Hey, I’m glad to see this information up for all to see! As an absurd collector of Sonic music, I would like to point out that the soundtracks from all three Sonic Riders games are available on iTunes as well!
So Sonic 4 Episodes I and II are on the way? Rad. Any chance of seeing Generations?

Yeah, I’d love to see these on Zune, ’cause Zune is much better than iTunes. :/ Any chance we’ll see them on there?

But seriously SEGA, make the jump to amazon or playstation marketplace to get some easy cash from me

Agree with the comments above, why making them available only on iTunes? Buying on this platform is pretty annoying for people who don’t own an “iDevice”.
Selling them on Amazon MP3 as recommended above would be great, as you don’t have to download any additional software, a lot of ppl own an Amazon account, and they provide DRM-free MP3s (don’t know if iTunes’ ones got DRM or not though).
Still, the best way would be to sell physical CDs through the Sonic Merchandise website IMO!

With all due respect, these have been out for a while. I’ve milked the heck out of Crush 40′s stuff. As far as the Sonic Game soundtracks go, I’ve bought the original- and Crush 40/Cash-Cash cover of- Sonic Boom, but no others.
AND except for Sonic Colors, these are incomplete. I’ve been waiting for E.G.G.M.A.N, and the USA Sonic CD Soundtrack, and ALL the scores of Sonic Adventure (not just the relatively few here), to no avail. No offense, but I’m no more swayed than before.
Release the FULL soundtracks, then we’ll talk. Again, sorry to be stingy. I appreciate the gesture, but you’ll have to go a bit further for me to get more soundtracks.

Wow, out of touch much? They chose iTunes because iTunes IS the downloadable music market. The other services are just a drop in the ocean. iTunes is DRM free for music.
PS, release music from some of the good games pls!

But who am I to complain? I may get them all… >.>

Finally! After years of being unable to purchase those albums, i’m finally able to purchase them through iTunes.
With that being said, I do think this trend needs to continue and more services should be able to sell those cd’s and stream the music like Spotify.
iTunes works great for people with iDevices and Mac’s. But my experience with iTunes is just really bad. It’s not just a simple, download iTunes and your done, no it’s a hell of a task to finally purchase something if your new to iTunes.
But again sega… Good trend your setting here!

Ugh….I have one wish…and that’s that you would release these soundtracks in Canada at least, and other countries as well. Just because I’m not American, doesn’t mean I don’t like Sonic music? What is this, you give us all the games, shows, comic cooks, and most of the merchandise, but no soundtracks….disappointing.
Oh, and by the way, you guys who use Zune and Amazon and such, I’m pretty sure you can download the music from iTunes and then import them to your Zune or anywhere else on your computer for mp3 use. (I’m not sure how Amazon’s mp3 program works though :/ sorry) Am I right?

So I couldn’t help but notice that these have not been released in the Canadian iTunes store. Please, please, please, Sega! Release them on the Canadian store too! These albums contain some of my favourite music of all time (Sonic Adventure 2′s OST is particularly godly) and I want to finally be able to buy them! Please please please!

Sorry Sega, no Amazon MP3, no buy! Few reasons…
1. Only works on iPod or a small number of players. iTunes’ DRM-free AAC is not as universal as MP3. Think of it this way, if you bought a CD, it would work on all players, not just a select few. MP3 works on all players, just like a CD works on all CD players
2. If converted, loss in quality. You can burn them to CD, or use iTunes’ “Make MP3 version” option, because AAC is compressed, the conversion or re-importing the songs to MP3 format won’t sound as good. Same can be said if you burn MP3 and then re-rip them. It would be nice if it’s MP3 from the get-go, this way there’s no quality loss.
Those are my two gripes, if Sega puts them on Amazon MP3 or a store that sells MP3 music, will definitely buy.

I will purchase a good chunk of these soundtracks if they go onto the Amazon MP3 store. Will NOT touch iTunes with a bargepole as I do not want to get locked into their ecosystem, the software is a pig to use and I am against Apple’s business practices.

Hey everyone, guess what? Most modern MP3 players and smartphones can use music bought from iTMS without conversion. For those phones and MP3 players that aren’t compatible, there is the option in the iTunes software to convert HE-AAC and AAC format audio to MP3 and WAV formats. iTunes just happens to be a larger music market than Walmart, Amazon, and pretty much anything else out there, so Sega went for the largest distribution channel.
Also, iTunes software isn’t THAT bad. Otherwise, the iPhone, iPod Family, and iPad wouldn’t be the most popular devices in their respective categories (Android might be the mobile OS king right now, but the iPhone as a handset outsells every individual Android handset model by at least 4:1, if not more).

Either the amazon store or Google Play would be a great place to sell these as well. People downloaded these songs beforehand, and if they’re not on a platform that people will use, they will continue to do so. Putting them on Google Play or Amazon Music will put them in a place where more people can reach them and can be played on more devices than just a PC and Apple’s own MP3 players.

Since the first time I downloaded Napster many years ago until right now, I have been forced to either rip music straight from the game, or download others’ soundtrack rips. Now I can finally hand Jun Senoue cash for the music I listen to everyday anyway. Awesome.
But you did forget some SERIOUS tuneage, namely on the Sonic Adventure soundtrack. Where is “Crank The Heat Up?” That’s one of the best songs from that game.
