I already bought episode 1 on Wii, how can I get episode 2 to recognize it? I don’t want to have to buy episode 1 again just to unlock new content.

sega sonic: I know I’m not really the one who should be saying this stuff, but, there never really WAS a “Classic Sonic”. There never really was a “Modern Sonic” either. There has always just been that ONE Sonic the Hedgehog. Even if there was a difference between the Sonic we have now than the one from, for example, the Genesis era, then I’m pretty sure they know how that one is played and made, since it’s one of SEGA’s games. You know, the game company that you’re replying to now? Yeah, that SEGA. Plus, if you’re really into that non-stop 2D styled Sonic style, then you should really see this game as a step in the right direction since they’re pulling out all the tricks again. Plus, as said in one of their previous videos on Sonic the Hedgehog 4 (Episode 2), they were unable to do Episode 1 right because they didn’t have the right available resources, which is reasonable, since it’s the first time in such a long time that they were able to go and work with a 2D Sonic game that WASN’T an emulator port of the Genesis or CD games. Honestly, I prefer the 3D styled Sonic due to the brighter and wider variety of colors, The amazing speed, and due to just how much more fun it is than the original 2D style, but not everyone likes to see those things in Sonic games (And yes, I grew up with a Genesis). All they see now are “PHYZICS”, “GREN EYZ”, and “OMGZ WAER CLASIC???!!!11!1!!”. With each Sonic game, I always make sure I’m up to date, and I always try to see what these fans like to rage about, and yet, I never find anything. At all. I didn’t find anything wrong in Sonic 4 since I never stopped mid jump, never slowed down a tiny bit, and I don’t care whether the characters eye colors are “correct” or not. All I care about is if they stay true to their concept of Sonic, which is the element of speed and the amazing scenery. It’s just plain idiotic to say a game is bad just based on if his eye colors are black or not… No matter what anybody says, Sonic is still Sonic, and that’s all that matters. Anyone who says otherwise is a Genesis hugging fanboy that doesn’t really deserve to play any of these games at all. Weren’t you people satisfied enough with how Sonic Generations turned out? You got your “Classic” Sonic back, you got your nostalgia fix, now give it up for a bit and stare off into the future for Sonic for awhile and realize that times are different and you will never see another cartridge based Sonic game again unless it’s from a collectors store. Seriously, we always get held back because of you guys complaining that you want your old Sonic back, making it seem like Sonic will never have an original, good release again. How about you let us true blue Sonic fans have our turn for a bit?
SEGA: Honestly, this game is turning out to look like a real masterpiece, a fine sequel for the Sonic 4 series, and I want you guys to know that I fully support you 100% of the way through! As one of your most die hard Sonic fans, I’d just like to say that I love how this is looking so far. Nice job.

If we already bought Episode 1 on WiiWare, do we have to buy it again on another console to play Episode II, or can we just download Episode II on its own on another console and play it?

If you want episode metal you need to own both episode 1 and 2 on the same console. So yes you need to buy it again if you don’t already own episode one on a different system.

Boy, you sure know how to make… money? No, that’s not quite it. Make games without any actual plan for how you’ll go ahead? Well, it at least SEEMS that way.
I figured there’d be some sort of connectivity with 1 and II somehow. I’m still waiting to see if 4.2 will be on the Wii U, but even then, 4.1.5 won’t be obtainable… unless you can transfer Wii channels/games to the Wii U somehow.
Either way, you are REALLY advancing console/company loyalty with that. “If you stick with just ONE system you get extra stuff, yay!” Oh, as long as that company’s not Nintendo.

Sucks to be a Wii-only player, but seriously why’s it such a big deal over a free little bonus feature?! System exclusives has been going on for years now! I never threw a fit when they released Free Riders only for Kinect. So really; why are people even complaining?
The PS3/360 version of Episode 1 looks, plays, and sounds much better than the Wii version, so having them skip a Wii version for Episode 2 obviously saves them precious time and money from having to downgrade a perfectly good game to fit the Wii Shop’s miniature data requirements that allow it to be posted and sold for download.

sega sonic: Other than the 2D Side Scrolling versus the 3D Action, what differences are there between “Classic” and “Modern” Sonic?
And by the way, they stopped making consoles not because they wanted to, but because they simply didn’t have the budget for it anymore, and it was too big of a risk for them, while up against the PS2, Xbox and GameCube.
Hope you reply soon :3

So… No new Sonic and Tails models integrated into Episode 1 with a new patch like done with Metal Sonic…?
You people at SEGA suck… Why can’t you just patch Episode 1 somehow so that the old Sonic model in Episode 1 is replaced by the Episode 2 model for Sonic at least with or without Tails?

@MegaRevolution1: Well. Someone’s hit the nail on the head. Here I thought I was the only one thinking that the fanboys should shut the hell up and move on. Very well done speech. Personally, the only reason I’m ticked is because I can’t get this stuff on my Wii (which is understandable; after all, the game’s a tad too big compared to EP 1). But, I’m getting it for an iPod Touch (which is sometime next month…), so I won’t be twitching too much.
@SEGA: I’ve been a fan since my Game Gear days, and for good reason. Keep up the excellent work, and here’s hoping to an Episode 3!

I’ve Been Having an idea for a new Sonic Fighting game, the Sonic Fighting game is gonna be called Sonic Battle 2, it would be similar to Sonic Battle its just that the camera angle would be different, it would have a the Sonic Battle Story mode but after the Storyline for Sonic Battle is Done, another Story Would Be Unlocked, it would also have the Characters Talking and instead of speech bubbles there would be subtitles, the characters would actually be talking instead of no talking when they’re actually talking, there would also be a Hero Mode similar to Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi where you get to create your own character, you would also be able to create your character without having to head to Hero mode to create your character, I Hope You Like my idea for a new Sonic Fighting Game

Huh, coming out sooner then I had figured. Guess I’ll have to prepare for it soon for PSN.
I hope it’s better then the first. While Episode was a decent game all its own, it just wasn’t as good as the genesis classics, IMO. Not enough lvls, and like others believe, recycled material used a lot for them. Seems to be present here as well, but I hope not as much.
Still, been a fan for 19 years, and almost have all but one game in the franchise, and I’m always looking forward to a Sonic game, regardless of how it’ll be, I’ll be the judge once I can play it.
Icing on the cake is being able to play as my favorite character in the series, Metal Sonic.
Glad to have this 6 days after my birthday

Sega, I have a few questions/comments… and I’m not really sure where to begin.
See, I loved playing Sonic 2, 3, and S&K/S2&K/S3&K since I was very little, and for whatever reason, I don’t see Sonic 4 episode 1 or episode 2 as… well, as being as FAST as those games. I always thought that Sonic 4 would be better in some way than Sonic 2/3/K/lockon-K, but in just about every way, it hasn’t given me as much fun as those. The homing attack was a great addition, but the lack of 3D special stages was disheartening, as those are one of my favorite aspects of the Sonic series as a whole. Having Knuckles as a playable character choice was also something that drew me in, as his enhanced mobility with gliding/climbing made exploration a high point. Using the spin dash with any character was also something I thought was awesome, especially when you could use it to boost yourself up a slope and jump at the right point and get somewhere you didn’t normally have access to.
I had more to say, but I guess I’ll cut my comment short for now. All I’m saying is this: I’m not crying for nostalgia to be put into the new sonic games, but I think that maybe some things need to be reviewed before being put in action. I’m just a consumer though, so I can’t really lay claim to anything except liking Sonic Team’s previous products.

I think not having Episode 2 for the Wii as well is a stupid decision. I don’t have a PS3 or an XBOX 360. I have a WII. I am a big fan of sonic games (have nearly all of them.) Why isn’t it availiabe for download on the Wii, as well? Even when it was advertized to BE availiable for the Wii some time ago? I would really like an answre to this inquiry. Stupid decision, Sega…..:(

Can someone explain how to get episode metal on PS3? I have both episodes.
Somehow I managed to get into episode metal and saw the special intro and level select. But now I can’t seem to repeat what I did to get back there.
All I did was stop playing after the first Metal Sonic boss and decided to poke around the other menus like Multiplayer, Help, etc. And then boom, it shows up when I thought I was starting the normal game.
Almost seems like a glitch, or I just happened to do the right button combination lol

Finally found it. On PS3, the magic button is to press L1 while on the normal level select map and it’ll shift you to the Episode Metal map. R1 takes you back.
Looks like something slipped past QA testing… :/
