1. 50 rings were required to make the giant ring appear that takes you to the bonus level. The giant ring also counts as 1 ring itself right before your score is counted.

Please SEGA. I want to see Silver again, that is if you can fit him into the story without making any plot holes. Since he is from the future it is hard to fit him into the story without potentially messing up a few things (look up the Blue Emerald Paradox for Sonic 2006). He’s one of the few with a strong sense of justice and he’s my favorite character because of that. I’d also like to request Mighty the Armadillo. We haven’t seen him in a while. The Chaotix team from that rare Knuckles Chaotix game came back in Sonic Heroes and have stayed around for a while now. I think Mighty should be back in. I’d also like to see Bean the Dynamite, Bark the Polar Bear, Fang the Sniper (or Nack the Weasel), Robot Eggman, Cyber Knuckles, and especially Tails Doll again. It’d be great if you could bring all the characters together again, fill in all the plotholes, great directing and animation, inspiring and driving music, have references back to older games, and take your time to write out an amazing long story. Maybe 3 games long if you want to. Having it all in one game would feel too short. Stuff like that does make money, but if you take your time then it gets you even more.
Have Eggman become more competent. Shouting his plans and what he’s going to do only hurts him. Some trickery and deception is always good for a villain. Watch “Kikaider 01 The Animation.” The villain, Professor Gil, goes beyond an average villain and doesn’t make the same mistakes they make. Rather than Eggman just send a few robots against Sonic at a time, why doesn’t Eggman just wait to build a stronger army and send them all at the same time against Sonic and his friends? Those sorts of things. Common mistakes that many villains make. They wait too long and when they do have the power to take out the hero, they don’t do it. They just wait. Think these things out for him. Have Eggman wait for a reason. Maybe he needs to use Sonic and his friends to achieve his goal?
I’d also like to see Tails and Knuckles get a little more recognition. We see them there all the time but they’ve kind of taken the backseat for a long time. Tails is pretty much just another assistant now but he used to be a great asset to Sonic. I’d like to see him save Sonic’s hide rather than just help him again. Knuckles also used to be the big cool guy rival of Sonic’s back then. But when Shadow showed up he got pushed back a long way. Don’t get me wrong. I like Shadow, but it pushed Knuckles’ place back a lot and made the relationship between him and Sonic kind of mechanical. Maybe Knuckles should enter a little period of doubt and leave Sonic’s group for a while? Maybe Tails could do something similiar? Still stay in the group but still have something similiar? For everyone for that matter. It gives a deeper look into the characters, can be potential to add much more needed story, carves a good story, could add some intensity, depth, and morality to the story, everyone comes back together to make for a great ending, etc.
Having universal messages to the story makes the game awesome as well. Adding more emotion can help as well. Not just mechanical, bare-bone, needed emotion to move the story along but real emotion and thought to build everyone. A journey of self-discovery for everyone would be fantastic. Symbolism is always good too.
I’d write more but I think I’ve said enough for one post. What started as a simple request turned into something much longer. I’ll be back. I’d really like to see you guys do this.

Shadow died in SA2, it was supposed to end there. But you brought this filler character back!? He steals all the spotlight from Sonic, heck he even got his own game!?

Mr. Needlemouse sounds stupid and I’m guessing it’s another Chip clone. Needlemouse? C’mon SEGA you can be more creative than that.

I see Sonic,Shawdow and Amy being playable. That being said I hope Sonic is not the only playable charater because IMO it’s boring. I like playing as the other charater as well. It helps give the game replayability.(i beat it with Sonic now to do the same with Shadow,Amy,ect.)

..chips completely sucks. why don’t you end with these games that aren’t sonic at all? why don’t you proceed to the way of sonic the hedgehog 2006 without release a beta full of bugs? i think that it was criticized because, the only failure of that game wasn’t the style but the carelessly when it was developed. story was full of plot holes, music really annoing… and the damned zebrahead.
please make a sonic 06 remake!

Anyway, please sega just make it old school sonic, dont use any of these new characters from the 3d era tha helped diminish sonic.
Just put Sonic as a playable character and if there is co op play then just use Tails and Knuckles/Please dont mess this up and remember that you guys said last year that you wanted to make a sonic game for us oldschool sonic fans from the genesis days, so make this 2d game for us and leace the 3d crap games for those kids from today.

Now, my opinion about those characters. And in numbered parts, please !

1: Sonic is… kinda obvious.

2: An appearance of Shade would be pretty interesting, considering Sonic Chronicles’s story is interesting but nobody’s sure if it really happened. You know, this game changed lots of things in the Sonicverse: the 2 years gap, the time Sonic and his friends weren’t in their world anymore, Knuckles not being the last echidna anymore, Eggman’s world domination… I don’t see Shade as a playable character, however.

3: Big hurling “WHERE ARE YOU, FROGGY????” at every meter ? No thanks, if I want to hurt myself I can slap myself.

4: Froggy… Playable… … … It would be funny if he was one of the last ones to not be crossed.

5: Charmy, flying through the level at the ultimate speed of extreme sound… Nah.

6: Vector could be interesting, as “the powerful character replacing Knuckles”.

7: Sonic’s old design as a new character ? I hope that no. Not only it would be unoriginal, but Sonic doesn’t need a new friend at each game.

8: Amy has a hammer. Amy was in the first Sonic games. Amy is a good character. YES.

9; Chip says “Hi!” from the center of the Earth.

10: Tikal playable ? Why not ?

11: SHADOW HAS TEH GUN, HE IS TEH D4RKNESS, WE NE3D HIM. More seriously, he’d play too much like Sonic. And I have enough of his Chaos powers, it makes him too “overpowered”.

Now, knowing only 6 characters will be left playable, I’ll gues they’ll be:

-Sonic
-Tikal
-Amy
-Vector
-Shadow (ugh…)
-Mr. Needlemouse

…Aren’t 6 characters a bit too much ? Games like New Super Mario Bros. Wii or LittleBigPlanet only have 4 characters that plays the same, and they’re selling well. I don’t say 6 characters playing differently would be bad, but it sounds a bit big for a platforming game.

Since chances are there will only be 4-6 playable characters, I might as well state my opinion too…

1. Sonic. He’s definitely there.
2. Shadow is Sonic’s rival, so he’s also in there.
3. Shade appeared in one game and became an instant hit.
4. People are obsessed with Amy and her Piko Piko hammer.
5. Charmy? Hmmmmmm…. maybe. He a bit TOO hyper though…
6. The project is called “Needlemouse”, but just because doesn’t cut Mr. Needlemouse into the game as playable. If he’s in the game at all, sure.
UNLOCKABLE A- Tikal would be a pretty neat unlockable story mode/character for multiplayer, we don’t see enough of her.
UNLOCKABLE B- Vector. I dunno why. I think he’s awesome.

Charecters:
1.I assume that we’re supposed to assume that Sonic,Tails, Knuckles, Mr. Needlemouse and Robotnik are going to be in the game, with NM being new and the other charecters being classic.
2.Chip was sealed away to stop that thingamabob in the center of the world if I remember correctly. Good luck explaining that.
3. I won’t be surprised if Shadow gets in, though I couldn’t care less.
4. Froggy’s a plot device and Big was the weakest part of Sonic Adventure.
5. Tikal? hmmm… I don’t see it happening, but I suppose its not impossible…
6. Amy is a good choice I think. She hasn’t seen much action since Sonic Advance3.
7. Shade? Her game ended as a cliffhanger. Unless this game is ment to be a sequel, it really can’t possibly happen I don’t think…
8. Espio and Vector are far more qualified to be playable than Charmy.
9. Can you please bring this to wii too? I know it can’t be HD but I love Sonic and don’t want to miss out.

I’m guessing they’re just going to keep rejecting characters until it gets to Sonic, to show that they’re going back to their roots with Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. If not, I hope Big and Froggy are rejected and Vector is the strength character, as I’ve always liked Vector’s personality and felt Big never really had much of one. I hate Chip, but that’s just my opinion. Also, what about Espio?

Answer 1) For Sonic 1 (16-bit) fifty rings, though collecting 50 rings throughout the level wasn’t enough, you needed to keep at least fifty rings until the goal post, then it would require you to jump into the giant ring before the sign post stopped moving,
As for Sonic 1 (8-bit) you still need fifty or more rings, but instead of getting to the end, you must have fifty or more rings when hitting a checkpoint, after hitting it a light will glow above the checkpoint jumping into it will warp you to the special stage.

Answer 2) Six emeralds, you’re able to collect all the emeralds on “spring yard zone” act 2 if you get the special stage and get that emerald within each special stage prior to that act.

Answer 3) Blue, yellow, pink, green, red, and white.

I think SEGA leaving Knuckles and Tails out of that list is part of a joke cause it seems really suspicious. It’ll be funny if SEGA erased every character and said “Surprised!We’re going back old-school, the only playable characters in Needlemouse is Sonic, Knuckles and Tails.”

The only reasonable thing to do is cross out every name on that list except for Sonic. Knuckles + Tails should be supporting characters like Tails was in Sonic 2 (you have the option of Tails being a helper of sorts). Of course Eggman should be there, but nobody else.

I’d say for the best game:
sonic:runs jumps and spins. like sonic 2
Tails: same as sonic but can fly
knuckles: same as sonic but glides and climbs walls

No attacks. keep the formula simple.

Robotnik is a good villain.
Metal sonic is good but those parts in cd were hard
shadow is best as an antisonic who plays the same. chaos powers were only good in battle

also keep it 2d. in that you move left right up and down.

last note in super smash bros. brawl sonic has his new look but manages to look oldschool

It’s impossible to make a game that likes toeveryone.
Some people wants sonic-only game, others want tails and knuckles too.
Another bunch of people are discussing about if shadow should be in the game or not…
The quality of a game is how much fun it brings to you, this is what matters.
If sonic is playable, and sega really succed in bringing him to “his roots”, I’ll buy the game for sure.

But you may discus this MOST IMPORTANT THINGS EVERY FAN WANTS:

Hey everyone, these Sonic 1 related questions are meant to give hype to the fans, the teaser and the Sonic 1 effects have nothing to do with this game. Needlemouse is a new character, not the concept of early Sonic.

Just another game for Sega to rake in a bit of money while the magaazines and “true” fans slam the game for being yet another terrible release. You’re half way there SEGA why don’t you just make a half decent 2D Sonic title, it’s been begged for, for so long, keep with the original cast, Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, three completely different gameplay styles, while being 3 beloved characters.

I honestly don’t think any of these characters are worth putting in a game, we don’t need a new character as well, the only appealing one here is froggy, should of been kept following Big around in the early version of Sonic Adventure just hopping around actin’ all cool.

This will probably be deleted since I speak the truth, at least the majority of the jaded Sonic fans will agree, blah blah blah.

3) I believe that th colors were : Silver Green Blue Pink Red & lastly Yellow.

Basically people just want a Sonic Unleashed with no ware hog and no Chip. I think SEGA should stick to the Hedgehog Engine and make the game 2.5D where the camera is ALWAYS side scrolling except for in the chao garden. I honestly thing the newer characters should be in the game but NOT i repeat NOT in the story. The new characters like Shadow, Silver, Rouge etc. would only be multiplayer characters. I also think the story could possibly start where Sonic is with all his friends and possibly get transported back in time to a point where He had not met Shadow and other characters.

I think you should bring back the old characters, Sega. You know, Mighty the Armadillo, Fang the Sniper, Bean the Dynamite, Bark the Polar Bear, and Ray the Flying Squrriel. That’ll be awesome! I think Fang should partner up with Bean and Bark and he should be the leader of his team because Fang seems more of a leader than Bean and Bark. Also I think Mighty and Ray should be buddies and they should be travelers since Mighty is a traveler. I don’t mind if you get rid of the characters on the countdown, but please don’t get rid of Amy and Shadow.
