SEGA Announces Resonance of Fate!Just announced – quite literally – a few seconds ago, SEGA of America and SEGA of Europe have revealed that Resonance of Fate, known as End of Eternity in Japan, will be making its way to the west in Spring 2010!
The game’s developers, Tri-Ace, are a name you should be familiar with if you know anything about your JRPGs. This is actually the first time in history they’ve fully partnered up with a publisher other than Enix/Square-Enix, and their past roster of games – like Star Ocean and Valkyrie Profile – are a very good benchmark for the quality of games their team pumps out.
What’s the story behind Resonance of Fate? Curious fans will have to wait just a bit longer (or read Famitsu) to get into the real meat of it – but until then, we’ll let you entertain your imagination with a few screenshots to couple with the announcement.
The game will be releasing for both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, so all you next-gen console owners are set. You can also check out the full set of initial screenshots here on our Flickr page. How do you guys think the game looks so far? Are you fans of any past Tri-Ace titles?

I’m not really sure the name change was entirely necessary (Resonance of Fate actually seems MORE “Japanese” to me than End of Eternity), but whatever, haha.

I thought the exact same thing. Considering that “End of Eternity” is already in English to begin with, I too don’t really understand the change.

Very cool. but like others have said the name change wasn’t really necessary. In any event, hope the game turns out great. More to the point I hope the story is great.

The game looks great, love my RPGs, but the name change is kinda meh. =\
Resonance of Fate just doesn’t sound as good as End of Eternity.

The environments I’ve seen in other screenshots look magical. I can’t wait.

I like this name better, but I think name changing only confuses people and could hurt sales so… Keeping the same name in all areas is a much better idea.
Also what was the trade mark for Resonance of Time for I wonder, it was registered at the same time as Resonance of Fate… Maybe a hand held or Wii game in the same universe?

Game looks really interesting, I’m trying to figure out what kind of game mechanics they have going on in some of those shots. Very intriguing!
For the record: I like Resonance of Fate better (End of Eternity sounds like a bad Warcraft guild name, and in fact, it probably is). But so far as changing names/numbers between here and Japan goes, that’s practically a time-honored tradition — if you don’t believe me, track back the different iterations in the FF series between here and there

I’m actually very impressed.
The first picture on this page (fifth if you’re going by the Flickr page) reminds me of the image of the chained up moon from Infinite Undiscovery, without the chains… and the moon.

Wouldn’t doubt it. Y’know.. I almost want to Google it.
Also, Resonance of Fate does sound better… but it also sounds like a subtitle, to me. Almost like if “End of the Millenium” was Phantasy Star IV’s name. It’s cool, though… just seems that way, to me.

I cannot wait for this game
Hopefully, This will stick with the PS3 and XBOX 360 this time
bcuz last time, My hopes were so high for Star Ocean: The Last Hope for the PS3 then suddenly changed for XBOX360 exclusive.
I have a PS3, I’m lovin it
I also have XBOX360, I’m lovin it also
but most games comes out for the XBOX360
and to me, I see my PS3 as a DVD player, not a game console…. and I hate it(but not anymore since a lot of good games are coming out for the PS3)
TO ME! I prefer XBOX 360 as a First Person Shooter
for PS3, RPG games
so please SEGA!! Put another Good History with the PS3
