Free Stuff Friday Twitter Giveaway for 8/7/09The US team’s week for the Free Stuff Friday giveaway via Twitter is here again! If you’ve never participated in our giveaway, or never used Twitter before, don’t fret. There are full instructions at the bottom of this blog. As we just returned from San Diego Comic Con, we’ve got some great exclusives for you from the show floor. Here’s our video for the week, including my first appearance! Helping us out this week were two members of our web development team — Jackie is in the Shadow hat helping me with the poster, and Marj was working the camera this week. Thanks to both of them!
On the BlockEveryone is eligible to win all prizes this week. Item 1: Limited Edition Iron Man 2 Poster from Comic Con, signed by Jon Favreau First up is a limited edition Iron Man 2 game poster from Comic Con. These were hot items in the Marvel booth after Iron Man 2 demos, but we managed to snag one for you. It’s made more special by the addition of Jon Favreau‘s signature. He was gracious enough to sign posters during his behind-closed-doors look at the game during Comic Con. Sorry, it’s hard to get a photo of the entire poster without glare from our overhead lights. Congrats to our winner, @mikeypc! Item 2: Comic Con Exclusive Metal Sonic Figurine Also a Comic Con exclusive, this is a Metal Sonic toy (not made of metal) was for sale on the show floor at Comic Con. We each snagged one, and we got an extra for our giveaway. Congrats to @KriticaLHitts! Item 3: Tails Plush For all the Tails fans in the house, we’ve got a Tails plush doll just for you! Congrats to our winner, @Tabenya! Item 4: Sonic Comic #56, signed by Ken Penders More great stuff from Comic Con! We found Ken Penders in Artists’ Alley, and we got several Sonic comics from him, all signed. This is the first of them, and we’ll have more in future giveaways. This comic is well-protected in a plastic sleeve. Congrats to @andre_bla! Item 5: Knuckles Hat and Gloves
Congrats to our winner, @godoi96!
Item 6: High Voltage Software signed art book and shirt Our final set for giveaway this week is a limited edition concept art book for The Conduit, signed by all of the High Voltage Software team. In addition, you’ll get a High Voltage t-shirt, size 2XL. Congrats to @Rosebud11413! How it Works1. You must be following us on Twitter to be eligible. (If you don’t have a Twitter account, you can create one by going to http://www.twitter.com and click the green “get started — join!” button in the center of the page.) Make Sure We’re Following You on TwitterIf you are currently following us on Twitter, please be sure that we are following you as well. You can do this by making sure that SEGA is in your “followers” list, or by going to DoesFollow and typing SEGA in the first blank, your Twitter username in the second, and pressing the “check” button. You can reverse this to be sure that you are following us. If you are following us, but we’re not following you, please send a message to @SEGA and we will follow you. This is important, because only people we follow can send us direct messages (DMs), and DMs are the only way to enter the giveaways. How to Send Direct Messages on TwitterThere are a few ways to send us a Direct Message on Twitter. The easiest way is to go to our Twitter page and select “message” under the “Actions” heading in the side bar. If you do not see “message”, this means that we are not following you. Please send a message to @sega to let us know, and we will follow you. When you click “message” you will be taken to a window where you can type a message and press send. You may also select the “direct messages” tab from your Twitter homepage, and select SEGA from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Again, if you don’t see our name there, it’s probably because we’re not following you. Let us know, and we’ll follow you. There are also many Twitter clients that you can use instead of using the website. These include TweetDeck, Twitteriffic, Tweetie, and Twhirl. Each of these programs works differently, so you’ll want to figure out how to send a direct message on the program you use. If you want to send us a test message, we’ll let you know if we received it or not.
