Virtua Tennis 2009 ships today! (In other news, we have awesome VT Swag)Ah, Tuesdays. Tuesdays are big here at SEGA. For example, today I came into the office and discovered six individual boxes, an apple pie, and a 172 metric tonne blue whale sitting on my desk. It should be obvious which of the three I put my attention to first. One set of keys and lots of destroyed tape later (Note: No, the whale did not have tape around it ), I was staring into six open boxes, and at a whole slew of copies of Virtua Tennis 2009. There’s something fun about having tons of copies of games on your desk – maybe it’s just the glee of the inner gamer in me as I think back to times when I had to work for a week just to afford a single game – having boxes full of them every few months is a neat feeling. Later on in the day, when the blue whale is gone and the apple pie eaten, I package up copies of the game and start sending them out to fansites for review. But this time around, our friends over at SEGA Europe were kind enough to hook us up with some of their VT 2009 swag – and, as we’ve done with Mad World and Valkyria Chronicles, we’re going to see to it that this swag goes out to the people who will truly appreciate it. (That’d be you, hardcore fans!)
Mmm, Swag. We got some pretty sweet stuff in the office. As I explained to a friend of mine earlier today, the batch includes: - VT 2009 finger sweatbands (put them around your favorite pet’s leg(s) for hours of fun) What’s that? You say you want some of this swag? We’ll have all of it going out soon for a number of contests, but in the meantime, we’ll be giving out some free finger sweatbands to the first, fifth, tenth, and twentieth people to comment on this post with: “I get my Grand Slams in Virtua Tennis!” …see what we did there?

I don’t know if I won those fingerbands or what, but I just wanted to leave an actual comment about how pumped I am to pick this game up this week.
Me and my friend used to play VT on Dreamcast all the time. It’s an awesome memory. Now I’m pretty far away from that guy, but we were both talking about how cool it’s going to be to play this over the PSN, like back in the day.

I typed spammed as well and I used “Erik Hansen” but then it says my comments are waiting for moderation so idk what wrong with that, but once they get approved I would be the winner since i made it so that #20 would actually be Ron’s comment of “Here I go” and my comment with the phrase would be #21, so once they get approved I would win, although I am thinking it might be because I used a last name aswell cause I notice everyone else just used one name instead of first and last, so that is why I am trying out jsut my first name “Erik”

The moderation queue probably confused things a little, but I’ve just finished approving all the comments and deleting any spam. The 20th comment and the final set of finger sweatbands go to James!
Even if you didn’t nab the good this time around, keep an eye out in our VT forum, here on the SEGA Blog, and on our Virtua Tennis Facebook and Twitter pages – we’ve got all sorts of cool stuff, including that jacket, going out in the very near future.
In the meantime, I’m going to hop back to playing some of the actual game. Gotta practice up…
