Guardian Heroes Fights its Way to Xbox LIVE Arcade this October
Guardian Heroes, Treasure’s classic Action-RPG brawler for the SEGA Saturn, arrives on Xbox LIVE Arcade on October 12th . Players will be able to experience all of the original title’s side-scrolling action in fully re-mastered HD, both alone and with up to 12 friends online, for 800 Microsoft Points. Guardian Heroes isn’t just about beating up bad guys, with a storyline full of twists and turns players will enjoy one of five completely unique boss fights, as well as more than half a dozen possible endings. To showcase the potential ways players can punch, kick, chop and stab and their way through Guardian Heroes, SEGA and Treasure have released a new gameplay trailer.
Look for Guardian Heroes this October!

Looking forward to it. When we hear of everything being re-released except for Saturn games, Treasure delivers. Q4 is looking pretty good this year.

How many players can play in the same console in LOCAL Multiplayer? 4 players?
I remember that in Sega Saturn I played 6 players with Multitap!

“Fully re-mastered HD”? I’m sorry but that’s simply not true, except for the HUD and some artwork none of the in-game graphics were re-mastered. The title even appears to have dropped the mention of “HD” entirely and for a good reason. They simply applied a scaling algorithm to the original sprites and blurred out the backgrounds (which look absolutely terrible now). While the character sprites and new HUD are a arguably a minor improvement, there’s no way I’d play the game with the blurred backgrounds. I hope they’ll at least give us the option to select which filters are applied to the game instead of just letting us choose between the “Saturn mode” and “Filtered mode”, because neither of those options delivers the best result in my opinion. I’ll still end up buying it though, if only because I want to see Sega release the Panzer Dragoon games on XBLA and PSN (NiGHTS would be a nice addition as well).

What happened to PSN? O_o I’ll buy it on the PSN not bothered about the XBLA, what was the point of just releasing it on Xbox? Sega could have gotten more selling it on both, now it’s only on one console some people will lose interest in buying it as it’s taken so long. I’d buy it tho LOL as me & my cousins would play this for crazy hours on the Saturn. Hope the PSN version gets an exclusive extra for waiting or even the HD better graphics as the Xbox peeps are saying the graphics are quite rubbish to be honest. Sega make your fans proud for the PSN!!!
