Wow. Thanks SEGA.
Really, you offer all this great stuff-that retro theme is awesome, the game I love to death etc…
And then, for no reason I can possibly think of making sense, just because I-
*Am European
*Chose Playstation 3 as my system of choice
I have to wait until towards the END of next month to replay my favorite racing game of all time.
Really SEGA? What logic is there to the dates? Why, if the US get it a damn sight before us on PSN, I just don’t get the difficulty in bringing it here at the same time-never mind making us wait a WHOLE month for it!
Even worse, that epic retro theme is only available till November 8th-which means, thanks SEGA, you aren’t even giving us anything for waiting a whole month for this.
Seriously SEGA-I have disappointment. I was unfathomably excited, but it’s safe to say in terms of digital downloads, you’ve screwed up big time.
(NOTE:It takes a lot to wind me up this bad, especially from you SEGA-the only saving grace right now is I’m getting the Generations CE-and that’s it. Thanks SEGA.)

It’s probably SONY pushing back the release date due to some PSN launch schedule. Keep calm everyone.

@Fred_Mackay
Illogical. Yeah, I know about all these schedules and stuff. Answer me this…
A WHOLE FRICKING MONTH.
Seriously? Why the hell would Sony do that? Not to mention, why only in the EU? If it was your idea, why the hell would the US not only get it next month? Hm?
Exactly.
SEGA have just screwed us over. For living in the EU. And having a PS3.
Thanks guys.
(NOTE: I know I’m coming off badly-I’m angry. And I should be-we have a right to know why on Earth the EU have to wait so long. I do love the Community Team, SEGA in general etc, but really guys. This is pathetic-there is no excuse for such a massive gap here.)

Sorry – the submissions for games is done by region, not by product. So in this case, the game was submitted to SONY and the result was a later release. Not ideal, but we sometimes have to make these difficult decisions.
Screwed you over? Really? Isn’t this your ‘favorite racing game of all time’ and even though we’ve brought this back, you still think we’re screwing you over? I think this needs to be thought about a bit more …

At least there’s a reason given. I hate it when a later release date is mentioned and the publisher just shrugs and says ‘because’. Case in point, EA & Rock Band.

Oh man, that retro theme looks awesome. A shame that I don’t have a PS3. Is there a chance there’ll be 360 themes for Daytona USA?
Also, for Karaoke Mode, is a mic required or will the headset work?

Is this out for XBL today? I’m not at home right now so looking on xboxlive.com under games…it doesn’t show up for pre-load.
@Tracker_TD…i understand your frustration. It’s one of my favorite racing games of all times and I would post up “where’s Daytona USA on XBL???” on so many Sega facebook updates…i never even knew it was finally coming to XBL until a friend pointed it out last week!!

This is it. This is fucking it!
Stayed up all night as a european, and after refreshing the USA store since got home from work it appeared.
This more then we could have dreamed for. Not just a simple quick port. No. O no. Hell no.
So much love went into this one, this is an ode to Sega fans. All other console versions of Daytona are forgiven, we have dinally been given the home version of the game we always hoped for but never quite got.
Arcade perfect. Everyone who has been afraid what this port would turn into, do not hesiitate, you have been waiting for this moment your whole gaming career.
I have a hard time describing my happiness and gratitude about this release, after playing non stop for an hour. Please let all future remakes be of this exceptional quality and i will die a happ man…
The king has returned

Thank you Sega for this Arcade Perfect Port. Played all Night, its so great. Now make the same with Daytona 2, Sega Rally 1 + 2, Scud Race and Sega Touring Car. And at the end a blu-ray / DVD Version with all Sega Classic Arcade Racer on it would be great.

Will there be DLC for this e.g. tracks from other versions of Daytona 1 or the other classic racers?
Also is matchmaking worldwide? i.e. EU players will race US players?

This is an excellent version, although I feel a bit spoiled by the Dreamcast one in some respects. There’s actually Original and Arranged soundtracks in there, although it seems the latter might be from Sega Racing Classic. Overall it seems like there’s been a lot of great feedback on this version and some stellar reviews so far.

It’s an arcade perfect port, but that also means the graphics and animations are horribly outdated (even compared to the Dreamcast version). That said, it’s still great to finally be able to play this game again in a version that leaves the original gameplay intact. I just hope they eventually release a version of the game with updated graphics.

Kudos to SEGA for releasing this arcade perfect port of Daytona USA on XBLA/PSN. Constant 60fps is a bliss! Top notch programming! Please release your other arcade racers in the same vein.

Love the new arrange music tracks XD Beat all the challenges and got all achievements within an hour, kinda wish there were more difficult ones (ie. beat the rival using MT, beat the stage in reverse in the time limit). But overall a solid package. Thanks Sega.
And I gotta be one of those people hoping we see Daytona 2 down the line. A lot of us have still been waiting over ten years to own it =), and Scud Race and Sega Rally 1 and 2 (I’d even settle for a 60 fps version of the Dreamcast version). I could care less with all these new sim games on the market, Sega arcade racers from almost 20 years ago IMO are still far more fun and addicting.

Aaaaaaaaaaarg!
I just bought this game and it seems the only way to accelerate is using R2 button (on PS3).
This is horrible!!
Please release a patch or something so “Accelerate” can be remapped to “X” button.
The port is otherwise flawless, beautiful
But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE release a patch for the user to be able to fully remap the controls according to his needs.
Or propose more Control layouts like in OutRun Online Arcade, it was possible to use “X” button to Accelerate in this one.
I hope this small request can be forwarded to the developers, I can always dream

Small nitpicks:
1) An option to adjust left analog stick sensitivity would have been great. Car kinda jerks at times.
2) You can’t flip your opponents like before, it seems. Used to be able to run them into a wall and pop them up into the air. Very satisfying, IMO.

Sega- THANK YOU for Daytona USA on Xbox Live. And it’s arcade PERFECT no less! Been waiting 16 years for this moment and it still looks glorious in today’s graphics standards.
Curious- was the title “Daytona USA” greenlit from Activision? Cause I heard EA had been holding NASCAR licenses and the rights to the Daytona name for a long while (which I hear is the reason behind “Sega Racing Classic” in the arcade).
I remember that this game was touted as the most successful arcade release. I fell in love- and bought both Saturn versions, and also the Dreamcast version (the DC version was pretty good- although a little too fruity for my tastes).
Anyways, THANK YOU again Sega!
