Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II – Concept Art Friday! It’s hard to believe that it was just 3 weeks ago that we announced Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II with a teaser trailer and the game’s Brand Manager, Ken Balough, sporting a ridiculous Tails beard. (Fun fact: He broke 2 razors shaving that off.) Today, we’re excited to kick off Concept Art Friday for Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II. Each Friday, we’ll post some concept art from the game. We’ll also post one additional image on the Sonic the Hedgehog Facebook page, so make sure you check there each week too! Happy Friday!

I’m not surprised Ken broke 2 razors trying to shave that thing off. I mean, look what it can do:

Isn’t that the spin bumper from Sonic 3 in Marble Garden Zone. So we may see a new jungle ruin zone in Episode II.

Please , tell me that the blue spin is NOT from Marble Garden from Sonic 3….you know , fans are pretty TIRED of watching copy-pasted things from past games when the game itself (Sonic 4) is intended to be ANOTHER game in the Genesis story arc and NOT a REBOOT

It’s Episode 1 all over again.
Look, we already know what we can expect from Sonic 4. There is no point in this super slow reveal of bits and pieces of artwork etc.
You’re having this huge build-up to what is in the end only a really short, downloadable game. Get a grip.

Those were helpful in Sonic 3 since there were spikes everywhere you run.

Nice concept on the Badnik & the spinner from Marble Garden.
The Badnik (dunno the name) looks like those Badniks from Spring Yard Zone. Yet it looks new at the same time. Derp.

Sega, first of all I want to let you know I really appreciate your relationship with us fans and the way you keep us posted on things. But the main thing I want to say is this, and I’m surely not the only one thinking it.
Yes, the classics games are great and timeless. But we can go back and play them anytime we want. With Episode I and certainly after Generations (both of which were fantastic IMO), we have HAD our nostalgic fix. Please, please, the last thing we want is more rehashed stuff – I want you to remind us all that Sonic games can be great just because they play amazing – not because they remind us of earlier games. Besides – any game you release based on trying to invoke nostalgia will have pretty much no nostalgic value of it’s on in a few years time.
Still. I will keep my trust in you guys that you heard all the feedback from Episode I and have much more up your sleeves yet. But – please, NO MORE rehashes…

SEGA: Concept art!
Fans: Awesome!
SEGA: *shows a spinner from Sonic 3*
Fans: OMG y u copy paste, this will be the worst game ever!!11/!/1!
Jeez, calm down guys, it’s a single level gimmick from a single game. I don’t recall all this hate when they appeared in Route 99 in SA3. I for one welcome our new spinner overlords.

Since everyone else here seems to be complaining and stuff…
I wanna take a lighter note and say that the Tails Beard made me literally LOL. That was the most epic and at the same time, ridiculous thing I have ever seen XD

Why are people complaining?! Why do fans always complain when SEGA tries to do what you ask for?
For “green eyes haters” – What is wrong about green irises? SEGA probably would’ve made Classic Sonic have them in Generations if you guys stopped complaining. Why do you hate Sonic characters having IRISES?!?!?!?!?!?!

It’s official. Sonic fans are the most finicky, hardest to please fans on the planet. Sega can’t win either way.
Sega do what you will, I don’t care if its S3&K in HD, a full blown 3d adventure, or even Sonic & Tails have a tea party, just make sure the bugs are few, the physics are right and the game play is fun.

Look out everyone! Sega released concept art of a wheel object that was in a preveious Sonic game! Now we all have to fly off the handle, critisize this game based on this minor fact, and hate Sega for ruining our childhoods (oh and let’s whine about Sonic’s mouth while we’re at it, since mocking eye color is getting too old)!
This is what almost everyone here sounds like. Guys: Chill out.
Sega: You guys rock! I can’t wait for this game! You’ve made no mistakes as far as I can tell.

Oh no. I just realized something. Remember the Sonic 2 special stages? Oh my god. SEGA DO NOT PUT THOSE IN EPISODE 2 IT WILL KILL ME AND ILL NEVER BE ABLE TO GET THE CHAOS EMERALDS. But if you make it a lot, and I mean A LOT, easier to get the rings then the put it in. I think that in Sonic Generations for 3DS the special stages were like Sonic Heroes which are kinda like Sonic 2’s special stages. So if its gonna be like that then put it in.

Well to be honest I feel that the Mario series has become FAR worse than the Sonic series when it come’s to gimicks and re-hash and copy and paste gameplay.
Nintendo has truly run out of idea’s. Oh, so Mario has a new outfit or two. Same exact enemies, same exact bosses, same exact level themes, same way to fight and beat every boss, same Bowser style levels…
Nintendo are the one’s who have become truly re-hash and un-original. Everything is Mario Bros. and Mario Galaxy styled now day’s.
If you people want to complain about re-hash and classic gimicks, go to Nintendo and put a stop to these horrible and boring Mario game’s that are exactly like one’s before them.
At least Sonic Team, sure may be re-using some thing’s, but are at least changing how they look and making them harder to beat.

Dear SEGA,
I don’t know how it comes, but everytime you guys upload something totally new about a new SONIC-game, I feel so excited! And so it is for Sonic 4: Episode II. I hope that I can stay excited for this one, since all the others are complaining. But who cares? I like it. End.

I’m preparing myself for the drama explosion this coming Friday, when SEGA reveal that the game will be in full colour and feature loop-de-loops. SEGA – Y U COPY PASTE FROM EVERY SONIC GAME??1?
Keep going SEGA, there are at least *some* of us out here who are waiting to play the game before we decide what we think of it ;P

Is Sonic 4 Episode 2… Sonic 2 CD? Think, Metal Sonic is a rival from CD, Tails is an ally from Sonic 2, add this together and you get: Sonic 2 CD, a game that was rumored to exist prior to CD but was prove false… until now!
Don’t take this seriously… it’s a play on words, in other words, a joke.

Cool SEGA!
My dream is to work with the sonic, the 7 years since I played Sonic..
I still remember me playing Sonic the Hedgehog 3…
Currently I still have 12 years and I have a Sonic Blog and Twitter. I’m
already looking for a way to
“game” in which I learn to do
“codes.” MY BIGGEST DREAM OF LIFE (when I grow up) is WORKING IN SEGA.

I await the next piece of news. Might be more interesting.
