Yakuza 4 hits the US with free DLC packed inWhen the news about the Kuro and Shiro editions of Yakuza 4 hit the net, the questions began to fly. Was the US missing out on this content completely? Were those awesome unlockable costumes going to come with our version too? And what about all those extra post-game elements, like the survival mode, or the underground fighting arena? Today we can confirm that all copies of Yakuza 4 in the US will come pre-packaged with these codes right inside the box. Specifically, this includes:
Like Yakuza 3, these codes will be one-time use, so you’ll want to make sure you’re buying a new copy of the game if you want to enjoy the bonuses. Consider it our little way of saying thank you to the many fans out there who are doing their part to help the Yakuza series succeed here in the west. (Hostess clubs included!)
We may not be getting the shiny black cover, but all the costumes you see above, as well as all the DLC, will come free inside every new copy here in the US. Why can’t we get the steelbook versions in Canada? Yakuza 4 is not even on the gamestop Canada web site.

Already Pre-Ordered my Kuro Edition in Germany, too bad the Shiro Edition doesn’t come out in Germany, but well, the Kuro Edition for Germany has the same features as this Edition right?
can’t wait for the release, i just hope you didn’t cut out as much as you did in Yakuza 3…….

@Siggy – I know, right? I tromped over to Gamestop told them about it and asked in person if they were getting the pre-order PSN theme for Yakuza. The store’s response was that Canada is USA’s poor cousin when it comes to pre-order DLC.
Unfortunately the Great North has a low population and a lot of area which makes it harder for us to get this fun stuff.

I’m glad we’re getting the DLC, and I did preorder my game through Gamestop for the theme…but I just don’t understand why we couldn’t have gotten Kuro or Shiro editions here in the US. I would have loved to have gotten that steelbook case!

That’s great news but I dont understand why we can’t get the case? The dynamic theme as a pre-order bonus is not really an incentive in my eyes. The case should be the pre-order item or just make a collectors edition for the case.

Again, Sega makes an epic fail by throwing their lot in with Gamestop. I’m in Canada, and naturally, there is no pre-order info for Yakuza 4 on the Gamestop.ca site, PERIOD. I have already been burned on DLC by Gamestop twice and will never pre-order another game from them unless it is GUARANTEED (in otherwords a pre-order code in my hand upon making the pre-order). Sega, please cut this exclusive DLC crap and just put it on the disc, so we can purchase games from retailers that we can TRUST!!!

All edition of Yakuza 4 (regular, Kuro, Shiro) have this DLC? If it true, this is great, since this DLC should be free from the original Japan (Ryu Ga Gotoku 4).
My opinion is that DLC should be inside Blue-Ray, so the gamer doesn’t need to activate the code. Maybe SEGA US give another free DLC for Yakuza 3 too, but that just my suggestion about this.

ShadoX – Actually, both sides get their own bonuses.
Personally, I think the steelbook covers you guys get in Europe are awesome. I’d gladly pay extra for those if we could get them here in the US!

I just bought the Region 3 Yakuza 4 (BLAS 50309), no dlc codes included, so unless I was screwed over by the shop i bought the game from, Region 3 does not get the DLC code. Doesn’t look like they are available on PSN too. LOL, kind of makes me not want to play the game at all.

Region 3 DLC for Yakuza 4 is already available on ASIA PSN and the DLC is free!
No secret codes required to download the DLC.
