Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Now Available on iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPadWhat’s that? You would like the chance to take one of the most awesome Sonic games ever with you wherever you go? Well, we can grant that wish — the Genesis mega-classic Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is now available on the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad! Also coming is a free update to the game, which will enable full multiplayer — play together through single player levels and Sonic and Tails, or go head-to-head in the classic versus mode!

Will the mulitplayer be through Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or just though one iPod/iPhone/iPad/whatever you’re using.

@Jordan – I believe it will be through Bluetooth. What I’ve heard is that this will actually run considerably faster, it won’t have lag/slowdown issues this way, which even the original version had during multiplayer.

Thank God for the multiplayer player update. Hopefully they’ll fix that lag bug too. Now…….anything for Sonic 4??……

Have you guys ever considered developing a “game controller” app to connect the iTouch to the iPad for the Sonic games?? I know that something similar was done with a particular board game app… An optional video game controller would be great for your iPad games!!

Heh. Played it on the Iphone. Not to shabby, oh except for one thing. HOW THE HECK ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO DO THE LEVEL SELECT CODE!????

Ah Sonic 2, only my favourite game of all time!
Can’t wait for the multiplayer update, also looking forward to an iOS4 fix too, runs pretty badly atm on my iPhone 4. :/
And as the above poster said, whack Sonic 3 & Knuckles onto to the app store pleeeeeeease SEGA, that would really be amazing, especially with Sonic 4 coming later in the year.
