I agree with most of it but Chaos Control is practical in combat as it warps time AND space, so in theory Shadow could turn one of Vegeta’s attacks back at him.

I would imagine shadow being stepped on like the rat he is. From the beginning.
The question is, did sega rip off the SUPER powers as mentioned in the video?

Seeing how Screw Attack did this, I’m not surprised with the outcome. I consider Screw Attack to be biased against the Sonic series. Their community did vote Sonic and the Black Knight worst Wii game of 2009 afterall.
Next time on death battle is Mario vs. Sonic, I’m guessing Mario will win knowing Screw Attack.

I think they messed up by not letting Shadow use Chaos control to manipulate time. Shadow would have won for sure. They kinda dropped the ball on that. They even mentioned it at the beginning so I don’t understand why he never actually USED it.

How is it that chaos blast did nothing when every other weaker attack by Shadow blasted Vegeta like 1000mph into the floor? And if Shadow survived a fall from space when he wasn’t even Super Shadow why does Vegetas final flash take him down immediately? I personaly agree that Vegeta would probably win but there are a few things you might have overlooked.

I vote Vegeta. Shadow is based off Vegeta anyway, and Vegeta can be funny in some situations, Shadow is sickeningly serious and moody all the time.
I’m not going to go indepth with abilities, because it’s obvious Shadow is still no match for Vegeta no matter what. Only Sonic could stand a chance against a DBZ character somewhat, and that’s thanks to his Hyper form.
To put it in another way, Shadow’s blows would tickle Vegeta, and his Chaos Blast is a joke compared to what Vegeta can do in terms of Ki powers.
Vegeta could speed-teleport behind Shadow before the black hedgehog could say “Control!” And even if he slows/stops time, like I said, Shadow can’t do anything to harm Vegeta too much. The difference in strength is brutal. Can shadow pulverize a whole mountain by punching it?

After watching the video and thinking about it, I don’t really think it was that far off. Sure, Shadow is invincible in his Super form and all, and is incredibly powerful in his own right, but I think when it comes to battle tactics, stamina and overall power, Vegeta seems like the more likely candidate to win the fight in the long run. He’ll take his beatings, but he’ll still get right back up and keep fighting. Shadow isn’t all the different, actually, but I don’t think he’d be able to keep up with Vegeta either–especially since the latter isn’t above fighting a little dirty.
Now Mario VS Sonic next week… hoo-boy. I’ll pull for Sonic, personally, but I guess you never know, right?

Bahaha! Good stuff. I’m interested in the next episode.
And for the record: pretty sensible fight. Shadow used all of his skills at maximum power. Vegeta used almost all of them, but then he’s hideously powerful, as are all the Saiyans in DBZ, so there you go.
Now, Hyper Sonic vs. Star Mario. That’s a hell of a matchup.

Yeah, there might be some bias there. Considering that Shadow got a pretty fair run, and got his chops in, and his arrogance doing him in was perfectly canonical. DBZ is pretty well-established and having their antihero prevail in a close fight is fair.
Sonic v. The Plumber will be more telling, as people have noted

shadow should have won. Because shadow can freeze time, and his superform would have speeded up the time need to freeze time. shadow could have frozen vegeta in time after slaming him to the ground then land a deathblow then vegeta was frozen. It”s cheap but it works for me.

The first thing that bothered me were the numbers they pulled out of nowhere… 1,000% more powerful? What reference are they using for that? The other thing that irked me was Shadow’s ability to fall from space to the earth… I don’t blame them for not knowing this, but it was revealed in Shadow the Hedgehog (the game) that Eggman sent his robots to rescue him while he was still falling towards earth. Also, Shadow can’t breathe underwater… at least nothing confirms this ability, anyway. When he’s Super, that’s another story.
I don’t doubt that Vegeeta would beat Shadow in a fight, though. I mean, pretty much every major character from the Dragonball series is broken beyond belief.

omg…the two characters who I dispise the most…
alright
Shadow would be white in the battle..sega, being hte idiots that they are, changed it yellow because of sonic. white/silver=the negitive for black just as Yellow=the negitive of blue…I know…HOW COULD THAT BE!?
next…vagita…eh…I don’t watch enough DBZ because it just got boring.
Shadow could be able to exsplote time and space with only just one chaos emreald through chaos warp. (what he does in Sonic adventure 2)
then, if he has two chaos emrealds he could control time to go backwards/ forwards. with all 7 chaos chaos emrealds + super form…he could probably stop time, AT LEST slow it down enough to kill or harm Vageta in some way.
all this is fanboy loyalty imo.
also
sonic will beat Mario..for the simple fact that he’s faster then Mario and can dodge any pathetic fireball attacks he has :3

I personally believe they forgot a few key factors about Shadow. While most of us noticed that they claimed Chaos Control was “impractical,” they forgot that the super forms don’t neccessarily run out after a time limit. Keep in mind, In Sonic Unleashed, Super Sonic didn’t need rings to maintain the form, they were used to power it up more. [/spoiler] In Sonic Advance, Sonic lasted two weeks in his super form after his battle with Robotnik if I recall the ending correctly. I’m assuming Shadow could use these powers as well, considering his proficiency with Chaos Energy. Also, Vegeta isn’t the only one that can increase his level. Shadow removed his rings from his wrists so his power should have increased further. They also forgot the Hyper form, but I’m not certain if Shadow can attain that. Finally, I’m certain Shadow wouldn’t try teleporting his opponent away repeatedly. Shadow enjoys worth opponents and he openly fights one on one to prove his strength.
Overall, I’m not doubting that Vegeta could handle Shadow, I just believe they should have handled the battle slightly better.

What? THATS IMPOSSIBLE SHADOW HAS NEVER LOST A FIGHT! Damn this sucks! In most of the Sonic games (refering to Sonic the Hegdheog ’06) You can hold the Super form for more then a few minutes as long as you have rings to refuel the power. And i know there are many other techniques that Shadow could have used to thwart his enemy, the attacks used here are not even half of his full potiential even with the chaos emeralds!
But i do agree (though it REALLY pains me to say so) in most battles with Shadow, a huge boss/opponent is often fought with an ally i.e. Sonic and Silver the hedgehog so the enemy was often defeated in a lesser time. In this case Shadow was alone against his opponent. Still Super Shadow without the inhibitor rings is 1000% more powerful, although his power lasted only a short while, he should have easily defeated Vegeta since his power was not as severe.
All in all, i really object the video and disapprve the outcome

They forgot chaos rift which can automatically kill an opponent, and also when shadow had his rings off he was 1000% more powerful and that should have made him even more while vegeta was still at 1000% so really shadow’s chaos blast could have been more powerful than majin vegeta’s blowing up attack and also super shadow IS INVINCIBLE nothing can make a super mobian (mobian because super saiyans have their name like that) and also shown in shadow the hedgehog (just remembered) shadow also gains another invincible boost whenever he gets the gauge to where he can use chaos blast making even more powerful and since vegeta couldnt be back to majin vegeta again shadow would have had the upper hand, by the way cause i can tell mario is has a higher chance over sonic of winning (cause of all the nintendo fans) sonic has more hidden moves and only shows some- sonic wind which can target an opponent from any distance making a tornado and even becoming lightning and also there sonic’s dark form which is pretty even with super sonic and mario couldnt even effect him and mario’s super form to clear up JUST MAKES MARIO FLY or at least try to and mario’s cape only takes one hit to be done with while super sonic is invincible and also sonic and shadow have many simularities so sonic is really close to being as powerful as shadow saying he should have many other secrets of wind he can use, oh yeah and mario’s invincibillity and sonic’s are around the same so literally if they were invincible together they would just be fighting each other again plus mario needs items like the fire flower and other items to throw fire balls and other attacks so it might classify as helping cause they’re items and anyways refrencing from ssbb mario’s final smash was really weak and maybe one of the worst but if it really is his best attack (he cant use it in normal form so its gone) sonic can easily dodge it several times over and mario will eventually lose energy and also clarifying- if items are gone sonic cant use the wisps or invincibillity so same for mario and mario’s normal form can only attack like any other human so really it might be sonic vs a normal human who would you think would win then?

Okay so you have
Vegeta:
Super speed, super strength, martial master, energy projectiles, ultimate form that he can stay in DAYS FOR, mega blasts and a powerful self destruct attack.
vs
Shadow: Super speed, beams and an explosive attack…thats it. No super strength, no martial arts, no fighting prowess what so ever…and his ultimate form only lasts a couple of minutes.
Okay so Shadow cant hit Vegeta hand to hand, hed have to use nothing but beams. Shadow DOESNT have a speed advantage, and he can only stay “super” a short stint in time. Vegeta is fast, a master fighter, up close and long range and is “super” for a LONG TIME.
So Shadow would just use his abilities and flee until he ran out and Vegeta would snap him like a twig.
VEGETA WINS

I have not clue what sort of tricks that DBZ characters have, but I still root for Shadow. For one, they didn’t even include all of his powers, or let him use more than one at the same time (in the pieces I saw). For one, Shadow has the ability to freeze time, as others have stated. Second, he was designed as the ULTIMATE lifeform, and has proven to be un-killable, even without the 7 chaos emeralds. But return to the ultimate lifeform part. I’m pretty sure if he can kill Sonic AND a giant, military robot (Shadow the Hedgehog the video game), and the pansies who claim that Sonic can kill… Veegeta is his name? Than Shadow should, by the rules of all definition, be able to defeat this foe. I rest my case.

at the end why shadow didn´t moved with his hyperspeed? use chaos rift, spear, speed, attack and more of his chaos powers? As a hardocore sonic/shadow fan this should end as draw or a slighly win by vegeta SIGHLY!and shadow wouldn´t die he is inmortal! it would end as shadow´s retreat! shadow can do more, alot more but i would take the whole website to write about shadow´s skills

In the battle between Sonic and Mario, however, there’s no way Mario should win. Mario will be launching fire balls, and Sonic will be dodging everything and hitting Mario twenty times a second. Mario has got nothing on Sonic.

I resent comment 10. Sega changed his personality from Shadow the Hedgehog the game onward.
He has a sadistical, evil sense of humor. He used to smirk all throughout Sonic Adventure 2.
And when Sonic and his friends confront him in Heroes, the dialogue goes like this.
Sonic: Didn’t you know? We have a date with Eggman too!
Shadow: Well then, it’ll be a date to DIE for!
He always had an air of superiority.
Shadow did about as well as I figured he would vs Vegeta except, Shadow wouldn’t warp Vegeta away like that. That doesn’t fit his style. He’s no coward.

I shall end all talk right now.
Shadow transported Vegeta to the moon, right? Vegeta should have died on his way back. The fastest time anything has blitzed from the Earth to the moon is 58,800 km/h. It took 8 and a half hours.
If Vegeta were able to fly at those speeds, he could fly around the Earth in under a second. This has not been done by Vegeta. Ever.
But even if I’m wrong, he can’t survive 8 and a half hours in space. Even if he could hold his breath that long (a Sperm Whale can only hold its breath for 90 minutes, mind you), his blood would have evaporated from the lack of external pressure in about 5 minutes. Shadow wins!

Vegeta’s power level might be over 9,000, but Shadow’s is over 9,000,000! Vegeta might be some evil space prince guy from what I’ve heard but Shadow is the ultimate lifeform, plus I really don’t think Vegeta has enough speed or stamina to actually keep up with Shadow especially if Shadow uses Chaos Control & I’d say Chaos Blast would take care of Vegeta & if Vegeta somehow managed to make it this far he’d pretty much encounter Super Shadow who as Chaos Spear & al of his normal attacks & powers but a heck of a lot more powerful than usual. I MIGHT see Vegeta as powerful as Black Doom or possibly Final Hazard, but Shadow has beaten both of those guys so that tells you something.

I have to agree with some of the comments on here about them forgeting some of Shadow’s abilities. Shadow also isn’t the type to teleport/Chaos control his opponents multiple times unless it was absolutely necessary; he’d rather fight right were he was as it is in his nature. I also noticed that some people mentioned Shadow’s immortality as if he can’t die in his natural form. I think that Shadow could be killed if he was hit just right but he wouldn’t age, so what Vegeta did after Shadow’s Super form wore off is plausible in my opinion.
Exerted from Wikipedia (beware as it contains spoilers to SA2 and Shadow the Hedgehog):
Several characters from the Sonic the Hedgehog series are immortal including Shadow the Hedgehog, Chaos and Black Doom. The most frequently recurring character, Shadow, is an artificial life form created aboard the Space Colony ARK that is explicitly declared ‘immortal’. He was forced to witness the murder of Maria Robotnik, his best (and possibly only) friend, which creates a chasm between the other characters and himself and so has played antagonistic roles at times. However, neither Black Doom or Shadow are invincible. It is implied that Shadow destroyed Black Doom in Shadow the Hedgehog (which would make Black Doom Biologically Immortal), and Shadow himself was almost killed in Sonic Adventure 2; it is implied that he would have died if he wasn’t rescued by Dr Eggman. It is possible that Shadow, being Black Dooms biological son, had inherited his Biological Immortallity. It is also possible that due to the purpose behind his creation, he is immune to illness.
Although I am a Shadow fangirl, I think Vegeta really would have won in an actual fight, but that is just my opinion and many can/will debate it.

I’m a huge fan of both Sonic and Mario, having played most of the games of both. With my extensive knowledge, I’d say there are ways for both to win, but if you made it a normal bout allowing for no external help, Mario can’t touch Sonic. But these fights always allow all kinds of crap, and there is ALWAYS a bias. They’ll give Mario access to all his abilities while screwing Sonic out of his most basic abilities. That’s just how these things are done. They’ll even vastly reduce Super Sonic’s power, which should take out Mario without trouble.
Basically, like several folks said, the outcome of the next bout will prove if they’re biased or not. If Sonic wins… they may just have a modicum of integrity. If Mario wins… they’re sellouts. That’s that.

Shadow’s “Hyper Form” isn’t really a rip off, seeing as Sonic has had the ability to go super sonic ever since the beginning..

They forgot the various sub-powers Chaos Control offers, notably the ones derived from his ability to control and distort space, giving him abilities like Chaos Magic, Chaos, Burst, Chaos Nightmare, Chaos Rift, etc.

is it just me or did they go way to one sided with this cause that whole timed super form thing is only in the games to make it more challenging if they where going to use the rules of both the video games and the anime for Shadow then they should have done the same for Vegeta, and Vegeta really sucks in all the games so in my opinion Vegeta is stronger but Shadow’s speed with both movement and attacks where he doesn’t have to really charge them would win hands down

shadow has the ability to use chaos control which controls time and space so shadow could easily doge and of vegetas attacks plus in his super form he can go at lightspeed vegeta can’t even in ssj 4. Also shadow was built to be the ultimate lifeform, so he proabaly is a master in every form of martial arts and could kick vegeta’s lame ass
