Hello from SEGA!
As promised, Monday is here and we’ve got new details about our first ever Play With SEGA! Event, this time featuring Phantasy Star Zero! First up, the event details:
Event Details:
- Who: Anyone with a copy of Phantasy Star Zero and internet access!
- When: Tuesday, Nov. 17th, from 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM Pacific time!
- Where: That magical place we call the internet.
How to sign up for the event
- First, check to make sure you can attend and will be free at the time the event begins tomorrow!
- Second, take a look at the open brackets (We have different difficulties up for different players) and figure out who you’d ideally like to play with!
- Once you’re decided, post here on the blogs with your PSZ name, your friend code, and the party you’d like to jump in! Please also provide an alternate party, just in case your first choice gets filled!
Parties will fill up on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to get your comments in fast! We will be posting our SEGA Friend codes here on this blog on Tuesday, so be sure to check back often to see if you made the list, and if so, to add the others who will be in your group!

Mountain time – I grew up in Central time, it’s 6:17 Central, 5:17 Mountain, and 4:17 Pacific as of right now.

hey ruby,i was just wondering about the levels for things: you unlock hard at 30,very hard at 60.But at level 30 the enemies are dificult,was it designed to be unlocked at those levels but to actually be able to hold your own in battle a tad higher?

Kale – the higher you up go the better. I’ll be grinding out some levels (for the third time!) tonight to make sure my party is set. If not, I can always just grab my Japanese char instead.
Para – The SEGA Employee will host the party promptly at 4:00 PM Pacific (6:00 Central, 7:00 Eastern) tomorrow. We will update this Blog post with the SEGA Friend Codes at least an hour earlier. At 4:10 PM, or whenever all members arrive, the play session will begin!

I just spoke with our online team and we are about to add in two more parties!
Once those two parties are full, I think that will be our limit for the event. We’ve added in almost 6 parties more than I planned, but for great reason – there’s apparently a ton of you guys out there with the game!

Well group 6 just got finished. Was a pretty nice first experience chock full of monster killing, although we couldn’t go to the later areas and we were a member short. On the upside, I got to experience the “NO U” and “WEEGEE” chat bubbles.
I wouldn’t mind seeing more of these Play with SEGA! events.

I had a bunch of fun in group 11 and wouldn’t mind seeing something like this again. I feel bad for Nilam since he kept getting d/c’d and Dan never showed up, so Evan and I tackled the first 3 zones together! Luckily Nilam didn’t get d/c’d until after we found an Arena, so that was good for him.

lol I think a little more organization is needed next time like… level ranges and stuff. However we shouldn’t despair since this was the first time and everyone is learning what we could do better for a second time

This was a great bunch of fun and I hope that we can get together and do this again sometime… I’ll probably start playing more regularly so people should look me up or PM in the Sega Forums (OldDirtyGamer) and let me know when you’re free so that I can look you guys up and play a few quests from time to time… Mitts, I’m sorry we missed you and so we’ll have to do something together at some point. Yamishi and Rayzidd carried me a great deal of the time (me being a miniscule 5th level when we started) but it was great fun. I’d do this again for sure (after I kicked Ruby a few times, just because ^_^)…

Ah, that was a ton of fun. Special thanks to Party 1 and Party 10 for some fantastic adventures through hard mode!
A few of us here at SEGA got hit by some firewall issues, and I know a few people out there arrived late – don’t worry though, if you guys really liked this event, and would like to see more, I’ll swing it by the team and see if we can host another in the future, this time with more focused brackets and a bit more lead time on friend codes. Just let us know!
Hope everyone that joined in had an awesome time – I know we did.

Ok. Just finished recently, and came back here. Had a good time. Though there was only 2 of us. The group got started about 15 minutes after the starting time waiting for the other folks. Still, had some good runs of the first three areas and it was kind of like being the good ol’ support and attack force I was back in Phantasy Star Online again. I had a few character macros for Lord Ferro (my character) and did a few different areas.
Still, we need to do this again. The events, like this, are a great idea. Was hoping Kellie and I would’ve found a rare encounter (particularly in that ice map, since I’ve run across the rare boss setup there before). Anyway, sorry that we missed Wildarms and templarpaladin. I still have you guys on my FC list. We should play together, sometime.

Also, I have to admit. Though the map configuration was random. There were a couple of real smart setups. For one, a very deadly spike trap you had to get past, which just happened to have ice traps right by it in order to freeze people who try to run over the spike trap thinking their timing was safe. Considering the area we were in, I wasn’t expecting that, but it seems multiplayer pulls up more tricks.
They also put in the good ol’ multiplayer puzzle switches just for the amount of players in the game. And last but not least, the good ol’ puzzles where trap vision comes into play. Multiple Switches that are needed to open something, but some of them are decoys to land you into a trap. That stuff reeks of PSO nostalgia.

Glad to hear some people had a good time. Our group had issues where Rich came on late and had connection issues too. Also his character was out of our level range unfortunately and communication was a bit difficult since he didn’t have a stylus. I don’t blame him though, it seemed like he’s been busy so he didn’t have much time to prepare.
