We know that so many of you are excited for the upcoming release of Guardian Heroes on XBLA. To help tide you over, we’re going to be revealing concept art, sketches, and more each week until the October 12th release date.
As you may have already guessed, we’re kicking off with Ginjirou, the protagonist from Guardian Heroes.
Giant Bomb has some great character bios for all the Guardian Heroes, so you can brush up if you need a refresher. Here’s their bio for Gijirou:
Ninja protagonist from Guardian Heroes. Has a wide arsenal of moves and an affinity for lightning magic.
Ginjirou is said to have joined the Guardian Heroes in the hope of finding a famous sword known as Muramasa, a sword that is believed to be so powerful that it acquired a soul. He comes across as the most reserved and formal of the game’s main characters, as well as the oldest.
Ginjirou is one of the five characters who can be played as in the game’s story mode, as well as one of the forty-five or so who can be controlled in versus mode.

Of the Guardian Heroes, he is the most mobile as he has many attacks that launch him across the screen, and can usually go further in a single movement than any of his comrades. This makes the ninja well suited to hit and run tactics, a handy skill when facing multiple enemies.
Ginjirou is also fairly adept at magic, specializing in the use of electricity. His most damaging spell usually is his thunder palm, which can be strung together several times for a large combo, and tends to do especially brutal damage to large enemies and robots.

Guardian Heroes will be out on October 12th for XBLA.

I would tend to use Randy, my friend used Ginjirou. We were always amused how that lightning move of his sounded like he says “Akuma string thing”.

Let’s all hope that this is the first of a long series of long-overdue Saturn re-releases. Let’s hope even more that they make their way to PSN also.

Me and my buddy used to swear that when he did his special lightning attack, he’d say, ” Sucking on my bing bing!”

Yeah! Keep the character art coming, please!
Gingirou is my favorite character to play as!
I know it’s pretty late to be adding features, if this isn’t something that’s already planned, but I’d really like to be able to do a 4-player co-op mode with my friends online. I’ve done 2-player co-op to death on Saturn, and with so many classic 4-player brawlers (X-Men, Ninja Turtles, to say nothing of Castle Crashers!) available it seems weird to restrict GH’s co-op to 2-player only!

i can’t explain in words how excited i am for the re-release of this game. about 3-4 years of my childhood consisted of nothing more than beating this game with every playable character, and choosing every path (not to mention utterly destroying all of the heroes in the arena with Valgar, several times over). i hope you guys add 4 player co-op in addition to the updated resolution. this is easily the best game released for the sega saturn, and it holds a special place in my heart, and now i get to share that experience with my son, in this generation!

Typo correction:
It’s a shame that people keep spreading the wrong impression that xbox only ***has*** shooter fans.
Castle Crashers, Braid, Trials HD, Limbo, Bastion, they all did well on XBLA.
And don’t forget the casual gamer base newly built-up this year by Kinect’s success.
(OK, I know GH is a rather hardcore game)
