Ai-Ai and Friends are Living la Vita LocaWe’re excited to announce that the latest title in the popular Super Monkey Ball series is coming exclusively to the PlayStation Vita early in 2012. Everybody’s favorite monkeys AiAi, MeeMee, Baby and GonGon are back for more banana collecting fun in Super Monkey Ball* for PlayStationVita. Exclusively designed for the PlayStation Vita’s unique functions, the game continues the motion-based experience of the previous adventure whilst making full use of the dual analog sticks and front/back-touch controls. The puzzling primates return with all-new worlds, original mini-games and updated graphics, adding a fresh new vibrancy to Super Monkey Ball on PlayStation Vita. Players can manage each monkey’s momentum to navigate narrow ledges, moving platforms and loads of challenging obstacles. Roll your chosen ape to the goal by taking full advantage of the capabilities offered by the innovative new Vita handheld console, and challenge up to four friends in Wi-Fi enabled multiplayer modes. Fans can also enjoy revamped classic games such as the much-loved Monkey Target, along with other exciting brand new additions. “Since evolving onto the current generation of consoles, the Super Monkey Ball franchise has always offered innovative game design, challenging the hardware capabilities for all the consoles it has released on” said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA Europe and SEGA of America. “Super Monkey Ball on PlayStation Vita is a great opportunity to experience the exciting features that the PlayStation Vita offers, and the SEGA development team are bringing a exciting new experience whilst staying true to the franchise.”
Super Monkey Ball for PlayStation Vita system is set to release in 2012.

My only wish is that SEGA bring back what made Super Monkey Ball 1&2 classics
the arcade rock hard insane gameplay and difficulty which made you really feel you achieved something when completing each level. Even a re-release of these two on both Vita and 3DS would be super cool

Interesting design change. I sort of like the idea of making some of it look like those old tin toys.

Glad to see the Super Monkey Ball series arrive on more platforms again, even if the last few games were pretty weak. Is this game developed by DIMPS like the last few games too? If so, my interest has gone down a bit, even if the Vita functions could add a lot to the franchise.
Also, is there any chance for an XBLA/PSN/Steam release of Super Monkey Ball Deluxe? The game is begging for a rerelease!
ALSO ALSO, what ever happened to YanYan and Doctor?! They were great characters!
