Sonic the Hedgehog and the SEGA All-Stars Come to the Mac for the First TimeFeral Interactive today announced that Sonic the Hedgehog and over 25 other fan-favorite SEGA characters are coming to the Mac this summer! Developed by Sumo Digital Ltd. and published by SEGA for consoles and PC, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing and SEGA Superstars Tennis will bring the world’s speediest blue hedgehog to the Mac for the very first time. A star-studded line-up including Doctor Eggman, Tails, Shadow the Hedgehog, Alex Kidd and Super Monkey Ball’s Aiai will battle it out not only in single player and split-screen multiplayer modes, but also online using Apple’s Game Center technology, a feature of the next version of Mac OS X, Mountain Lion. Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing sees Sonic and friends race cars, motorbikes and even a “bananamobile” across crazily inventive tracks inspired by the incredible worlds of the SEGA games. Players must find secret shortcuts and use hilarious power-ups to give them the edge, making Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing an exhilarating ride for family, friends and online challengers. SEGA Superstars Tennis pits classic SEGA characters against each other across four smashing (geddit?) tournaments on totally outrageous tennis courts. Players can also put their racket skills to the test in twisted minigames inspired by classic SEGA titles such as House of the Dead, Space Harrier and Super Monkey Ball. Pricing, system requirements, minisites, trailers and more details about Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing and SEGA Superstars Tennis for the Mac will be announced closer to the release date.

Awesome! I’m upgrading to a Mac next year aswell! 😀
Please do this for Sonic 4 Ep I/II and the Sonic Adventure titles!! and also the other Sonic titles on Steam!
This means I wouldn’t have to use a Windows 7 Partition on the Mac Computer! 😀

I hope for the MAC users these are well done ports. Too many times these games are ported and are true disgrace to the original developers.

Thank you Sega and Feral Interactive.
I really hope we see these on Steam. I know there are some issues with that kind of thing when the Mac port isn’t done by the same developer, but I hope that’s not the case here.
I’d love for more Sega titles to be ported over to Mac on Steam.

Already have for the iPad and the PS3. Coudn’t really get the hang of the controls on the iPad to be honest so bought the PS3 version instead. Can’t imagine playing it with a keyboard.
Still waiting for Sonic Adventure 2 to be re-released – please!

Sega Superstars Tennis never came out on PC so we got it on Mac. It’d be nice if it did come to PC, seeing as all the Virtua Tennis games did!

This is great news! Finally, more titles other than “football manager” available for the Mac (at least the last time I checked for Mac titles). This title makes perfect sense being available for the Mac, as it already was successfully developed for iOS. Kudos for also using the new game center in the soon to be released Mountain Lion version of Mac OS X! I’m sure plenty of people would like to see Steam titles as native Mac titles, but I’m sure for some titles that’s pushing it (Sonic Generations!).
