Here’s your first look at game play footage from Jet Set Radio!
Awww I thought you were making a brand new JSR o.o
Still own this on the Dreamcast though, great game

Awesome, so what’s the word on licensing the entire soundtrack?

The cell shading looks good even today, although I’m hoping some of the textures will be remade as well in higher resolutions. The characters and graffiti in particular would really benefit from actual HD textures, as we’ll be seeing those a lot in the game. I’m getting it regardless though, but given the attention this game is getting (I’m sure Sega noticed that the announcement of JSR HD got way more coverage than the release of Binary Domain did from the gaming media) I hope they give it the extra polish it needs.

I hope you put Sonic Heroes and Sonic Adventure 2 on US PSN
Posted by sonic adventure 2 and sonic herose on US PSN on March 3rd, 2012 at 3:11 pm
Rather disappointing that it’s JSR and not JSRF. Never really liked JSR as it was unnecessarily harsh with punitive time limits (until the cops come and spoil things) getting in the way of the fun. The graffiti was too fiddly as well.

I finally beat this game today on my SEGA DreamCast, and hands down is it amazing! Can’t wait until the HD release, me and my friend are both going to buy the game on PSN and enjoy it like crazy! =) (Yes, I know i’ll be owning this game for the second time, but in digital form, but hey, this game is seriously worth spending money on and I want SEGA to have my money).
JET SET RADIO! =D

This game and its sequel will eternally be THEE SHIZNIT. Now, with that out of the way, we need more aggressive inline games in this world. This recreational activity is so awesome and yet it’s only got a few games based on it.

Oh God, this game gave me a headache. Literally. Though it did form my mental image of Tokyo for a very long time, until I actually went. Why are they re-releasing this, I didn’t think it was that good?!
Posted by doctuar on March 5th, 2012 at 8:14 am
Nooooo, we want Dreamcast 2!!!! Stop creating games for other platforms!!!!!! >_<. And by the way the best JSR version is the DREAMCAST version… ¬¬

i have this on my dreamcast and i hope they get a rid of the timer so that we can enjoy the game without racing against the clock because it takes the fun out of the game and i can’t get past the 2nd or 3rd level to this day !

Posted by Sapphire on March 6th, 2012 at 2:11 pm
Wait, hold on a second. Wasn’t this game called Jet GRIND Radio and not Jet SET Radio? Wasn’t Jet Set Radio the music you hear and the skates you roll on called Grinders hence Jet Grind Radio?
Posted by Zach on March 6th, 2012 at 6:24 pm
One of the best original games out there
Posted by Chris on March 6th, 2012 at 7:46 pm
If SEGA were business-smart they would release it on PS Vita too as this game would look great on its screen But anyway, this is looking sweeeeet! @Zach: A quick google search would explain that to you
Posted by bz on March 7th, 2012 at 2:04 am
Was kinda hoping this would be a new entry to the series, but I’m glad I can play this on my 360 rather than having to haul out my Dreamcast every now and then.
What about ports of:
Sonic Adventure 2
Sonic Riders (only the first one, Zero Gravity is terrible)
Shadow the Hedgehog
Daytona USA CCE content/skin update for Daytona USA that came out a little while back?
Sonic 3D Blast with Genesis AND Saturn soundtrack options?
Clockwork Knight series?
a guy can dream
Posted by Eric on March 7th, 2012 at 9:45 am
@27 – Zach:
Actually, Jet Grind Radio was the NA title for the game when it got ported. The original title was actually called Jet Set Radio in Japan, and I prefer that title anyways. I’m happy they’re doing this though.
Posted by Gpop on March 9th, 2012 at 8:21 am
why is NiGHTS into Dreams still not on PSN
Posted by DG on March 11th, 2012 at 1:59 pm
played it back on the DC. Played JSRF on the Xbox. Loved them both, wanted more…I ll be buying this in hopes of getting Sega to make a sequel.
Posted by mikeey on March 11th, 2012 at 6:23 pm
Let’s see if SEGA make Jet Set Radio Future HD for PSN/XBLA/PC too.
Posted by AnimalBear on March 12th, 2012 at 8:53 am
Great, fantastic, after a month or two of trying to impersonate Beat judging by what i’ve read I now know i’ll soon be able to actually find out what he was like through the games.
Posted by Matticusmadness on March 12th, 2012 at 11:56 am
I BEEN WAITING OF THIS LIKE A MOTHER BEEN WAITING OF HIS UNBORN CHILD
Posted by Kindom on March 15th, 2012 at 8:01 pm
@Comment #6: The first was obviously better as it took more skill to beat, and had a higher emphasis on street culture when compared to JSRF.
Both are gems though.
Posted by TheTerboh on March 17th, 2012 at 2:00 am
We need a new JSRF!!! please!!! that game was amazing and way more fluid. pweeze sega?
Posted by Sechevite on April 10th, 2012 at 2:39 pm
please sega commands don’t forget the “radio player” and “connect to the internet” features
digital downloads would be cool in order to experience the full ost of jsr
Posted by herbert on April 21st, 2012 at 10:16 pm
I JUST EXPLODED. I mean, sure, it’s no JSRF, but c’mon… at least we’re getting something! I cannot wait!
