New Release Date for ANARCHY REIGNSOur upcoming third-person multiplayer brawler, ANARCHY REIGNS, will now be available on July 3, 2012. The much anticipated next title from critically acclaimed developer PlatinumGames will be released on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation3 for all console bruisers. “ANARCHY REIGNS brings a new take to the brawler genre and we have decided to take a little more time to deliver the full knockout punch. I can’t reveal much now, but it has something to do with scale. Let’s just say traditional one-on-one or two versus two fighters will be a thing of the past,” said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA West. Look for ANARCHY REIGNS this summer!

At this point no matter how many times this game is delayed it’s obvious in it’s current state it isn’t going to sell very well.
Now that it’s delayed I think Sega and P* need to do everything they can to put in features that people want to see… Sam Gidion (Vanquish) and Bayonetta as playable characters would be a good start.
Heck even throw in Shinobi, or Kazuma Kiryu any character that’ll cause a fuss.
Might as well even try and get Konami to agree to put Raiden in as a guest character, I’m sure that would shift a few numbers!
Beisdes that I think the net code and some of the enviromental textures could use some care based on the last gameplay I saw.

I agree with Sharky/Ryan (seems like you read my mind, actually). I thought this delay was a good thing but the game needs a certain pitch that will make it sell. Some SEGA characters would be nice but wouldn’t attract too many ‘outsiders’. I’ve got plenty of ideas but not so sure about posting them here..perhaps SEGA needs to open up a team of creative minds&criticasters. You’ve alread got two candidates right here..

I agree with the comments above, much like Binary Domain the game is flying completely under the radar at the moment. I don’t think adding characters is going to change that though, assuming it gets solid reviews then it’s just going to need a big marketing budget and unfortunately I doubt it’s going to get that.

Yes, I doubt adding Sega characters will increase the sales. Will it make us happier? of course, but we are buying this game no matter what. If they really focus on making it a unique experience, instead of a powered up spikeout, and get people’s interest, they will have better chances.

If you don’t think adding Bayonetta and Kazuma would push sales then you’re crazy…

Fuck Sega. This is why they are a shit company with a Legendary Hedgehog holding them up by a thread. They finally find a group of Capcom’s finest to resurrect them to glory and they even find a way to piss them off and give a big blue bird to the world. The game’s finished and can be fully converted to English, I’m just gonna buy if from Japan and, since PS3 isn’t region-locked, enjoy it this summer like we’re all suppose to.

I couldn’t agree with you more SithBrotha. Sega’s treatment of Anarchy Reigns has been disgraceful and I hope Platinum Games no longer does business with them in the future.

If you have the extra money and don’t feel like waiting, import it from Japan. Play-Asia has it. Both PS3 and 360 versions are region-free and WILL PLAY on US systems. That’s what we did for the 360, and it works fine, Xbox Live included. The only thing is Bayonetta, who I believe you might need a Japanese account to unlock, but I’ve read they’re fairly easy to get.
Sega dropped the ball with this one. The game’s complete, and there’s no reason for it not to be released outside of Japan until March of 2013.
