Meet SEGA, play unreleased games, and win swag in San Francisco this Friday! If you’re in San Francisco – or can get here – by this Friday night, you’re in for a treat. SEGA has teamed up with the New People Center in Japantown, San Francisco, to offer an evening of Japanese gaming to our fans and press alike. I’ll let the invitation do the talking: (Click for the full size invitation) Once more, everyone is invited! Besides playing the games, you can also talk to some some of our community team about the upcoming games, recent SEGA news (including, most definitely, Yakuza 3), or reminisce about simpler times when we all tied up our phone lines playing Phantasy Star Online for hours on 56k dial-up. Also, the first 50 people that enter the building for the event will receive a special Resonance of Fate T-shirt! The T-shirt is real life swag that is actually based on a shirt in the game, making it an excellent piece of collector’s merch. It’s also one of the best looking game related shirts that I’ve seen in some time. To attend, just post your details in a blog comment below! Friends and Family are welcome – we hope to see you there!

So is it Yakuza 3 we get to play or is whatever was left of it after you butchered it cause it wouldn’t resonate?

Hey RUBY, can we start coming in early to claim the free shirt and play the games, or do we have to wait in line until 7:30pm to even enter? Thanks.

Velsper – First, know that I’m with you guys in understanding that fans want all the content. I’m taking all of the comments and feedback you guys are giving us, and I am passing it upward internally.
Ron – you’ll have to wait in line until 7:30 PM when the doors open. So if you want, just swing by early, get some dinner in J-town, and then make your way over to New People.

Are you sure these games will resonate with the people of San Francisco?
Perhaps you should simply cut the event and replace it with a screening of Rambo and NASCAR accidents.

Our SEGA event is totally free. There’s also a Yakuza lecture that starts a bit earlier, which is sort of the sister event to ours. If you’d like to attend that, the entry costs $10.

“Hm….i will come…play your game for 15 minutes…then realize..the clubs are cut and shout out loud: WTF!!! Where are my Hostesses!???”
yes you’d soon realize that yakuza 3 is a kickass action-adventure game for mature gamers not a romancing simulation tokimeki memorial-like for kids.
truth is hostesses are still in only while the clubs are out. you won’t die because you can’t get inside those clubs, play mahjong or show your japanase history skills at answer & answer.

You can still RSVP for the next 30 minutes or so. Then I’ll be printing the list and we’ll be heading off!
Even if you don’t RSVP in time, and are still in the area, we might be able to make room for you. Just swing on by when time allows.

Thanks SEGA for releasing this game. I’ve been a fan of the series since part one came out on PS2. I’ve told all my friends about the Yakuza series and they’ve been supporting it since its release.
Now…To cut the content….I believe it takes away for the integrity of the game. Yakuza is about the “Japanese” mob. We are playing a game about the “Japanese” culture. To take out content is like censoring something out. We live in the Unites States of America where we have freedoms and to have things taken out is quite ridiculous. I’ve told my friends about the content that has been taken away and they were shocked and upset that they spent $60.00 on a game that doesn’t have its 100% originality. The least SEGA can do is release the “cut” content as DLC.
Please release the this content as DLC on the Playstation network.
