Conduit 2 to Support Wii MotionPlusThis just in – Conduit 2 will feature support for Nintendo’s Wii MotionPlus! Not required for play, but a welcome bonus for those looking for a bit more precision in their online and offline play on Conduit 2, here’s the full press release: LONDON & SAN FRANCISCO (10th June, 2010) – SEGA® Europe Ltd. and SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that Conduit 2™, the latest collaboration with High Voltage Software, will support Wii MotionPlus™ enabling precision control and better tracking. The Conduit series is famed for its detailed control system allowing players to customise and configure their controls, including look sensitivity, turning speed, the dead zone and much more. Conduit 2 will use Wii MotionPlus to create the most responsive control system ever, as well as improved edge tracking and transitions to pointer control. “Wii MotionPlus is something that the fans have been asking for since it was announced – we looked at it for the original game, took a look at its implementation in other titles, and ultimately felt that we could add to the experience in Conduit 2 by supporting it.” explains Eric Nofsinger, Chief Creative Officer of High Voltage Software.“It’s by no means required – gamers will have a great experience without it – but it does offer a level of extra control and adds value to those with the accessory.” Conduit 2 will be playable at SEGA’s booth (#2023) at this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo and will be released exclusively for the Wii™ system from Nintendo in Fall 2010.

Why doesn’t the game require Wii Motion+ control? I should think it’s the new standard.

If Wii Motion Plus was required it would limit the pool of people available to play it and increase the price of the product, which is most unfortunate. If every Wii owner had the Wii Motion Plus, then it would be more likely to see this.
It’s optionally in the game and for those that use it, they’ll have smoother control and a tighter gameplay experience, but by no means required. We both know The Conduit had amazing controls, so this just strengthens the controls, making them bigger and better.

just one question, can one button be used for more than one thing?

I have played the first “Conduit” and can’t wait for “Conduit 2″. I have also used the Wii Motion Plus and enjoy it’s enhacement to the games supported by it. I’m gald Wii Motion Plus is going to be able to use in “Conduit 2″. I am also glad Wii Motion Plus will not be required for “Conduit 2″ so everyone can still play it…. weather they have Wii Motion Plus or not. “Conduit 2″ should definatley be inporved by Wii Motion Plus!

I agree, by not making by not making the motion plus mandatory has to add to the overall popularity of the game by allowing more people to play it.

I’m disappointed by the reports that motionplus will only be used to provide tracking beyond the edge of the screen for pointer controls. The most obvious use of motionplus for aiming would be the way Wii Sports archery uses it: as a 3D mouse.
All it would take is the sacrifice of a single button elsewhere to reposition the controller, and they’d be good. The quick-turn or even the lock-on button would be the obvious choices to replace, since those functions would be much less necessary with a mouselook scheme.
The rotational data from motionplus seems fast and precise enough from the other games that have used it, so if Conduit 2 does not include an optional mouselook configuration then I would very much like to hear an explanation why.

Nintendo’s Wii gaming system motivates first-graders, senior citizens and everyone in between to get off their couches and play video games by swinging a motion-sensing remote control. I am great fan of these kinds of gaming
