchy, eh?
Either way, good score. IGN gave it a 9/10.
P.s. No one’s forcing you to do anything Kogen. I hate that you’ve migrated to the Sega blogs now too. Thought I could actually get away from your annoying nonsense.

Nonsense?
I do not have two controllers, how would I be able to play Phantasy Star on this?
Basically I just have to steal it if I want to play it.

You could not be so caustic and eventually you’d find someone to be your friend, and presumably they might let you borrow a controller.

Have you tried reassigning your controller on the XMB after you get to the boss? All you really have to do is jump a few times as tails. I suggest hitting Robotnik for the 8th time with tails to make 100% sure.

I also am dissapointed in the fact that there is no link up capabilities as far as Sonic & Knuckles. But I believe this could easily be fixed with a downloadable add-on. Being that Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic 3 were originally meant to be one game, it only makes sence to have them together. We, as dedicated fans of Sonic desire to play them together, as possibly the best sonic game ever created.

Beyond Oasis. That’s enough for me to buy the pack right there. LOVED that game, taking the Zelda concept to the next level. So when are we going to get a sequel for that one?

Oh boo hiss freakin’ moan. Obviously the reviewers aren’t bellyaching about it, and the reviewers usually bellyache about Sonic EVERYTHING.
It’s the freakin’ Sonic’s Ultimate Genesis Collection not Sonic’s “Everything you can already get on every other Sonic the Hedgehog game compilation EVER for the umpteenth freakin’ time” Collection.
@JOSH PAYNE: It must stink for you that the general public’s opinion about Sonic is so much different from yours, especially considering the general public hasn’t been playing Sonic games for years.
SOA peeps, why do you even accept these kinds of comments in the first place? I mean, it’s obvious censorship and is enough to set off warning alarms in some people’s eyes, but some of us are actually open to the stuff SEGA puts out these days and would much rather have comments from people who might not like what SEGA is doing but actually are intelligent and provide valid points instead of running on sarcasm, bias and fail the entire freakin’ time.

@inaudible : I’m pretty sure you made no actual cohesive statement there. I can’t even tell if you’re for or against…anything…
what!?

iNAUDiBLE, I think what you’re asking is why we allow negative comments on the blog. I think it’s important to allow all points of view, even negative ones. We don’t live in a bubble or a crystal house. Unless a comment contains profanity, harassment, racism, etc then there’s no reason for us not to allow it. Although we’d love for everyone to love our products and everything we do all the time, I think even the most die-hard SEGA fan would admit that’s probably impossible. We can learn just as much, if not more, from the people who disagree with us. We want to continually improve, and the best way to do that is to really listen to our fans and their criticism. It’s disingenuous for us to moderate blog comments in a way that only let through the positive ones.

Kellie, I was banned from the Sega of America forums for saying that Sega don’t listen to their fans… ironic much?

Sharky, that’s not why you were banned.

I just got the collection a little while ago (a few days after release) and I have not played a thing since getting it. I don’t know if that’s a good or bad sign, but I don’t care, I’m thoroughly enjoying it either way.
Certainly worth the price of admission, I think.

I think this score is fair, but GameStop gave 10/10.
I am really happy about this game.
It includes most of my favorite games:
Sonic the Hedgehog 1,2, and 3, spinball, flicky, columns, streets of rage 1,2 and many more…
But it miss alot of games that weren’t produced by SEGA, but were published by SEGA.
I mean come on, if SEGA published those games that means it has license to them!
And I am pretty SAD about “& Knucles”! I think this is the reason why this game didn’t get 10/10! And whats wrong with unlocktables! It is almost impossible to unlock Space Harrier, Fantazy Zone, and some Interviews!
PLZ REPLY!

Has there been any hint at DLC? Is it even in the codecs of the game to offer it? I would love to see Strider again…..
