yeah folks - i know you start hating to hear bout that...but...

Shenmue... still my favourite game ever... and of millions of other people too! will the story ever continue? or will sega let the fans of the saga die without knowing how the saga goes on? ...why should they? the game has hugh potential to be a big seller... just if they wont keep making those mistakes in theyr marketing in the future. many people did not even know such a game even exists! Open up the last chapters of shenmue, and bring Shenmue back to life.

Off course Shenmue Online did not work - the story was never meant to be a roleplay game... the people of sega shall sit down... switch on the dreamcast and replay shenmue... and think again, why they should lay down to rest the unfinished saga... more than ever the people will love it. never before and never after been a game which was like shenmue...

...nice review of Shenmue 1 & 2

The Dreamcast is seriously one of my favorite systems. I'm a big fan of Sega and it's a really big shame that this console got so little spotlight and became obsolete way too fast. It was unquestionably WAY ahead of its time. Online gameplay, VMUs, one of the first to use discs, the list goes on. I was 8 years old when my parents bought me my dreamcast and I instantly loved it. I think I was too young to appreciate the online capabilities it had to offer, but I was enthralled with the quality of the games they produced. I have a great collection of DC games that I really enjoy and still play with my little brother on ocassion. Even the "Generator" demo disc that came with the system provided countless hours of entertainment for me. I'm just waiting for the day that Sega realizes they need to make another console. Their fanbase is large and solid, and I think they would do very well to go back into the console business. I know I and probably everyone on this page would buy one. I want that special Sega feeling back in me. I want to remember what it feels like to really, REALLY enjoy playing a game, like I used to. Until then I'll stick to Nintendo.

PS: You should add this Dreamcast anniversary tribute to your post:

Congratulations Dreamcast! Even though SEGA pulled the life support from you a long time ago, your heart still beats in your diehard fans! The under-appreciated console lives on!

I miss the innovation that was synonymous with Dreamcast. I find myself becoming less and less interested in videogames of late, and I can't help but think that things would be different if the wacky, creative, interesting games the Dreamcast had in droves were more successful.

If only more people were interested in the imaginative; interested in the playfully different.

I suppose more action games with tired gimmicks and stale FPS's with thoughtless, bland stories are what the public wants.

Sega made videogames the closest to an artful media during the DC era. It's all downhill from here folks.

I had a Dreamcast night tonight with my Dreamcast (some Slave Zer0 and then up to Stage 8 in Sonic Adventure).

I started with a Genesis in the late 90s. And visited the Sega website every now and then. One day i pasted by it, and suddenly it was white and had a swirl made of "9-9-99" 's [ill never forget that date]. Soon after. I found out the new Sega, the Dreamcast was coming out. I got it and Sonic Adventure. My first 3d game, and my first real console. And the time i become a real gamer. The Dreamcast taught me, initiated me into the gamer world. My 2nd Sonic, but my 1st RPG (Evolution) and 2 of the greatest RPGs that i've ever played (Grandia II and Skies of Arcadia). My first action/shooter game (Slave Zer0), and the first fighter i owned (Mortal Kombat Gold). Plus tons of fun online with my Dreamcast keyboard. And listening to my music on TV.

I cant thank Sega enough for making the Dreamcast that changed me. If not for gaming, i would be the individual that types here now. And i cant thank you enough for the Dreamcast, there is no possible way. I can see the love and pure, true effort that went into this little white machine. And i still and will always respect you for it.

[i really am tearing up] thank you. it got me thinking.
