1. Thanks for bringing the Ohshima Sonic back!
2. Please do make a version for Wii, or whatever higher-tech (hopefully) console Nintendo unveils at E3.
3. Please don’t add a lot of unfamiliar gameplay concepts to the 2D or 3D components or you will have another Sonic Unleashed on your hands. I sold that game the moment the Werehog wrecked it for me.

Alright SEGA 3 things I’m gonna say and you best be listening after all you claims listen to your fans

1. Include BOTH Ryan and Jason as Sonics in this game most fans I’ve come across are rather DISPLEASED with roger and most of the new cast (to be fair some are pretty good) but Ryan and Jason both earned the role while roger was offered and both Ryan and Jason spent more time in the series.

2. Make sure the controls are fixed

3. Don’t rush it we don’t want another sonic next gen

Ok seriously…Having Roger Craig Smith as the voice of BOTH Sonics is lazy. I know you guys said you wanted Sonic to sound older and more mature, but he’s acting less so. You can go ahead and keep Roger as the voice of Modern Sonic if need be, but at least give us an OPTION as to who Classic Sonic should be voiced by. @Daniel: Exclusives is a dumb idea overall, and the ones you mentioned aren’t very good (Haven’t played Black Knight but as a friend of mine said all sword games have bad controls so I can’t imagine it being very good, no have I played the olympic games but that is a spin-off and spin-offs don’t count) and the Olympic games kind of HAVE to be exclusive since half of it is Mario. When Sonic and Halo at the Olympic Warfare comes out, that can be an exclusive.
For your second point, I still say if this next Nintendo console that’s been rumored has HD (I assume that’s what your jabbering about), then I can wait for the 21st anniversery. In the meantime, I’ll wait for Sonic 4′s next episode.

I’m really pumped for this. I have to say that it looks great. I have to say though; I really don’t care for the design. I like it a lot and much of the plays physics from the video look great. have new sonic running like retro sonic and maybe new sonic can up his rep. I personally believe it’s more of an association issue rather than a true aesthetic issue. If everyone was this bad Mario would still be pixilated with inverted overalls.

hmmm I dunno, I like the idea, and the presentation looks outstanding, this is what I wanted from sonic 4. but it looks like the 2d segments from sonic colours which were hard to play, they dont perform as smoothly as the original holy trilogy, so if the physics are the same as colors and they didn’t improve it then count me out. I dont think its right to claim a game sucks from just a short trailer, but you shouldn’t assume its going to be great either

I’m sure all of us Wii users really appreciate being repaid like this for staying loyal and sticking with you for all these years in spite of the Sonic Cycle. Sega’s ready for the big leagues now! the wii, IMO has had the worst sonic games on it… (bad version of sonic unleashed, Sonic and the black knight, sonic and the secret rings) .xbox/ps3 (sonic 06) It’s time for a full HD sonic game to be FULLY awesome.

And to answer your question, ChaoticOverdrive, Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 are, IMHO, the best two 3D sonic games in exsistance….with today’s available technology they have the power to build on that, and make a SUPER impressive sonic adventure 3. one with an engaging story, alot of replay value (I still play the original Adventure games to this day….they are my most played games….ever…in history.) Pretty much every sonic game after that, LACKS any kind of replay value. the levels in colors were way too short. after you unlocked super sonic there was really no reason to ever play the game again. Sonic unleashed was full of unbearable glitches. Sonic 06 also glitchy, rushed, and unfinished. Sonic heroes had zero unlockables, no chao gardens….no reason to really pick up the controller again.

Sonic adventure 1: had explorable adventure fields with chao gardens, items that you could buy for the chaos. you could access ANY level in the game by just going to them in the adventure field, instead of selecting them from a menu, or going through the whole game again. That made it more realistic. It even had a Day/Night system, and cars driving around the town to make it even more realistic. the story kept you guessing and it engaged the audience. It re-introduced every character, and their background stories flawlessly. Also the new characters, though annoying at times, were introduced and felt apart of the story.

Sonic Adventure 2: the story alone makes me give that game a perfect 10. I shed tears as a kid when maria was shot…and when shadow died saving the earth. Once again the chao gardens…now improved with being able to win prizes (your chao could WATCH TV!! ) and plant tree seeds that your chao may have liked or not…that was an awesome addition. The gameplay was super fast and action packed. The voice acting was better than the current games. (thank goodness Jason Griffith is FINALLY gone) All the Character’s stories blended perfectly. I love the fact that they gave you the option to SAVE the world or DESTROY it. that was really innovative and it’s rarely done in video games.

If they made a sonic adventure 3, with an engaging story, supurb graphics, physics that COMPARE to, but are much better than sonic adventure 2, and most of all, REPLAY VALUE with the day/night system that we were promised and lied to from sonic 06…that would make the perfect 3D sonic game. Also, having additional characters with their own abilites would be great…they should be different variations of sonic’s gameplay…slower than sonic, but tails could fly, knuckles can climb/glide/punch, amy can use her hammer, shadow’s chaos powers, and Rouge’s flight/climbing/kicking Just like back in the old days on sonic 3….make it almost identical to sonic…but he’s the star so make his THE BEST! my idea for the best 3D sonic game ever.

‘Cept for the fact that if it weren’t for the Wii, and for Sonic Colours, this game would never have come to the PS3 and Xbox. It’s because Unleashed was a mediocre release on ALL three platforms that SEGA focused on selling Sonic 4 and didn’t expect Colours to be the big hit that it wound up being – so perhaps you should be thankful to all the Wii users who paved the way for your game while they’re getting left out in the cold.

Not Wii Titles are bad I mean what Sonic Colours and The M&S Series,,,,Personally I think Colours was okay but not amazing or great as other past games but a little improvement but it lacked a lot of things…Secret Rings isn’t so bad despite the controls and no options it had great music, party modes and levels That’s what I think BK was okay and I did like ZG…Wii Unleashed yeah that was pretty bad….SR felt pretty boring and dull at times

Still that doesn’t mean that Wii Owners automatically have to get a version for this despite some mediocore/bad games Wii Owners had Wii Owners also had some good games too whereas The PS3 and Xbox owners have had less Sonic games only one which was rushed and unfinished and that was 06…..

I enjoyed Unleashed (HD) a lot in my opinion I think it was one of the best Sonic games a big improvement from other titles which were mediocore

All games could have been better some off better than before but some were just as fine the way they were

Though The Adventure games were good they did suffer some faults too not just the bad games Fishing Stages were a pain playing as Big ,Amy’s stages, The treasure Hunting stages could get tedious and annoying at times sort of like the Werehog but I tend to find TWSs a bit better but They did have some good moments exploration,travelling from one place to another but sometimes it could get tiring due to layout of levels e.g Mad Space,Death Chamber,Egg Quaters I really hated those levels

Shooting gameplay with Tails and Eggman could get tedious at times too personally I liked playing Tails more in Adventure rather than SA2 Having Tails run and race was more relaxed and balanced IMO But The shooting Stages also have their good moments too I wouldn’t mind just Eggman on a machine

The Chao….they don’t need to be involved in every game all the time They have been involved in the past but not as much as they were in the Adventure series Sonic Rivals 2 and Chronicles DBH they had major roles there…..They don’t have to be in every Sonic game

It didn’t ruin Heroes that much….Heroes suffered some things too as well as Shadow
Sonic Unleashed had Chao in DLC Stages…They’ve made quite a few cameos and appearances…..The Chao gardens made a breif return in CDBH maybe in future Sonic games they will appear again just like the old times but not every time course it’s been a while now since they have made a full appearance

I actually liked Jason Griffith felt really alive and more like Sonic to me I liked his Sonic voice the best he’s a great actor In my opinion….

I’d like a mix of past gameplay but not entire

If SA3 was to be made and then released what happens if it doesn’t turn out as you expected it to be….this = More complaints and arguments =__=

I’m not saying SA3 should not be made I’m just curious why it should be…I mean how will the story work out then how will it begin?…..characters….Levels? Ending?

Judging from the gameplay shown in the trailer, it looks like the physics engine for the Classic Sonic stages is going to be a lot closer to that of the Genesis games. I just hope that he doesn’t uncurl when he goes rolls up a ramp…that really bothered me in Sonic 4: Episode 1. I am super excited about this.

the story should be the least of your concerns… i’ve had many ideas about a metal sonic based game where you play as sonic, to save the world, you play as metal sonic to destroy it for Dr. Eggman. Also…take the colors idea…and some age to it (aim it at teens instead of children) They can make almost ANY story an epic one if they really wanted to. As for characters.

I agree with you about the tediousness of the other character’s gameplay….but thats something that should be FIXED, not omitted. SONICS/SHADOWS levels were FLAWLESS in the games. I honestly believe that tails’, Knuckles’ and whoever else’s gameplay style should be BUILT off of sonics, but tweaked to where they’re slower, and they still use their abilies in ways that best fit for each level. (ie tails being able to fly to reach places in a level that sonic could not. or knuckles punching his enemies instead of spin dashing/homing attacking them) Think back to sonic 3 & knuckles. when you picked tails…it was just like playing as sonic, cept you could FLY and the paths were a bit different for each levels. When playing as knuckles, you could glide, climb walls and punch through bigger boulders that sonic couldn’t get through… THATS whats needed in todays sonic games, but in full 3D, not 2.5D. For people like me, 2D is incredibly BORING because it’s dated. I love sonic to death, but when I play his genesis games, they put me to sleep. When I was a kid it was the only thing that kept me awake….

Sonic belongs in 3D just as much as mario does…..Sonic can pull it off better with some support from his fans…im not saying sonic adventure was PERFECT, but it felt more like a sonic game TO ME than colors, unleashed or 06 for that matter. i’m glad you “2D” fans are getting what you want, congrats….but us 3D[adventure] fans have now been waiting 10 years for a decent 3D game (06 was mediocre, and sonic heroes just didn’t measure up) for me, I con honestly say that the last time I enjoyed any sonic game was on a SEGA console…which leads me to believe that theres no hope for me and sonic…

Im excited for this game becuase it FITS for an anniversary game…it couldnt have been planned any better…but for the game after this…I would REALLY like a full 3D sonic experience that holds as much quality [without the tediousness] as sonic adventure….. and you know as well as I do that thats 100% possible….

Good games don’t depend on graphics. There are a lot of old 6-bit, 16 bit games that are much better than some of the games with high graphics. I still play the 16 bit games of Sonic and that it would be fair if all consoles have it. So for all the wii haters, out there you know that Lost in Shadow was like HD and that a really good game. On top of my list, besides Sonic.

Why can’t Sega go and release this game for Wii!!!?? I’ve played pretty much every main Sonic game and have enjoyed almost all of them. Then when Sonic 06′ came out, I so wanted the game to come our for Wii, but instead we get Secret Rings which I didn’t enjoy as much. Black Knight wasn’t as enjoyable either, even the Unleashed Wii version wasn’t as enjoyable, the other versions looked way better in my opinion. The only good games I feel the Wii got were Sonic 4 and Sonic Colors, and just when I was interested in possibly getting Sonic Generations, it’s only available for the other consoles, and not Wii. It seems like every good sonic game doesn’t come out for Wii so I’ll probably to have to buy a PS3 now just for that game! I’ve been a loyal Sonic gamer and if this keeps happening and we don’t get some of these games over to Wii, I’ll have to think twice before I want to get another Sonic game again.

Actually Unleashed did have some replay value…more acts and extra DLC Stages for both Day and night…Unleashed is one of my favourite Sonic games along with past titles

I’m not too concerned about how the story I’m just curious how it can start and what causes the plot…..Eggman involved with what? Time Travel? how can it be superior to the other stories?

For characters yes they can be improved and worked on but perhaps they could add fresh material too combined with old gameplay…. so would Silver and Blaze could be playable just like they were in Sonic Rush and Sonic Rivals 2 as well as Espio and also Heroes style? and yes I like 3D Gameplay too But Sonic will still be Sonic no matter if 2D or 3D But Of course I agree 3D is much better for exploration,running and going certain places and different enviroments.I did enjoy Adventure and Adventure 2 in most ways but they also had disadvantages too, I agree 06 was mediocore and could have been improved but it was rushed and unfinished,Heroes had replay value and it was fast paced but also glitchy at times too most games suffered a few problems I’ll admit…

But I’ve been okay with them I’ve only had issues with 06 and Heroes and I don’t hate Chao Gardens I didn’t pay much attention to them in the past while playing the Adventure games then I later got to see what they were like It can be fun playing with your chao and taking care Sonic Unleashed had Chao collecting stages too and…..Sonic Rivals 2 also featured games involving chao…the whole story involved except they didn’t have Chao gardens of course I wouldn’t mind them comming back but supposebly not all the time.

Of course it doesn’t have to be SA3 but I just wonder why do people still want it when SEGA moved on from the gameplay years ago….maybe having a game like playable like Advneture but not really keen on a SA3 \:

I know a lot of people will disagree with me But Colors suffered a lot of problems, it didn’t seem fun to me like Unleashed had, I haven’t even bothered unlocking Super Sonic I feel Colours has more 2D sections that 3D and with the cheap deaths and bad jokes and humor it doesn’t really stand out to me I find Unleashed (HD) superior than Colours in my opinion I even enjoyed the DS Version of Colours more than the Wii of course the game does have it’s good moments too but I don’t think it was a huge step up can get boring and tedious at times too I haven’t touched that game in a while either :/ but it’s fine I guess just not as good as I expected it to be…

Yeah they were supporting characters and you could play them at certain times in all 3 stories as you access and play through the story mode, Sonic Rivals 2 featured half of the cast…I buy Rivals then Rivals 2 or watch a playthrough on youtube it will make perfect sense

Just look
Adventure gamestyle: 2 games.
Heroes playstyle: 2 games (I mean speed gameplay not 3 characters) change
06 (it was good playstyle but had flaws like changing characters in levels IMO there should be character dedicated stages like in SA and SA2)
Unleashed playstyle: 3 games and… change? I think so this is great oppurnity to make SA3!

I think this might finally redeem Sonic after A downfall of bad games. Sonic Unleashed was a good start, Sonic 4 help a bit more, and Colors gave us the speed we come to expect from the blue dude with attitude. I’ve been A fan of Sonic since I got Sonic Mega Collection Plus, I’m only 12 and played every Sonic game there is. People need to stop criticising little problems (Sonic’s Eyes) and need to take time to thank Sega for trying different ideas. Not to be rude, but at least its not like Mario, keeping the same storyline of Princess Peach getting kidnapped. My point is, Sega, I love your games, I love Sonic, and I hope to look forward to future Sonic games, Also, maybe try to create movies since your good at 3D rendering.

Well, it has come to this… 20 years of sonic in the making. The game looks awesome, but I have a few concerns involving gamplay. One of them are that Modern Sonic’s move set is much too overwhealming compared to Classic Sonic’s (more than triple of the old school hedgehog’s). Second, Classic Sonic’s stages are in 2D and can be considered shorter than Modern Sonic’s levels. And third, and most obvious, Modern Sonic is faster than Classic Sonic. However, I think the former of which will be appreciated by fans of the classics( such as myself). Despite these thoughts (that critics might agree with), I think this will be an exciting and fun game for old and new fans of the Blue Blur. GO SONIC!!!

@C.J – The new voice actor I hate the most is Shadow’s. Man… I’d prefer Jason over him. The new voice actor for Shadow sounds like he’s trying too hard to sound evil.

Hi there since I am here I’ll join discusion.
My favourite voice actor for Shadow was David Humprey. He was perfect voice for Shadow.
I liked Jason too. He really improved and his shadow voice was really good in Black Knight.

For the record Amy new voice IS Minnie Mouse actress.

The changes in VA I like are Silver new voice (for some people Capella ruined this character) another one is Blaze new voice its really good.

Back to game maybe they include other character skins in DLC. But yeah SOLLA-SONICA begins to suck. It all began because of fanbase that rushed Sonic 06. I am sure that if this game wouldnt be rushed We would have annoucment of Sonic Adventure 3 today instead of SG.

After fall of Dreamcast I needed to choose new company and that was difficult.

No one’s claiming we’re special. We’re just wondering why such a shoddy business model is being used. This isn’t about some childish competition of who gets the most exclusives; We’re talking about what would work out best for both customers and profit. This could have been an easy cash in for them. It really isn’t hard to at least make something similar for the Wii. Other devs have done so on qualities almost identical, HD or not. Again, we’re not asking to be given away Sonic Generations. We WILL be paying money for it. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with asking a company to continue to do business with you. That’s the free market at work there.

I am confused why would you release sonic 4 for $15 and then release generations which looks better has the better sonic and is a full game for $60. That seems wrong if there is to be an episode 2 how bout $10 and more than 4 levels. But still generations looks like the real sonic game we have been waiting for,hope ya don’t screw it up with morphing or playing as big or Amy, and for god sake stop the egg man crap. Its sad that they never patched or remade that game it had that much potential but I still enjoy it its really good especially last boss I think Solaris along with Final Hazard are most epic bosses in Sonic games.

I definetely agree with you on Solaris and Final Hazard the Most Epic bosses in Any Sonic Games While Dark Gaia comes a close second along with Metal Overlord behind and um…maybe a tie bewteen Sonic Riders Zero gravity Boss and The Secret Rings boss :L

I’m still wondering If I should of sold it or not :L….and yes indeed it’s sad SA2 didn’t get patched or remade…maybe cause of SA2B possibly?

Ah right yeah It’s a real shame It’s too bad SEGA were working on it but then decided to put it on PS3 too but then that lead to not having enough time to work on the 360 which ended with Sony/Microsoft rushing them to and pushing the realease date forward while somef ans also requested for the game to come out quickly O_O lot of stuff huh…

It’s too late now but…you know what I’m going to CEX To get a copy of 06 To see if it’s still there I should probably try on Xbox sicne my PS3 is being replaced Since my old one broke down and yeah i heard about PSN and Sony I really feel sorry for the people who did have PSN BTW did u have an account?

Of course I respect your opinion and agree with you in many ways I’m now playing Adventure and Unleashed It’s the perfect way to Celebrate the big 2-0 in style

I also plan to play all the rest of the games too Rush, Rush Adventure,Rivals, Rivals 2, Black Knight,Secret Rings, All Stars Racing – Spin Offs,Main games,Specials you name em

I’m also planning to see if Heroes,Riders and Shadow are being selled on gamecube in Past Generation Shops like C.J Mentioned above…CEX etc etc This will certainly be fun enough time to play them while waiting for the release of Generations,London Olympics and other future titles

I won’t be able to play 06 though since it decided to let it go

I own All 3 main consles PS3, Xbox and Wii So this won’t be a problem for me

Roll on the Big 2-0……20 I say!

Its sad that your PS3 broke. I’ve got mine since relase and it never broke down.
Diffrences? There are some of them those I noticed:
SA2 has better soundtrack but its because of porting you cant port music perfectly but its still good (I bought soundtrack of SA2)
SA2 has slighty better graphics and fremate.
SA2B has more multiplayer options but SA2 has downloable content.
I think thats all both have advantages and disadvantages.

Sadly I cant just go to CEX and buy. I dont live in UK or US. And even if I could my Dreamcast is broken and I dont think I’ll buy GC for just one game.
But I’ll keep my fingers crossed for port. Thanks for hope;)

I have finished heroes and riders already(all missions on riders still a-ranking heroes). I almost finished Shadow the Hedgehog just five A ranks left (ark flashbacks are such hard missions to a-rank)
There are some missions left in 06 (still S-ranking) and 30-35 emblems to get in Adventure. So only SA2 left.
SEGA PLEASE RELASE PORT!!!

And BTW ShTH is prrety good game it has loads of replayability.

Lets hope this 06 copy will wait for you;) excluding the bugs and some glitches its a prrety good game but this unused content listed on sonic retro is just sad.
About PS3 you should go to Sony service. Sometimes you can even fix YLOD for nice price.
