While I have to say gratz to the winners I have to admit I think some people will feel cheated the a winning speed run was completed while exploiting a glitch.

Are there going to be any other chances to win one of those Sonic Statues?
I really want one badly, but I know that’s not in the best interest of you guys to give me one.

XD lol The Mexico one was AWESOME, I can see why it was chosen.
And that UK run looks pretty rad, never thought about using the drift to aid in a speed run.

If I were able to record videos and get the demo version of the game and not the release version, I could have beaten these guys by a few seconds… oh well. Congrats to the winners.
No drifting?! No wonder.

You & a few other people from the forum have accused me of this & basically spammed my youtube comments. I’ve read the forum topic & frankly it’s ridiculous. I’ll answer some of the comments here. Yes I was quite aware of the original video & I tried my hardest to replicate it exactly on my run, which is why the are “the same” but if people like you would just pay attention, you’d be able to hear my 360 control pad clicking away during my video, you’d also be able to see that I was playing my xbox on a 40″ TV & not a computer monitor & at the end of the video you can see the control pad in my hand. I understand this is a highly sough after prize (hey, that’s why I entered!) & there will be some jealous people who will accuse you of almost anything when you’ve got something that they want. But I didn’t steal a video of anyone. The original video was a great run which is why I based my run of of it. I didn’t mean any disrespect to that person. they say imitation is the highest form of flattery & as we’re in two different countries, my entry wouldn’t have affected his (had he entered) or at the very least our runs would’ve been tied.
There is a longer version of my video, showing the xbox dash & loading screens that I cut out to make my upload time faster. So if SEGA needed evidence that this run is my own, then I would provide it.
But really, I don’t need to prove anything. I won the contest fair & square & the ‘bullying’ that you’re all giving me right now, is unfair & ridiculous!

Hypermikey, you DELIBERATELY STOLE 1STKIRBYEVER’S VIDEO.
Anyone can make noises with their controllers off someone else’s video.
Take a look in the forum later and see why you’re the guilty party! I’ll have a nice surprise for you.

Hypermikey, you did not replicate FKE’s strats, you STOLE HIS VIDEO. If you really didn’t cheat then why don’t you take your video off private so we can compare them? There is absolutely no way you replicated every single part of the video in-game, down to every last frame. If it’s really your run then there will be differences. But there’s not, because it’s not yours. You downloaded the HD video off youtube, played it back on your xbox (or something else) and pointed your camera at the screen so you could pretend it was yours.
Let’s not forget that your TV screen went black right as soon as the run ended. It didn’t go back to the title screen or anything. I wonder why that might be? You’re a damn cheater. Just admit it.

VizardJeffhog on the forums did a very good job of showing beyond any kind of doubt that the video is stolen. Link: http://forums.sega.com/showthread.php?387504-Stolen-video-for-contest&p=6941350&viewfull=1#post6941350

A moderator on the forums has already found out about hypermikey. They have sent this to the higher moderators and even RubyEclipse is getting a notification. Stop denying it, Mike. You disgust us all.

This is disgraceful. HyperMikey should feel ashamed. This is a highly sought after collectable you cheated to get-and supposedly you’ve just shoved it on eBay. And now you’ve won, you don’t need the stolen video, hence it being private.
You’re not a Sonic fan. You’re a cheating bugger, and far from deserved this prize. I pray SEGA do something for the TRUE winner here. You didn’t win fair and square at all, you lying, cheating waste of a “fan.”

“I tried my hardest to replicate it exactly on my run”
Yes, you replicated it so much it was the same run. The. Exact. Same. Also hearing of the eBay auction of it grinds salt into the wound of the UK person who got second place. (provided they didn’t steal a video either). You are a despicable person for doing such a thing. It spits in the face of every UK sonic gamer that entered the contest.
