Binary Domain heading to PC in April!Announced today, the much anticipated third-person squad shooter Binary Domain will be released on PC this April. PC fans who have been requesting this game – your words have been heard! We’re proud to announce that the truly unique story and setting of Binary Domain will soon be on your preferred platform! For those that haven’t heard, Binary Domain is a pioneering third-person squad shooter from the creators of the Yakuza series. Set in 2080 Tokyo, Binary Domain paints a vivid picture of a country in social and environmental meltdown; players will battle against robotic defenses in a city where climate change has forced many to live in extreme poverty in the slums, while the others live in the near future upper city built on top of the lower city. With a central branching storyline, voice recognition in combat and conversation, and AAA shooter mechanics Binary Domain offers something genuinely unique to the genre. “As well as the excitement generated by Binary Domain in the console press we were seeing increasing numbers of players asking for a PC version. So we listened and we delivered.” said Gary Knight, Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEGA. Binary Domain will be released on the PC platform in both boxed and digital formats. Further information can be found from your favorite retailer.

please bring out the yakuza skins dlc for this game to western territories. i and many others have been requesting this in the forums but so far we have had no reply. now that yakuza dead souls has been released it makes sense to release the skins to people in the west. thank you

Great news! Bought if for the PS3, love it, but I struggle quite a bit to aim using a controller, so I can’t wait to play it with a mouse + keyboard.
Any chance we can have more info regarding pre-order DLC for the PC version?
Steam has the Multiplayer Pack, but what about the Dan Marshall Pack? I wish it included both…
And is there any chance the Yakuza skins may make it to the PC version later on?

You have no idea how brilliant of a choice this really is, the PC market – Steam and the like are literally the perfect market for this game. Although I know my computer cannot run it, I could not be happier with this decision. Hopefully the multiplayer modes will finally get the support it deserves.

Thank you so much for bringing Binary Domain to the PC! I watched the quick look on Giant Bomb and immediately fell in love with the game.
Big Bo said it best – Sah-weet!

@Qmüngous
They had no plans to do a PC version at all! This happened due to high demand for one. Makes me wonder what other games Sega will bring to PC, I imagine it’s now more of an issue of hiring enough people to port them as they have clearly shown that they are willing to cater to PC gamers.

Ah, I love it. Thanks for the Steam version. If you have to have DRM, I always prefer the Steam. Plus the asking price is quite nice, just like Sonic Generations. Plus the pre-order bonuses on Steam! I love revolvers!!
Thanks for making PC versions of your console games SEGA. You guys do it like no other company does.

What I would like to know is of the game will be a PC version, or X-Box 360 shovelware; Will there be options for any other conroller but the X-Blah brick? will there be proper customisation for the controls? And most of all, will the mouse control be properly translated, or does it try to imitate the clumsiness of the controller?
Therefore i would wish for a proper playable PC demo, for otherwize I will not be doing the same mistake by buying the product as I did with a few Capcom games (they didn’t cost so much at the time, but still I’m very bitter about it), as I have given up pirating (even for testing) a long time ago (although I know many PC gamers still do this to avoid my mistakes).

Love it! Thanks SEGA for releasing this for the PC, especially with the choice of using Steamworks! Please always consider releasing all of your future console games for the PC platform. I have the consoles but I really do prefer playing games on my PC since it’s hooked up to my big screen. The market is there and Steam is the place to release them.

I hope this sells well, if it does, I wonder what other SEGA games could come to the PC in the future. Vanquish, Bayonetta, the Yakuza series, so many possibilities. :>

SEGA should do what capcom did with dark void and make retail a normal PC game and download GFWL so we can earn achievements on our tag. And also not have broken PC achievements

@Dean: No, GFWL is an horrible system and every developers should just stop using it. GFWL uses a really awful saving system, and sometimes it could cause the save file to become corrupted (this happened alot in Virtua Tennis 4, which uses GFWL, but it also may happen in other GFWL games). Plus it’s a pain to back up save files from GFWL games.
I’m really glad that SEGA is using Steamworks now.
