The House of the Dead: Overkill – Extended Cut Announced!Murderous mutant mayhem with Move and 3D support exclusive to Playstation 3!
When we released The House of the Dead: OVERKILL for Wii, one of the most common things we heard is the wish that it be on a next gen console. Your wishes have been heard and answered! That mutant massacring B-Movie blood fest, The House of the Dead: OVERKILL, is coming to the Playstation 3 with some great extras! The House of the Dead: OVERKILL Extended Cut is presented for the first time in spectacular high definition with 3D support and Playstation Move compatibility on the Playstation3. This gruesome shooter puts you in the middle of a mutant outbreak in Bayou County. The extended cut has all seven stages of the original re-mastered, and two brand new scenarios added, so the baddest just got bigger! Using a host of weapons, watch your back as Mutants go mad for blood! Blast bloody pieces out of their wretched bodies as you work to uncover the mystery behind the outbreak. New goodies like Playstation trophies, new game modes, and new content are outnumbered by only one thing: bullets. Will you defeat everything this freakish nightmare town throws at you or will you become Mutant chowder? “The House of the Dead: OVERKILL Extended Cut on Playstation 3 will send players to the shrieking mad heart of mutant mayhem. This time we went further, faster and bloodier than before. We extended everything, even the title.” – Said Gary Knight of SEGA. Experience 3D so real you’ll still be crying late into the night, and Move support so moving you’ll place every shot right between the eyes! The House of the Dead: OVERKILL Extended Cut is due for release October 28, 2011 in Europe, and October 25th, 2011 in the United States exclusively for Playstation Move and the Playstation 3. Prepare to see more at E3, if you dare! You can see and download all the screens from our Flickr. For more information please visit www.sega.com/overkill/

So glad you’re finally porting this to the PS3 Sega. I’ll be putting a pre-order down no questions asked. I’ve been dying to get some House of the Dead next gen gaming on even though I still enjoy playing my Saturn and Dreamcast especially for this series. Now if only you guys would give us the Dreamcast 2 I’d be in heaven.

OH YEAH! Rollin’ with Agent G is what I want to do! Between this and Virtua Tennis…SEGA is forcing me to pick up a 3D TV.

Booo, why make games for a near dead console? A company that can’t even keep its security tight. Really was hoping for a 360 port with kinect compatibility. But it is nice to see Sega churning out some of the classic arcade games with newer technology! House of the Dead always has been my favorite shoot em up!

This is pretty great and all… but can we get a port of House of the Dead 4, as well?

@MercOne near dead? ps3 is stronger than ever, just keep on hating jealous troll, just because companies love sony, doesnt mean you have to hate on us, so go back on your crappy kinect with your kinectimals, we man will play real games
@Sega, good call, you guys are that awesome

#3 – Near dead? Wow, what a crap comment. PS3 has some of the greatest first party line-ups this generation. It is the most powerful and perfect for this game.
Yeah, it sucks that Xbox 360 doesn’t get this, since it has absolutely no good exclusives this year except for Gears of War 3. I hope SEGA change their mind, too, for everyone’s sake.

Hmmm. SEGA… what about the news some time ago, about having House of the dead: OVERKILL 2 on Wii?
Hope you’re still going to make a Overkill 2 (Don’t care on what system it lands… I just want more B-Movie Gore and excessive swearing!!!)

Huge Fan! Please release more arcade HOTD, big market for zombie games! I just hope u can release HOTD4 as that’s currently has the most advanced and fast gameplay best by far!! Found overkill on the wii very light weight and slow going! Enjoy the adrenaline rush from survival horror!! If not do you sell the console used for HOTD4 with the guns and game? If not Xbox have now brought out a light gun and have kinect.. so don’t that deserve so loving for the fans. Also consider dlc on XBLA, may save on costs on production. Thanks J

Very excited for this! Thank you, Sega! I knew I made the right decision when I asked for a Move for Christmas. Any chance of getting the HOTD2 & 3 bundle for PS3, as well?

or was it HOTD 3 & 4? I don’t know. Don’t have a Wii. Whichever it was, I hope to see it ported.

Hmm, between this, No More Heroes and (I think) Resi 4 a lot of the Wii’s “adult” exclusives are getting PS3 ports… not that I’m complaining… Now, if it were Samba getting a port I might even pick Move up… I’ve missed decent lightgun games since I got a HD monitor my Dreamcast gun doesn’t work with though. Maybe if the port’s decent I’ll give this a go. PSN Virtua Cop next, please.
The people asking for a 360 port need to remember that Move & the Wiimote have a lot more in common than Kinnect, and the 360 doesn’t have”true” 3D yet (I hope to see it announced at E3 so there’ll be more cross-platform support for it); so obviously PS3 was more likely. Of course, I’ve never used Kinnect, so I don’t know if it’d be decent for lightgun-style games- only that it’s probably harder than porting to Move.

That’s all nice and all, but where is my House of the Dead 4? Or Virtua Cop 3?
I envision it as this The House of the Dead 4/Sega Golden Gun double pack on PSN. And a Virtua Cop Trilogy pack for PSN or Wii?
PLEASE PLEASE SEGA YOU SAY YOU LSITEN TO YOUR FANS!

lol ps3. Let’s see… buy this game and move…. or just buy it for wii… lol sony, stop flailing about and just drown. Everyone knows if you weren’t JUST a game company, you’d be worse off than Sega, only sega games are awesome. Sega has a certain charm that still manages to come through. Sonic’s getting back in touch with his roots, but Sony? Sony exclusive games are repetitive and dull. Their marketing sucks, and the only decent games are Little Big Planet and multiplatform games. PSN sucks. I’m not a Microsoft fan, but I really wish I bought an Xbox and spent the money I saved on XLive time. At least then I could play with my friends without having to go to their place. Sony’s just a bad joke. No security, no games, most expensive system… I haven’t touched my PS3 in months. Don’t even get me started on how Blu-ray is a technological step backward and all they do is push it. They’ve even admitted that their trying to emulate the WiiU with the Vita and ps3. Their dual analog controllers were even stolen from a joypad made by microsoft in the early 90s. Sony is unoriginal and the gaming community would be much better off without them. /rant
All that aside, I love HoTD!
