Virtua Tennis 4 announced for PS3 – with 3D and Move!Fans of Virtua Tennis should take heart – the long awaited fourth installment to the series has just been announced, and this time, will offer both 3D and Playstation Move compatibility! As the just revealed press announcement details:
We’ll be revealing the full player line-up in the future, but the screenshots here (and more here on Flickr!) reveal at least a couple familiar faces for fans of the series. Worth noting too is that we’ve got our original Virtua Tennis team working on big number quatro, who have been involved in almost all of the previous Virtua Tennis games, save for VT2009. So Virtua Tennis fans – what are your thoughts? What are you most looking forward to in the next numbered installment of VT? Does the news of the original dev team working on it again bring a smile to your face, or, for some of us, a pixelated blip to your VMU powered heart? We hope so – and we’ll be bringing you guys all the latest in Virtua Tennis 4 news as it arrives soon!

This is great news! The Virtua Tennis series is one of my favorites.
Frankly, though, I’d be content with an XBLA or PSN version of the original Virtua Tennis. The roster may be outdated, but it’s still my favorite game in the series.
Then again, things wouldn’t be the same without the VMU or the whir of the Dreamcast in the background.

Great news, here is hoping it is developed by Sega of Japan. While Virtua Tennis 3 was a great game and was developed by a superb developer Sega need to take control of the franchises that ppl love Sega for. e.g. Sega Rally. The 3D effect is no biggie for me as I am one of many who can not see 3d.

Good, Virtua Tennis 2009 was an unmitigated disaster, if you check out the xbox forums you’ll see why. It was like a downgrade from VT3. VT3 was by no means a perfect game it had muliple flaws, and was the first VT game on the next gen consoles and thats why we cut it a lot of slack, we expected improvements for the next iteration, but instead we got a horrid horrible game code. Hopefully VT4 would be an improvement

I hope to see a Wii version; I have a few MotionPlus accessories sitting here collecting dust. Lets just hope that VT4 won’t be as much of a glitchfest as VT2009.

yeah, great news…. I HOPE YOU CAN PLAY VT 4 WITH THE STANDARD PS3
CONTROLLER, TOO. Playstation move is not my business, I’m +30, and not a child who want to play wii on ps3…
Both controlling systems will be ok, but only playstation move, sucks. Hope you guys can bring on that. And: Lesser bugs, and a better online multiplayer mode with a fair counting system..

Will the original virtua tennis control scheme be included? Or will it simply be “move” based with the computer controlling footwork.

After wasting my money on the abomination called Virtua Tennis 2009, I won’t be buying this on launch day. Seriously though, PS3 motion and 3D? If I wanted to play Wii Tennis, I’d play it on the Wii!
Here’s to having faith in the Japanese developers for bringing back Virtua Tennis 3 gameplay with player updates, DLC and better graphics. One can only dream though…

This has probably persuaded me to get a PS Move Controller, looks amazing! How about a ported version of House of the Dead too

i hope the developers change that warping from third to 1st person. just leave it up to the player.
i know many people want to just keep it in 3rd person when using ps3 move

RIDICULE
