This is exciting news for me & my friends on XBLA, we love SEGA RALLY ONLINE, and this will go along side it very well.
Now all we need on XBLA is Space Harrier HD

What a great surprise!! Thanks SEGA!! It’s nice to see another SEGA arcade classic hits a console. I hope this is a further step to bring much more classic arcade games to console (for example VIRTUA STRIKER 4!!!!!!
)
Please consider bringing a retail version of it too, even just in a limited number of maybe 5000 pieces. Just for us SEGA collectors

I’m not sure how the whole process works behind the scenes, but if it’s possible to release a retail version, add my vote to the list, though I have no problems with it being download. Otherwise, this is the best news to wake up to. Like others I’ve hoped for a console release of the game, though it felt unlikely it would happen. Great to be proven wrong. Thanks to everyone involved in this release.

Yuss!
I’ve been dying for an updated version of VF5 to get localized! Shame about the lack of a disc release.
Also : Valkyria Chronicles 3. Playing an imported UMD of a game with a much stronger story than VC2 is a cruel, cruel irony. Please localize it!

At the risk of sounding like a “GIMMIE” fan, I think it’d be great to have VF5R stages included, even if it’s DLC. I think this is a great chance to make this the most complete version of VF5, especially for those of us who only got to experience VF5 through the PS3/X360 releases, and lacking those stages (or anything else exclusive to VF5R like the music), the experience wouldn’t feel complete. Not asking to put in the VF5R mechanics or everything included on the retail version of VF5, though I’d be the last to complain if that happened, lol.
And I might as well toss the question, if there’s a possibility to add subtitles to the intro and victory quotes?
Again, thanks, and looking forward to hearing more.

Fantastic news Sega, but come on, folks… get this on a retail DISC along with the download so MORE VF fans will buy it! Not everyone has access to decent broadband in the USA (unfortunately)…

Awesome! You guys rock! I’m glad you haven’t forgotten about Virtua Fighter. I’m definitely playing this at PAX this weekend.
…and a small request: I would love to see this on a portable system like 3DS. It’d be nice to see you show up Dead or Alive with a better game on that system.

ALRIGHT…YEAHHHHHHH!!!
Finally you guys did it…a bit late, but definitely better late than never!…so I’m not complaining
I hope you guys but it on DISC, cause I’d like to buy it as a gift for my brother and friends (I’m trying to get people into this truelly unique and superior fighting experience).
And I would seriously pay $$$ for extra content, especially stages and BGMs from VF version R…so I hope you guys will keep monitoring and supporting the game

Very happy to hear about this. I’ve been a VF fan since the beginning and consider it to be the absolute best fighting game. I will buy Final Showdown and appreciate the opportunity to play and own this final version here in the U.S. You rock, Sega.

Well thank you, Sega. It’s taken a good while (though I personally don’t mind as I’ve never touched VF aside from 2) but it’s nice to see you want to bring FS to everyone.
Just…don’t go announcing VF6 right afterwards or anything. That would sorta suck.

Finally! I’ve been waiting for this for so long! Just a couple of requests:
-include a tutorial mode like VF4 evo to allow new players to learn how to play the game
-include spectator/tournament modes
-DLC any new balance tweaks down the line
can’t wait for it to come out!

Four DLC, I would like the stages from VF5R (and also the stages for Akira, Brad, Jacky, Eileen, and Shun from VF5) and the character and training stage themes from all previous installments (VF1, VF2, VF3, VF4, VF4E, VF4FT, VF5, and VF5R, including the alternate versions of Akira’s Aoi’s, Jean’s, and Kage’s VF5R themes).
