Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown – SouthTown Arcade TournamentsRight before our announcement of Virtua Fighter 5 for console, the team at AM2 built and shipped two authentic Virtua Fighter Japanese arcade machines. Of course, the goal has been to get as many fans of Virtua Fighter a chance to come in and check out these machines, get some play time, and even compete a bit for prizes. Partnering with a local shop, SouthTown Arcade, we’ve been holding some semi-regular tournaments to bring out the fighting community and have some fun in the SF Bay Area. Prizes! Our most recent tournament featured some pretty sweet rewards – arcade cards signed by the AM2 team and a SEGA controller hoodie to the top winner – not too shabby. The rewards have been different, we like to mix it up, so keep your eye on the blogs to see what’s coming up next. Photos! At our most recent event, Nic Alan was able to take some photos and shared them for all to view. Thanks Nic! The Winners!Renzo (pictured above) was the big tournament winner and second place goes to LA Akira- big congratulations to both from all of us at SEGA and SouthTown Arcade! We really encourage everyone to come by and take a look at the game and if you can’t make it, never fear – TwitchTV is on hand for live streaming for all that want to participate!

Virtua Fighter is an amazing game, I’m glad its back & what SEGA in both & west is doing with it (Tournaments, Evo, AM2 & VF legends goodies), its a real fighting game, no spamming, no juggling, no mashing! pure martial arts & fighting skills, fun, tense, traditional, now what if you guys bring it to PC Digital (Steam, Onlive & …), Vita & Wii U too?
