The SEGA Community Event starts tonight!Hey everyone! We hope you’re all excited for tonight’s big event! From Valkyria Chronicles to Phantasy Star to Sonic 4, we’ve got cool things in store – including food (and chocolate)!
Finding SEGAThere are two entrances to SEGA: one on Kansas street and one on Rhode Island street. For this event, please make sure to use the Kansas entrance, as it’s the one we’ve secured for the evening so that the doors don’t lock you or your family out, etc. Once you come in from the Kansas side, you’ll see a number of Rappies guiding your way. They’ll lead you to the doors, then to the elevators, and from there you’ll want to head up to the Fourth floor. We’ll be there ready to check people in starting at 5:00 PM! What kind of food will there be?We’ve ordered some very yummy sandwiches and some even more yummy dessert to feed you guys with. We’ve also picked up a fairly wide variety of soda (super healthy!), so whether you’re a Coke, Pepsi, or even a Mountain Dew person, your drink of choice will be there! Is there parking nearby? The best spots to park will be in the blocks nearby – De Haro and Carolina, which are only a couple blocks away, may also have parking. If you go up the hill a little on either Rhode Island or Kansas streets, you may also find some parking spots to use! What kind of prizes are you giving away? That’s a secret! You’ll have to wait and see what we’ve got in store. We’re looking forward to seeing all of you guys tonight – and sorry that we couldn’t fit in everyone who wanted to come! The high demand for this event is a great sign for the future, though – if you guys want more, we’ll make them happen. See you tonight!

When (or where) can we expect to see some photos (and whatever) from the event?

It was awesome. =)
I hope to attend another event like this next year, assuming I don’t have a class on that day. Though maybe if I take Caltrain that won’t be a particular issue. It seems to run near there, anyway. XD
As far as photos and videos are concerned, I don’t remember any of the staff holding a camera. A few of the attendees were, however. You can try asking them if they ever drop by to this comment section.

I really had a great time at the open house and hopefully the hicups this time around for the game events will not be present in future shows. I’m glad I could make this one.

Was really, really fun and had a great time. Tournament was fun, and playing open missions with everyone was fun too. Hope to see another one in the near future, would definitely go to it.

Fourth floor? I hope those weren’t spam sandwiches.
Additionally, I see a familiar name in the comments. It might have been cool to meet up. I know Meira from PSOW went too, so I expect to hear some stuff about it in the next podcast.

Thanks for putting on the event! While I would’ve liked to have been able to interact with more VC fans instead of ending up sequestered with the PSP2 folks, I did have a fun time! My teammate and I even managed to win our PSP2 round even though I’d never touched the game before!

Ah-haha, sure wish I coulda gone but I couldn’t catch a last-second flight up to san fran, (though I would have loved to). Hope the event went well and was a lot of fun for all attendees and SEGA of America folks. Next time I’ll jump on the reserve list first so I can make sure I’m in the door and can get the days off from work to come hang out. Phantasy Star Portable 2: Infinity event, anyone?

Next time we’ll have to switch. The Sega PAX event didn’t have more than a few Phantasy Star fans (I think I even brought the few that were there), but we were practically swimming in a sea of great VC cosplayers.

Thanks for having all of us, it was a great time. I as well wish there was more VC fans, but at least I was with most of them.

Sega, please make that forum! http://blogs.sega.com/usa/2010/10/12/sonic-4-speed-run-justin-towell-on-splash-hill-zone-act-i/#comment-43475 (Read Post #45)
I want to discuss my thoughts about the new Sonic 4 Episode II.
Sonic is heading in the right direction but I’m not satisfied with some things. to put it bluntly, it didn’t feel the same as the first 4 games. Many fans are okay with this, but I am not.
The fans who play this Sonic’s generation games accept the game, and say that its good because they love Sonic. Whatever Sonic game they are given they will ALWAYS like it…
Sonic 4 is an example of this.
I have a different approach, I have looked several times in gameplay of how Sonic 4 was like.
It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t give off that same charm.
In Sonic 2, at the end of the game. I felt completed. The ending had a heroic feeling, It felt very Legendary. The scene with Tails waiting for Sonic felt inspiring. The game had a story you can feel.
In Sonic 4, it felt, empty… The Music didn’t feel as it should have been, and could’ve have been worked on a lot more. Classic Sonic needs to come back, not this generation’s Sonic.
I have an Ideal image of what Sonic’s Future should be like. Please make that forum!!
