The House of the Dead 3 and 4 Coming to PlayStation NetworkI’m going to just jump right into this one: The House of the Dead 3 is coming to PlayStation Network on February 7th, to be followed by The House of the Dead 4 in Spring 2012. Both titles have been updated with HD graphics, trophies, and complete PlayStationMove support to give you a full arcade HOTD experience in your living room. Boom. Yes. Awesome. Originally released in 2002, The House of the Dead 3 introduced a number of new elements to the series, including “rescue events,” a shot ranking and grading system that challenges players to shoot both quickly and accurately, and a Boss “cancel” bar that players must fill to fend off devastating attacks.
I don’t think you need me to tell you that this will be the first time you’ll be able to play HOTD 4 in the comfort of your own home (far less embarrassing when you accidentally scream when a creature jumps out of nowhere, not that I’ve ever done that). We’ll have more HOTD 4 goodies as we get closer to release time, but for now, please work on honing your creature-killing skills in HOTD 3.

Please, please, please port HOTD4 to PC too, I’ve got 1, 2 and 3 on PC (as well as The Typing Of The Dead) and would love to have the 4th one too!
Oh and a PC port of Overkill wouldn’t be bad either!
And a PC port of After Burner Climax, go on, stick it on Steam!
(I’ve got all the Sega PC arcade ports)

IS THE PS MOVE CONTROLLER MANDATORY TO PLAY THESE GAMES OR CAN U PLAY WITH THE DUALSHOCK 3 CONTROLLER?

Can I use other peripherals?
Say…
SixAxis/Dualshock Controller
The Lightguns provided with Time Crisis 4
Third Party USB Lightgun, built for PC/PS3 etc…
A Dreamcast Lightgun attached via controller adapter ;P (For the nostalgia)
But seriously, control schemes are very important here, I’m actually not fond of the Move at all, it’s not very comfortable to use and I dislike it a lot so I’d like some sort of multiple choice when it comes to the control scheme.

SEGA please please PLEASE include individual trophy lists for this, and make sure each one is a full list (50 trophies + Platinum). It might sound petty, but Resident Evil 4 got blasted for not including this.

well now, you may have just convinced me that there is a reason to get a move controller. between this and house of the dead overkill: extended cut, there’s just too much zombie-shooting-goodness out there for me to ignore it any longer.

16:9?
SEGA, tell me you didn’t exclude widescreen support. It’s mandatory at this point.
Virtua Cop 1, 2, & 3 HD and I will buy Sony’s stupid motion controller.

WHOA, WHOA, WHOA!!! What happened to that rumor about us 360 owners getting HoD EX? If MS won’t allow it at least let us have something like Last Bronx or Dynamite Cop. Oh, and Guardian Heroes doesn’t count!

They should bring it out on kinect or bring it out on xbox with a light gun for 360 that works on hd tvs. I have no intention of getting move dispite having a ps 3

SEGA, please tell me this supports GunCon3, and if it doesn’t then please get on the phone with Namco right now(if you remember, Virtua Cop Elite Edition/Re-Birth supported GunCon2) . I would also prefer this in a packaged compilation. But I’m just happy to have the home version of HotD4 that I’ve been wishing for for years. Please follow it up with RAMBO arcade, or better yet a compilation of all 3 games(complete with GunCon3 support for diehard light gun game fans!).
Sorry to sound overly demanding though, I am very happy with this news; and I was one of the guys that bought Gunblade NY & LA MachineGuns day one and STILL play it to this day!

Like IceMan said. A PC-version of the games had been perfect. If that will be the case, I’m the number 1 to buy light guns and hook up the PC to the arcade monitor.
HD-TV:s killed the light guns

I bought House of the Dead Overkill and I am dissapointed with the Move support! The hatching cross cycles around 10-20 cm on the screen, aiming is not possible, calibration does not work.
If you don’t support the Guncon or bring out a similar Lightgun yourself I will not buy any further Lightgun Shooters from SEGA. Support an exact Lightgun system or keep you shooters for yourself. Move is a fucking inaccurate system.
A dissapointed customer playing your Lightgun Shooters since Virtua Cop 1 for the Saturn.

Please release it for Xbox Live Arcade, PC or at least for Wii.
I have bought every HotD for its original home console (HotD1 Saturn, HotD2 Dreamcast, HotD3 Xbox and HotD: Overkill for Wii) and for PC (excluding Ovekill). and I even have HotD2&3 Returns for Wii.
But as I don’t have a PS3 I won’t be able to finally buy and play HotD4 unless you release it on the consoles mentioned above.
So please Sega, release it on XBLA, PC or Wii.

I understand that the Move suits this game well.
But come on SEGA I’ve waited AGES for this to be on 360 and now it’s not happening? 360 desperately needs this game! 360 has nothing to offer in light gun shooters and only you can bring us that joy!

A bit curious why all the screenshots and footage here is not in widescreen? I only ask because the game was widescreen when packaged with HOTD2 on the Wii a few years back. Otherwise great news, especially about the never before ported HOTD 4.

Yeah, I’m in the boat waiting for HOTD 4 on a Nintendo console. It would be a nice introduction for Wii U to have a strong FPS in the launch line-up. Returns and Overkill on Wii were excellent packages. The original should have been included with one of those, so here’s looking at you SEGA!

Great news about House of the Dead 4, could’ve released some media about it however, an exact release date would’ve been nice too, just scared in-case it gets cancelled, which most games without a release date do.

Also that HOTD 3 port needs a few touch-ups, the zombie sounds on the arcade and wii version pitch varies depending on where you shot them, the graphics don’t look up to par with the Arcade version either.
Please let House of the Dead 4 be arcade perfect.

And also a Wii port is highly un-likely, the console is dead in terms of new fun games, and an Xbox 360 port is seemingly un-likely also with the lack of lightgun simulation, Kinect wouldn’t be able to pull it off either.
Keep up the good work you porters, I cannot wait for House of the Dead 4!

Please include widescreen support for House of the dead 4 for PS3. I don’t want black bars on my screen like part 3. I also want an arcade perfect port or a better than perfect port, nothing less.
Please don’t screw up!

House of the dead 1 and 4 would be great additions to the wii u and the 3DS as either a downloadable game or as a retail game. There some cool things that can be done with the gamepad, the pro controller, and of course the wii mote since wii u supports. They could bring it to wii because of the graphical limitations. But Now with the wii u and the 3DS I think they should be released for these consoles. PS3 is now not the only system with HD graphics and motion controls.
