Announcing Super Monkey Cube!April 1, 2011. Today SEGA of America & SEGA of Europe are proud to present to the world the newest title in the Super Monkey series, a title that’s ten years in the making, a title that’s six sides of awesome — Super Monkey Cube: Five Facets of Fun! “Through our testing and experience, we tightened up the graphics a lot.” says James Bray, Global Brand Manager for all things Monkey Ball. “Just look at World 3, level 3, section 3; it’s a work of art, we’ve got some of highest resolution pixels you’ve ever seen!” The Fan(s) Talked – We Listened
We’ve seen the feedback from MonkeyBaller1997 and are finally doing something entirely fan driven, for the fans, from us at Sega, who are fans of you – the fans! Super Monkey Cube is built from the ground up, based entirely on fan feedback. We’ve collected your thoughts from Twitter, Facebook, and our own Forums to design this game. The SEGATRON3000 has captured all data from these platforms (fact!), parsed it, and come up with the best possible game combination! This isn’t how we rollA realtime turnbased RPG with action elements, Super Monkey Cube is nothing like you’ve ever seen or played before! All your favorite Monkeys return – AiAi, MeeMee, Baby, and GonGon and an all new friend – Poly! Gone are the restrictions of rolling, now gameplay revolves around a familiar grid based world! Take turns, read long story arcs, level up with confusingly intricate menus, discover a flat world unlike any other, and solve the whereabouts of the Golden Banana! Super Monkey Cube: Five Facets of Fun launches in 225 moves on November 11th, 2011

There is a puzzle game in the App Store called CubicMan. If “Super Monkey Cube” was real, CubicMan is EXACTLY what it would be.

This is hilarious. Oh, and Jix Hedgehog: There is already one. It’s called Ape Quest and it is for the PSP.
Still, this is hilarious.

I absolutely love SEGA’s April Fools pranks more than any other. Who remembers last year’s Ecco: Sea Wars 2? It was win. This is even better.

It’s so weird it takes April Fools to come up with an actual idea worth doing. What’s tragic about modern day Sega, is that they obviously have the ideas but waste them on pointless shite like April Fools.
I wanna cry honestly, oh and Oi! Yu! Where the hell is our Space Harrier HD that was promised in Sega Superstar Tennis!? And NO, this idea won’t go away until you do it!
Happy April Fools SEGA, the jokes on you.. sadly

Oh, hell yes. I want this. But aside from not alliterating, why only five facets? Where’d the sixth go?

I’m not that into the Super Monkey Ball games, but this sounds pretty cool! I might just check it out. And the 11/11/11 release date is a nice touch.

This would be a great gyroscope / iphone / 3ds game! You would shake and bounce the cube and other shapes through 3d mazes and other hazards/maps/terrains into the goal/objectives via shaking instead of rolling. Also works with other irregular shapes, including ovals and whatnot, along with linked shapes via rubberbands and other connectors.

A game where you have to be a cube and roll over stuff and into the hole is just like games on the internet. I would like to see one with tons of levels though. (Too bad it’s an April Fools joke)

I like the joke and reading between the lines I like the sarcasm more. I personally think that the worst games are made from fan feedback.

No. No. No!
This isn’t even a joke. It’s mocking monkey ball fans. The new generation games are TERRIBLE! Listen to the fans! Revert back to the old graphics, the old LEVEL DESIGN! We don’t give a crap about motion controlls or 3D, just give us another solid monkey ball game we can sink another 299 hours into!
I know it is a bit late to be commenting on an April fools “joke,” but monkey ball is something I feel extremely passionate about.
