Buckle Up for SEGA Rally Online Arcade!SEGA’s history contains a hearty lineage of both racing and arcade games — and those are being brought to bear once again this Spring, with the release of SEGA Rally Online Arcade! SEGA Rally Online Arcade is an all-new HD game for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 consoles featuring fast-paced offroad racing action. If the title seems like a mouthful consider it the necessary application of great racing games from SEGA’s past — SEGA Rally Revo and SEGA Rally 3, in particular, have lent their unique racing DNA to this new off-road console game, which aside from lots of great single player challenges, will specialize in numerous online modes. The game includes familiar race types such as “Championship Battle Mode” and “Time Attack”, letting you fight your way through a field of cars over successive tracks or race against the clock, respectively. There’s a new achievement system for unlocking additional content, and a total of 13 cars to choose from. Multiplayer options include 2 players locally and 2-6 for online play, where you can compete for online leaderboards on tracks choked with dirt, mud, and snow. Speaking of the tracks: Also featured is the “Desert ’95″ track (seen below), from the classic arcade game “SEGA Rally Championship”. It’s a callback to SEGA’s long history in racing games, when arcade technology made it possible to race on different terrains for the first time. With HD graphics and a great blend of arcade and realistic driving physics, you’ll have the chance to jump right in and tear up the tracks as you hone your skills for competitive play. Stay tuned for more info on this title, and get ready to race!

Looking forward to the game, but the pictures give me the feeling I already have this game. (SEGA Rally on 360). SO how much will this be different, is it even different?

@Peter van Dam – It’s very different, and while I like the screens they don’t quite tell the whole story; this game looks really good in HD. I’ve played the other games and while I’m a fan this one feels different & updated. I’m excited for it

HAPPY DAYS! It only seems like yesterday that the studio for Revo got shut down. Now that was a fine addition to the franchise too.

Nice! I am really hoping this game has Sega Rally 3′s frame rate and not Revo’s, i.e., 60fps please.

This should be on PC, for best graphics and performance. Poor decision by SEGA. Very disappointed.

Very nice. Would like to know who’s making the game first, but it’s just great to have the series back. Can’t help but be excited.

If this is 60fps I will buy it, arcade racers need to be full frame rate or they just don’t capture the feel properly.

I’m patiently waiting for this but I’m really hoping that it will support steering wheels. I love playing Revo with my Driving Force GT and I wouldn’t expect this game to be any different. Also, I hope the soundtrack DESTROYS the Revo soundtrack which should not at all be hard to do. SEGA Rally 1 and 2 had some of the best soundtracks in a racing game and yet Revo was such a disappointment with it’s easily forgettable and dare I say, generic tunes.

The main thing that I hope is fixed in this game is that, in Sega Rally (Revo) unless you were in bumper cam the cars felt completely weightless for some reason and almost seemed to turn on a centre axis… It didn’t feel right at all.
Id’ like to be able to change the view in this game with out feeling as though I’ve changed the controls too.
