I’ve never liked Silver the Hedgehog but I know you guys there at SEGA will make this an incredible game! Knuckles definitely needs a good part in the game! He’s a far more iconic rival/ally than Silver or maybe even Shadow!

It’s nice to see Silver in a proper boss fight. It does look like it’ll be entertaining, but I realized, this is the THIRD rival boss fight that’s going to be on a track. How much is this boss fight going to differ from Metal Sonic and Shadow beyond Silver lobbing big balls of city at people. Nitpicking? Probably, but I think Sonic Team could definitely come up with a way to present the boss battles without making them look like massive excuses to abuse the boost button. I’ll reserve judgement until the game comes out (which looks to be a GOOD one, mind you), but it just seems so…cheap right now. I can get Hold Boost to Win in Sonic Rush, but it shouldn’t be happening in a console Sonic title.

Regardless of my wet blanket act, I’ll probably have fun with this. I’d have more fun if they weren’t cut and pasting presentation like Colors did with recycling bosses.

No Knuckles as a rival then I take it? Really big missed chance there. Silver is such an awful character with such a bad reputation. At least Knuckles would make sense, seeing how he is as strong as Sonic is fast… There is a lot of potential there that they kind of forgot about, and it makes modern Knuckles seems so bland in comparison to what he used to be.

Whatever happened to half of the game being designed with classic fans in mind anyways? Seems like the modern Sonic stuff is 70% or more of the game…

I still think the game looks very good and am excited overall, but I figured because the classic Sonic stuff seems as if it is not returning for maybe a very long time after this that Sonic Team would have cared a little bit about those types of fans… There I go thinking again! IT’S NO UUUUUSE!

If you want to please old Sonic fans, please please please don’t include these Sonic Recolors in future games. They honestly look like shit. What the hell is that on his forehead? It looks like the kind of “original character” crap you see on deviantart. Why can’t this game just be about a blue hedgehog trying to stop Dr. Robotnik with the help of a two tailed Fox named Tails and maybe Knuckles. The storyline of the genesis games was a simple story that became two cartoon shows and a comic book. If you want to add new characters pick characters already canon to the SatAM/Archie comics franchise at least. Let me rephrase that, please pick only characters from the 90s. Everything else has gone to hell. You guys know that or you wouldn’t be making this game. Just make a game with classic sonic and classic sonic themes and characters. It’s not that complicated. No need for motorcycle riding, gun shooting hedgehogs or psychic, hairy chested future hedgehogs. Go back to your roots SEGA. Please don’t give us this shit.

I find it really sad a lot of you are getting all upset because Silver is in this game and that for some reason or another it ruins the game. I don’t see how, all you “old” sonic fans just want the same sonic over and over. And I guarantee if they did that then people would just bitch that it’s a copy and paste every game. I’m quite glad they’re bringing all these sonic characters in one game. This game will be great and I know what SEGA is doing to make this the best game it can be for ALL of those who enjoy sonic fans, not just the narrow-minded extremist elite sonic 1 fans.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU! Do you have mental damage? This game is for classic AND modern fans! Your Comment is the most pathetic thing i’ve ever seen (Sonic related) and If you think Sonic should stay the same forever just go play Sonic 1! I actually like Sonic games being different instead of just being copys! So I guess I can just get the game and have fun with it and you can cry about everything that isnt from sonic 1(I am a big fan of the genesis games but i also like the new ones).

P.S. Being a hedgehog doesnt make him a Sonic recolor.

I really wish people would stop whining about Silver and Shadow, they are as much a part of the francise as any of the other characters nowadays, I love all era’s of Sonic why can’t almost anyone else? if you want Sonic to be the absolute same go Play Sonic 1 and nothing else, me on the other hand likes variety.

I was pretty sure that Silver was pretty much a given in this game, and if anyone’s going to say that he instantly ruins the game, so should Crisis City, which has seen a lot of praise. Considering how the rest of the game is coming along, it looks like the team is intends to make up for ’06. As a old-time Sonic fan, I welcome the idea of a “second attempt” of a Silver boss battle.

What I am a bit critical of, though, is that you’re constantly running throughout the boss battle. For Metal Sonic and Shadow it makes sense since that’s how their original battles were, but if this is more boost and quick step to win, I dunno.

It’s kinda win/win when you think about it. If you like Silver, then you’ll be happy he’s included. And if you hate Silver, then you’ll be happy that you get to kick his ass. Or his crotch as the screenshots seem to indicate.

From what I can gather, these hog vs. hog battles have been revamped from scratch so they’re, y’know, actually playable. For example, the Metal Sonic battle actually has you fighting him instead of just dodging him whilst racing to the end. And it looks like the Shadow fight will opt to take advantage of Sonic’s sidestep and stuff as opposed to ‘mash the homing attack and pray it hits’.

Basically, what Sonic 4 should’ve done with its boss rehashes.

I’m still amazed at the graphics. They look so amazing. They look like a freaking Pixar animated film. I can tell that the graphics have improved significantly since Sonic Unleashed, but even Sonic Unleashed’s graphics still blow me away.

I’m super excited about this game, just like when I was excited about Sonic & Knuckles. =)
