Jet Set Radio Announced for the PlayStation Vita! The much-loved Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio will be coming to PlayStation Vita Systems this summer, and will be playable for the first time at this year’s E3 show! Jet Set Radio is an updated version of the celebrated SEGA Dreamcast original, featuring upgraded HD visuals paired with the original funky soundtrack that rocked the ears of gamers worldwide in 2000. The PlayStation Vita’s unique features provide new ways for gamers to interact with the environments of Tokyo-to, from touch functionality that makes spraying graffiti more natural to Vita camera integration. Jet Set Radio for PlayStation Vita is a handheld version that loses nothing in the way of content or experience in comparison with its console and PC brethren. “The fan reaction to our recent reveal of Jet Set Radio has been incredible!” said Haruki Satomi, Senior Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA. “As Jet Set Radio is focused on creativity, the touch capabilities of the PlayStation VITA are proving to be a perfect fit.” Jet Set Radio will also be released on Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation Network, and Windows PC Digital Download this summer.

“The fan reaction to our recent reveal of Jet Set Radio has been incredible!” said Haruki Satomi -> you should try the same for Shenmue HD and Skies of Arcadia HD release

Should also be on 3DS. Nice Vita users can experience this on the go. I would most likely buy a 3DS one though.

I wonder if we’ll be getting the original original version or the International version with the extra missions.

Are there plans for this to be a “buy for PS3 and also get it for Vita” kind of deal? Or at least a bundle?
Because I”d do that, Sega. I’m asking you to take my money here.

I agree with “N/A” i’d gladly buy a bundle, but I don’t want to buy both versions separately each for full price.

“Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft”
Does Microsoft insist you paste that spiel instead of just “Xbox LIVE Arcade”?
And the reason 3DS isn’t getting this is because DC and 3DS specs aren’t so far apart that it’d be an ‘easy’ port. Judging by these four new screenshots, oddly upscaled to 720p, so far it’s not a great port even on Vita. It should be 544p, 4xMSAA and 60fps, on consoles 1080p 60fps with some form of PPAA. Look at Ridge Racer 7, PS3 launch game.

Same as above, I would like to know whether I have to buy both the PS3 version and the Vita version, or will I be able to pay one price for both? Think about it Sega! Cross-play would be amazing!

Oh my god… I so want dreamcast classics on handhelds but please put them on 3DS too. I can’t imagine this will sell well in vita considering the install base is less than 2 million, if it is on the 3DS I will pick it up in a heartbeat… or Wii U, then you get HD on a home console and touch features.

Lil confused. Will all of these new versions of Jet Set Radio have the Complete soundtrack from the original? I was under the impression that several tracks would not be in the game(including a rob zombie song).

This is why i bought a Vita! How I love to hear the 3DS people crying because it was only mentioned for Vita. Guess you man up and stop waiting for an imaginary price drop to occur!

I would be more excited for this news if it was playable on the Nintendo 3DS instead of the Vita. I don’t really have an interest in the Vita (yet) due to lack of games.
The touch screen features for the 3DS (bottom screen) would make this pretty awesome on the 3DS anyway too.

Awesome, I just got the new classic release and have been playing soe Monster World IV and Sega announces another awesome game I love is coming to Vita, brilliant news! Seems a perfect fit for the Vita.
I also agree with others, a PS3+Vita bundled version so I can play at home or anywhere on Vita would definitely be appreciated.
Shenmue I & II and Skies of Arcadia next please

Sega. I’m definitely getting this for PSN, and if you ever decide to release an HD-ified Shenmue 1 and/or 2 on PSN, I will get that first day if possible. BUT I highly suggest releasing Alien Soldier on the PSN – it’s a very ‘hardcore’ game and you’ve wisely released it on the PC (and Wii), yet it’s nowhere to be found on the PSN or even XBLA! Games like Hard Corps Uprising, the closest comparable new game, are *only* on those platforms and *not* the Wii. A huge chunk of the audience for Alien Soldier is on PSN/XBLA. Something to think about…

I heard when i played this at PAX that is has the original japanese soundtrack (hopefully meaning that it includes deavid soul’s dunny boy willamson show) but it will be the DX version (ROM with grind city and bantam street LVLs) i own all the version on dreamcast, the prototype version, the soundtrack (includding the music sampler) and MORE!

Awesome! This great experience on the go, sugoi! Also you definitively need to make this a cross-play PS3-PSVita, and publish it like a bundle (ex. MotorStorm RC) Buy for 1 platform and you will get free for the second one, that will be great! Please please please!

idk why sega didn’t put it on the 3ds the screen is all most 720p and the processor is the same speed as the ps vita only when not turbo boost 3ds have faster gpu ps vita have more cores and people don’t really use the right analog and the 3ds have the same button as dreamcast even if I have a PC I’m still angry about it not on 3ds because it should be on every game system that can play this game
