Delay in Aliens vs. Predator PDLC Content Live DateSEGA has received reports of problems with the downloadable content (PDLC) for the PlayStation 3 version of Aliens vs. Predator. The reported issues center around a delay as to when the PDLC content will be available to access. SEGA is working hard to shorten the delay but understands that the live date will be February 25th. We want to thank the AVP fans for their support and urge fans to retain the PDLC vouchers they have in their possession as retailers will not able to rectify this issue. For further assistance please contact SEGA at csescalations@sega.com or directly by phone on 1-800-USA-SEGA.

Although it doesn’t apply to me, I’m sure a few people will be upset about the news. Still, looking forward to seeing everyone getting on this game and having a good time
. Bring it on!

Was looking forward to picking up the Hunter Edition today. This is the most money I’ve spent on a video game ever…was disappointed to hear the shipment was delayed until tomorrow
Looking forward to playing this Thursday (I work a 12 hour shift tomorrow) though
Also, I heard the framerate is a bit rough, is SEGA/Rebellion going to support this game for the foreseeable future? I really hope so…

@Wick just got AvP. The game is awesome. It’s so much fun. Campaign is a little uninteresting though. SEGA get to work on that DLC and more Phantasy Star DLC!

This game is a disaster. After paying nearly double the price of the regular edition, I get to wait at least an extra day for my preorder. The PSN download code isn’t going to work until at least the 24th this month. The idiots at gamestop have nothing but a different lame excuse everytime you ask. I spend insane amounts of cash at gamestop, especially sega games (for the better part of two decades), and I feel like I’ve been had. I’ve left ten voicemails at sega of America as well as called the corporate offices of gamestop to complain. This is the second game in a row that gamestop employees neglected to tell me the game I’m preordering is coming out later than every single advertised date. The gamestop employee that helped me (Greg, store manager at 5656 grape rd Mishawaka, IN 46545) first told me the truck hadn’t arrived. I came back later & he told me it was because their original release date was after the 16th. When I preordered the game the clerk should have told me right then the game would be out later. Instead, he got $40 extra cash out of me & convienently left out the detail that would have probably assured me not preordering the game. Then I keep hearing online that sega messed up the avp he packaging. So between lying clerks at gamestop & horrid business practices at a failure of a once mighty gaming corporation I’m still out $100, my game is not here. And the skins will not work, making my preorder that much more useless. I’m going to continue blogging, tweeting & calling until one of these two corporations figures out they need to fix this huge mistake.

Unfortunately, I believe this does apply to me, as I haven’t been able to download the pre-order exclusive player skins for the PS3 version with the code I received Feb. 14th. I was extremely bummed believing I had somehow missed out, but am actually relieved now after having read this article. Looks like I may be getting those exclusive skins after all!!!

Could you please comment on the delay in availability of the Hunter Edition in the U.S. (and elsewhere)? I’ve gotten no official word on an ETA

Demo issues on PS3 should be fixed, however you’ll need to download the new Demo client to play proper.

Kinda ticked that I preordered the Hunter Edition and Sega has screwed up twice already. First the Hunter Edition got shipped out late so those who ordered the Hunter Edition had to wait while everyone else got the none preorder before me. Second I got these so I can try out the maps and skins before anyone else and now I have to wait AGAIN! Bad move Sega, but it’s a great game. Looking forward to a sequal and Aliens: Colonial Marines!*crosses fingers*

Sega this might be the last game i buy from you guys because you cant keep your word with your release date.

This is ridiculous. Possibilty one of the worst releases thus far. First, Hunter Edition is delayed by a day, 2nd the pre order skins code doesn’t work, and then the 4 early access multiplayer maps do not work either.
You should work on getting this done earlier than the 25th that is a joke. Salvage your reputation.

Worst game experiance ever
I ve played my share of 1st person shooters but the control and overall multiplayer experiance is horrible. I am so glad I rented this game instead of buying it I could not even play more than 1 hr. I recommend no one buy this due to how terrible the game experiance is I would not even pay 5 dollars for this game.

The DLC stuff sucks, there’s no question and we offer our sincerest apologies on it. We’re certainly not trying to hide it or pretend it’s not happening and this blog is to get the word out as much as possible.
For shipping on Hunters Editions / Normal Editions, the game actually shipped on 2/16, with availability in stores dependent on when games arrived. There are some differences in game launches for a lot of games, this had it’s ups and downs, but we’re working to address them. That said, your feedback is invaluable and appreciated, it’s going to the right people (I’ve walked this thread over to our Brand team today).
For Disappointed and other would be feedback leavers, saying something sucks is a terrible way to provide feedback. Telling us why and going into more detail on specifics is actually useful and helpful, not only for us, but for readers too. We have a post queue for some comments on the blogs with a manual check, so we don’t censor people on the blogs, but there is something to be said about trolling and the value thereof. My tl;dr version: post reasons on what you like/dislike, it’s a waste of space if you don’t bother.

I’ll just start of by reiterating what “Clumsyorchid” has just stated. If you’re going to post comments on blog like this, keep it constructive and helpful.
That being said…I’ll just add my voice to the legions of disappointed fans here. No matter how you look at it, this release is an absolute train wreck. Especially for PS3 owners. I waited 10 years for this game. I pre-ordered and spent $107.00 on the Hunter’s Edition. That’s something I would normally NEVER do for any other video game. That’s how much I’ve been looking forward to this release.
And what have I received for that price? Almost nothing. Nothing works! The entire selling point of pre-ordering was to get these skins and maps early. So much for that. Let’s run down just a few of the problems with this release so far…
1) The pre-order skins code doesn’t work. Waiting to be fixed.
2) The pre-order bonus maps code doesn’t work. Waiting to be fixed.
3) My “facehugger” bonus item was broken right out of the box, and apparently this is enough of a widespread occurrence that it has forced SEGA to put up a separate web page to offer replacements. (How do hundreds of SOFT RUBBER toys sealed inside of a box become damaged in transit, anyway?)
4) It has come to my attention that at least 1 of the pre-order skins (The “6″ Alien skin) is unlock-able through the XP system in the regular game. (I saw someone playing with it online yesterday). Then why was it advertised as a pre-order exclusive?! Was the entire pre-order ad campaign one big scam? At this point, it certainly feels like it.
5) The PS3 version of the game has no microphone mute function! How could a game developer/distributor forget such a MANDATORY feature?! Every time I manage to get online (see item #6 for that complaint), I’m forced to listen to half a dozen foul-mouthed, illiterate 12 year-olds yammering on and one into the distorted microphones. Why can’t I mute them?! How is something this important overlooked?! It ruins the entire online experience.
And finally, I’ve saved the worst for last…
6) Put simply…the GAME DOESN’T WORK. At least not the online multiplayer component of it. When the botched PS3 demo was released, and no one could find any games in the horrible lobby system, I thought to myself, “Meh. It’s just a demo. There’s no way the retail version of the game will have these problems…”
Wrong. As I’m typing this, I’ve been staring at the status of a “Quick Match” (how ironic) for almost 20 minutes now. Sure, it starts finding other players after the first minute or so, but the match takes FOREVER to start. Even after matching 8 or 12 players for a ranked match, I’m still sitting here waiting for the game to start! This is ridiculous! I’ve spent far Far FAR more time waiting in the lobby than I’ve ever spent actually playing this game.
And once a match is over, why does it boot everyone back out to the lobby to start the process all over again?! It’s infuriating! Just rotate the map and start the next game! If there are open slots, new players can join in. Why is this so difficult?!
As you can tell, I am absolutely livid right now. As a customer who paid for this, I expect all of these problems to be resolved QUICKLY. Otherwise, I’ll be demanding my money back.
(BTW~ 20 minutes later I’m still staring at this lobby screen…8 players waiting for a game that will never start…unbelievable.)

Same problem in Mexico… the release date for the Hunter edition was delayed until 5/mar/10 and that is dissapointing coz i already went to the store two times and no one knows anything about it. I read today there was an issue with the facehugger so we have to ship the broken collectible back to the US and wait for the replacement. I spend my money preordering the hunting edition and i have to wait more than fifteen days when everyone else with the normal edition is yelling around and complaining about the DLC and the lag in multiplayer. I cant get a refund of my money so i think i will get it as a credit for buying another game… Demo broke, collectible broken… DLC issue… multiplayer lag… release date delayed… i dont know… its a big fan test…

Kind of a downer about the shipping times. PC version still isn’t in at my gamestop, although they apparently have the PS3 and 360 versions. But either way, some of you are pretty impatient, I mean really, can’t use DLC until the 24th? Don’t even have it yet? Sheesh chill out, it’s not like you lost money, you just have to wait a little longer.

First off – I am a huge Aliens fan, so I had to buy this game. I got my hunter edition today. I love the game, I bought it for PC and PS3. I think the game over all is great, and all my problems have nothing to do with the actual game itself, so with all this negativity floating around, I just wanted to say, the game is awsome, makes me feel like im in the aliens movie which is what I wanted out of it.. been waiting for this since I saw it in theater since 1986.
Now the problems, which everyone else seems to be having..
1) Got the hunter edition later than most people
2) Face Hugger tail broken
3) Dowloadable Code not working
4) Multiplayer matching sucks
These are not deal breakers, and I love the game, but I spent $150+ on this game already because I am an aliens fan boy. It would be nice not to have so many issues.
The PC version blows away the PS3 in terms of graphics and ability to play well (aiming with mouse is way better than console). I only got the PS3 version so I can have the hunter edition and play it while my PC is occupied.
Anyway.. A+ on a great game, D- on the delivery execution. The gaming industry is all about making deadlines etc.. but id rather you guys release this game 2 weeks later without all these issues than get all our hopes up and then let us down like this when it is released.

WTF SEGA!!!!!! U BLOW DICK!!! this game is not even good. everyone dies in 2 hits and the stroy mode sucks for shit. all 3 campaigns put together are still short and each blows more than the other. except alien, that blows the biggest fat black dick i have ever known that a game case could fit in its mouth. how could they be excited about realeasing this shit. the reviews average at about 5.5 or 6. and they are still happy? wow

I was mad at 1st like most people about the codes not working and my facehuggers tail being broken. But after reading that Sega is going to do something about it, I’m no longer mad. Sure it kind of sucked at 1st getting the game late and all, but it was worth the wait IMO.
I do have some comment on how to improve online play however.
1. Make the end of matches return to a lobby with those in last game so you can play more.(Rather than dumping us back to square 1 and having to restart the 20 min wait for a game again.)
2. I know alot of people will disagree with me but, take away the choice of species for death match and mixed species DM. Make it a random selection, nothing is more boring than 9 Predators in 1 match….*sigh* Look, predators are my fav too but variety of species is most fun to me, we can’t always play the hunter.
3. Repair the grab mechanic, grabbing someone at full health while facing them is a bit ridiculious. I have no problem with the stealth kills from behind, that make sense.
4. For the love of god please add a mute feature as well, I like having the option to mute racist, vulger or people being jerks.
Just my thoughts, if these changes were mad the game would be better online.

ok so avp was good but most of us gamers want aliens colonial marines. Why is it that you keep trying tacktiks to move away from that game. You have to understand that aliens colonial marines has a bigger fan base than avp as the movies were poor and that is what put most people of buying it.aliens colonial marines is what fans want i know as i am a very big fan myself.it would not do any harm for a new trailer or even real gameplay footage as the way your handling it sega the people waiting for a.cm will end up loseing interest and find another game instead.i recomend you do something for us fans.also a proper release date would help and 1 that you can bloody stick to this time to prove your worth as i dont believe avp can improve you cant save this game people are not playing it much now as lack of dlc and they just expect more from you really
