Sonic Free Riders Weapons TrailerLookit what I have here… a brand new trailer for the Kinect-exclusive Sonic Free Riders. This trailer introduces the weapons in the game, showcasing how players become the controller to utilize items and win each race! In no time at all, you’ll be a pro at using Octo-Ink to cover up your opponent’s screen, shaking up a soda rocket to blast to first place, throwing a target torpedo and much more! Kinect’s unique motion sensor means Sonic Free Riders will see family and friends controlling their favorite Sonic characters and their fully customizable hover boards or bikes by twisting, turning and jumping in an exhilarating race to be the first to cross the finish line! 
Sonic Free Riders will be available at retailers across America on November 4th.

Why isn’t there a regular controller option for this? I loved the original Riders, and although Zero Gravity was terrible in comparison to the first, I still held out some hope that this one may be decent. I’m not gonna buy a Kinect just for this game, though, so I get screwed in the deal.
The music on the website sounds great at least. Hardly a good consolation
Are we going to see a soundtrack release of the music from the series?

Cool trailer but…. *JAW DROPS* WHAT?!?!?!?! WHY IS THAT SONIC’S VOICE?! IT’S NOTHING LIKE HIM! Sega, this sort of thing will make people BEG for the 4kids voice actors. Already I miss them.
Other than that, CAN’T WAIT TO GET THE GAME! Looks like so much fun!

Nice! Loved Sonic Riders, but incidentally the biggest problem with it was that it had no items so, if you were behind a good player, you pretty much already lost. Hopefully, items in SFR will balance it out like in Mario Kart.
Plus, the Kinect controls look great, but the problem is that none of the Kinect games I’ve seen look good except for this one. So I’m not incredibly hyped to get Kinect right away, you know? Should have added a regular controller option, IMO.

The game looks now more funny, but I dont have a X-box. I have a Wii and a PS3.

@sonic52789 – how would you know they needed to make a better job… you only heard one word. Not even a sentence you wont know how it will turn out until this game is released. Probably might have a change of interest after that. (My opinion it doesn’t matter, at least Sonic is coming with a new game… and you appreciate any sonic project if you are really a Sonic fan.)

I know your upset about people arguing but…
Sometimes its good to argue against SEGA/Sonic Team
Don’t get me wrong its not that we hate all Sonic Games or anything its just
let me put this way
A sonic Game is released….you try it…you don’t like it you praise SEGA for trying but tell what they can do to improve and make future games better…
E.G Sonic Unleashed it has speed stages, werehog/combat stages , hub worlds and bosses
Most people didn’t like the Werehog Stages and Hubworlds :L they like the Speed stages and bosses more because either;
Most of the stages where too hard, they had steep platforming, too many enimies, high areas where you could easily fall off and die etc etc
SO take it this way to improve they could make the werehog more fast paced, make the stages more easier, less challenging , less enemies Or have NO WEREHOG STAGES AT ALL XD
Also I know some people judge games by its looks even if they haven’t played it
Its better to play it first and see how it goes and I was a bit scared of the voices sorry ^^
And the Voice acting wars…well we all have different opinions and views but I think your right we shouldn’t judge Sonic’s new voice yet
And a few people think the V/A is the most important thing in games :/ also the characters look and design , they forget about the gameplay which is more important than these.
SEGA tried in the past and not everyone was pleased or liked “The Sonic Cycle” (is that what they call it???)
Honestly I didn’t mind all The Sonic 3D Games I enjoyed playing most (Except of Sonic 06 of course)
SEGA realised all the complaints from fans for the last 5 years and now it was time for a change REFRRESH!
Afterall it would be boring having the same thing over and over again but remember this No matter How Well SEGA are trying or doing There’s always gonna be at least one Sonic fanboy or girl complaining about important stuff , less important stuff , quite important stuff or even…..Useless stuff XD

Don’t you guys realise it? You demanded a new voice actor for Sonic, and you got exactly what you wanted: a more mature voice. I hope this makes everyone understand how much Griffith sounded like Drummond. Yeah, Drummond was better, but I think Griffith was good too.
It’s the same thing as with Shadow the Hedgehog’s appearances: You wanted for him to return after SA2, and now you bitch about him being overused and stuff, and tell that he should have never appeared after SA2. C’mon, think a bit! No wonder Sega can’t take all the feedback!
Other than that, I don’t have much to say about this trailer, because I won’t get Kinect anyway (and I don’t care that much about Sonic Riders series anyway), but the weapons seemed innovative and funny, in a positive way.

- It’s waaaaaaay too deep.
- Monotoned.
- Has a slight country accent.
- Doesn’t have that slightly high pitched Sonic voice.
I hate to say it but, in the trailer for “Sonic Free Riders”, I would much rather have the “Yeah!” voice for Sonic rather than, what ever that was.
Sega, if you want Roger to sound like Sonic, have him listen to previous Sonic games like SA2, Sonic 06, Sonic Unleashed (voices of Sonic). Please Sega, this sounds nothing like Sonic.

Its just something we need to get use to …..TO Adjust
The same think happend when the 4Kids Cast took place in 2005 up to now
Half on the fans didn’t like the cast and prefered the Original Cast
The other half did like the 4Kids Cast more better praising Sonic for a calm, teenage mood, knuckles having a edge temper voice etc etc
After the release Of Black Knight , Sonic Rivals 2 and Unleashed people praised the voice acting and said 4Kids did much better in those games then previous games
We gotta accept good things have to end someday…..and new changes happen ….yeah I know how it feels…..new, weird and you may not like it but we gotta accept at some point
Im sure people will like Roger and Kate in the next couple of months or years they could still show more talent to come in the near future
If they get replaced after a certain amount of time I’m sure some of the fans will feel the same way as most do now (4Kids being relaced by new reformed cast)
maybe in the next couple of years (new reformed cast being replaced by new people again)
They don’t do it like the Japanese (the japanese do it differently like if someone dies or quits).

Look, I’m sorry if you guys like the new voice actor for Sonic, and WANT to adjust but, come ON, does this really sound like Sonic? Sonic’s voice is supposed to be higher pitched. Could you imagine how roger would sound saying the classic Sonic statement? Such as “Let’s DO IT!” or “I’m Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog!”. I just, really miss Ryan and Jason, I don’t want roger to voice Sonic. I have no idea WHY SEGA chose him. I’m 15 and I can do a MUCH better Sonic!
Although if there’s one thing I liked about the cut-scene, if you guys notice, at 0:16 – 0:18, Sonic isn’t walking backwards, he’s MOONWALKING!

@SONICTH18 – Fictional characters NEVER grow up. Mario is 30 possibly older and he still sounds like a 7 year old saying “Wha-HOO!”. Sonic should stay true to his character and keep his high pitched cool voice. Not his Deep, non-Sonic voice.

But his voice sounds younger though. Although, I played the Free Demo of Sonic colors on the DS and it game me my first look on Sonic’s new voice and it isn’t bad on that. Chech it out guys if you have a DS!
He voice isn’t just right. that is not the Sonic voice I always enjoyed. It’s not gono ruin the game. but it will still be a little anoying.

@SONICTH18 – Again, Sonic is FICTIONAL, meaning he doesn’t age. Could you imagine when Sonic is 30? Are you saying you wouldn’t mind a deep voiced Sonic? Cause I would mind. Sonic doesn’t need any changes, his voice was fine until roger took Ryan and Jason’s place. Again, imagine roger making Sonic say “Let’s DO IT!” or “Sonic’s the name, SPEEDS my game!”, now tell me, would that sound so swell? No. Roger should get the boot. @Truesonic – Well he may have more talent in the future but, I watched a cut-scene in Sonic Colors and roger didn’t sound like Sonic, and I guess I just got disappointed. I’ll admit I didn’t like the scene either but we will see how it goes
And yes in the future he needs to bring back Sonic’s young sarcastic,happy,calm teenage mood which Both Jason and Ryan gave him
And Kate Higgins is trying too hard to make tails sound like a boy and now hes a bit too deep for me Amy Planant was perfect as Tails but hopefully Higgins will improve
But I felt both 4Kids Cast and Original Cast had more to show if they wern’t fired Prefered 4Kids though :/ Ah well…

besides..SEGA themselves said that they wanted his voice deeper and I know a Hand full of people who think the same way…now…as I said before AGING IS NOT A MUST…but it would make sense..and dude..I know you don’t like change….(I can Tell)…but we all have to grow up…the fanbase has….and so has…Sonic…so we just have to keep movin on
