SEGA @ PAX 2010Phew! We’re back from PAX 2010, and we had a spectacular time! It’s always such a pleasure to meet our fans, and whether we saw you in our booth, at the Gameworks party, or on the streets of Seattle, we appreciate you. We’ve got a ton of photos, including some behind-the-scenes photos of the SEGA PAX crew, on our Flickr. Arrival & Setup
We arrived at our hotel on Thursday, ready to dump our bags and get over to the convention center. We were excited to check out the booth, and make a game plan to tackle the show the next day.
We got to the booth to check it out. At this point, it was mostly set up but there were still some finishing touches to handle. Our booth team does an amazing job to make everything just perfect for our fans!
After some set-up work, it was out to dinner and time to get some rest. CosplayersWe look forward to seeing all the great costumes at PAX, and there was no shortage of SEGA-themed costumes this year! From Typing of the Dead to the best Ulala costume I’ve personally ever seen… there was some real SEGA love at the show!
GameplayIt wouldn’t be PAX without playing some games, right? PAX attendees play Vanquish
Booth FunIt’s not all work in the booth, though. Here are some random moments we captured.
Community Party at GameworksWe love our fans. As community managers, it’s our job to interact with you every day, so you’re a big part of our daily lives. We’ve met some amazing people, and seen that SEGA fans are an intensely passionate and loyal group. We wanted to give back to all of you, so we created a crazy plan. What if we opened up the Gameworks arcade right across the street from PAX to the public? And gave people 2 hours of free arcade play? And some free food and drinks? And a free musical performance? And some seriously awesome raffle prizes? That sounded like a good idea to us, so we did it. And it seems like everyone else thought it was a good idea, too!
Thank You!Again, thanks to everyone for making PAX 2010 such a success for us! Everyone was so polite (I’m not sure I’ve ever heard “please” and “thank you” so much during a show!) and wanted to have a good time. So many people told us how excited they are about our games, and how much they enjoyed the Gameworks party. That means so much to us, because we do all this hard work for you! A huge thanks to everyone at SEGA that helped make this possible — Teri (booth manager & planner extraordinaire), Tracy at Gameworks (and all the Gameworks staff), Cash Cash, the SEGA PAX crew, and everyone at SEGA that helped us pull this off. We survived!

Dear Kieran, hope you get better after PAX. Also, bring back some classic Sega games, you know, the ones keeping your franchise alive. I love all of your new games like the conduit and Valkyrie Chronicles, but what about Space Channel 5, Chu Chu Rocket, and Jet Grind Radio. And why not bring Samba de Amigo to the PS3 and 360?

Excellent wrap-up! Special thanks to Andrew from QA for some of the pictures, too!
Thankfully, the wisp did not go down in vain – many of his brethren sacrificed themselves to get revenge on the Square Enix guys for blasting our booth with their presentations constantly every day. (That said, the Square guys are nice, awesome people!)
Get better Kieran. PAX makes you fat.

Question VI was worthy of answering. Now I feel I have the best *two* PAX 2010-exclusive shirts. Thanks to all the cool SEGA people I met at the booth/party/elsewhere for making this the best PAX I’ve attended yet!

So glad to see my pictures are up, even if only 2 made it. I had a blast at the party, and after most of the crowd left it was awesome hanging out with you guys.

I Was there :3
I had the sonic hoodie and t-shirt and old sonic hat on.
It was a blast. Thank you so much for the cool experience.
The only thing cooler would be if you did it again next year. XD
