Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Tutorial Videos

Virtua Figher 5 Final Showdown - Logo

Here they are, the remaining 5 character tutorial videos for Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown! Our final two videos feature moves and techniques for Akira, Vanessa, Brad, Goh, and Kage.

Akira & Vanessa

Master in the art of Hakkyokuken, Akira Yuki uses this martial art style to dismantle his adversaries with lighting-quick, hard-hitting strikes. Akira’s game relies heavily on reading the opponent and solid execution rather than strings or tricky tactics. Thus, he is recommended for advanced players.

Brad, Goh, & Kage

From the Ducking stance Brad can perform the Ducking Rush. While the first two attacks are high, they’re uninterruptible and the soonest the Opponent can attack is on the third hit. However, since the third hit is a Mid attack, it will counter hit an Opponent attempting either a standing or crouching punch, allowing for the final hit to be guaranteed!

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Tutorial Videos

Virtua Figher 5 Final Showdown - Logo

We hope you’ve enjoyed our recent tutorial videos for Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown – we’ve got two new videos up to help guide you through your fights online! Our two newest videos feature moves and techniques for Aoi, Lei-Fei, El Blaze, and Eileen.

Aoi & Lei-Fei

Aoi has the ability to automatically parry most linear and half circular high and mid attacks using her inashi stance. Use this when you feel your opponent will try to poke with small attacks or is desperate to take back the advantage. Your goal should be to get the opponent to respect the power of the inashi which then reduces their attacking options and makes it easier for you to control the momentum.

El Blaze & Eileen

High flying and extremely nimble, El Blaze brings Lucha Libre style wrestling to the world of virtua fighter. He has a large amount of close range strings that can lead to combos as well as a few deceptively long range attacks that can make even the strongest adversaries fearful.

Free Stuff Friday – July 27th, 2012

YouTube Preview Image

On the Block

1. Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Hori stick for PS3

2.  London 2012 t-shirt (size L) and winner’s choice of PS3 or X360 version of the London 2012 Game

3.  London 2012 t-shirt (size L) and winner’s choice of PS3 or X360 version of the London 2012 Game

How it Works

1. You must be following us on Twitter to be eligible. (If you don’t have a Twitter account, you can create one by going to http://www.twitter.com and click the green “get started — join!” button in the center of the page.)

2. At random times on Friday, we will announce the prize we are giving away, a word or phrase, and what number of response you need to be to win. Send us a direct message (DM) via Twitter and be that number to win the prize. (@ replies do not count as entries!) We only accept one direct message per person per prize!

Example:

We tweet “GIVEAWAY: Sonic T-shirt, size L. Be the 15th person to DM “Sonic Adventure” to win!”

You see this, and want to win it, so you send us a direct message that says “Sonic Adventure”. If you are the 15th person to do so, you are the winner!

Quotation marks do not matter, capitalization does not matter, but spelling does matter!

3. All followers are eligible to win all prizes, unless a restriction is noted. Restrictions are usually due to the prize being region-locked. For example, US games that won’t work on UK gaming systems. There may also be age restrictions due to the rating of the game.

4. We will announce the winner on our Twitter feed once eligibility is confirmed.

Other Assorted Information:

  • Free Stuff Friday duties alternate between the London and San Francisco offices and are done during business hours (usually mid-morning) in our respective time zones.
  • No, you can’t know what number message you were – so please don’t ask! We will tell you that the information is classified!
  • If you have questions during the giveaway, please contact us with an @reply. As you can imagine, we get a whole lot of direct messages during the contests and there is a very good chance we will miss your question if it is sent as a DM.

How to Send Direct Messages on Twitter

Due to a change in our account status with Twitter, you should be able to send us direct messages without us following you. However, third-party applications may not allow you to.

There are a few ways to send us a Direct Message on Twitter. The easiest way is:

  1. Log in to your Twitter account.
  2. Click on the person icon and select Direct messages from the drop down menu.
  3. You’ll see a pop up showing your Direct message history. Click the New message button, highlighted below.
  4. In the address box, type the name or username (SEGA) of the person you wish to send a message to.
  5. Enter your message and click Send message.

You may also select the “direct messages” tab from your Twitter homepage, and select SEGA from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Again, if you don’t see our name there, it’s probably because we’re not following you. Let us know, and we’ll follow you. If you still have questions on sending direct messages, please visit Twitter’s Help Section.

There are also many Twitter clients that you can use instead of using the website. These include TweetDeck, Twitteriffic, Tweetie, and Twhirl. Each of these programs works differently, so you’ll want to figure out how to send a direct message on the program you use. If you want to send us a test message, we’ll let you know if we received it or not. Please make sure your message says “test” somewhere.

Spiral Knights: New Danger Mission

Spiral Knights

A new Danger Mission is available now for Spiral Knights — Compound 42!

Danger Missions are a class of Prestige Missions, denoted by a red skull icon next to the mission card: this means they are for skilled players, with a high degree of difficulty. They have greater risk — and greater rewards!

For this mission, the answer … is Compound 42. But what is the question?

WHAT is the mysterious bioweapons facility housed deep within the clockworks? WHO is the sinister member of the Crimson Overlord, identified only as “Herex”? CAN the intrepid Recon Rangers infiltrate and shut down the weapons facility before the deadly toxins are put to use?

Compound 42 is a new Danger Mission, intended for skilled players. It is available in the Prestige Mission section of the Mission interface.

Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown Tutorial Videos

Virtua Figher 5 Final Showdown - Logo

We’ve got a new batch of videos available today to give you and edge on the competition in Virtua Fighter 5 Final Showdown. Our two newest videos feature moves and techniques for Wolf, Jeffry, Lion, and Shun Di, enjoy!

Lion & Shun Di

Harnessing the power of Drunken Kung Fu, Shun Di shows the rest of the VF cast that you’re never too old to fight. His style is tricky and elusive with many odd-looking attacks, and the more he drinks the stronger his attacks become. This last aspect makes Shun unique in the sense that he has the ability to dictate the pace of the round even if he has less energy than the opponent. Even the threat of Shun drinking can alter the opponent’s game.

Wolf & Jeffry

Wolf arguably possesses the best throws in the game and is the only character in Final Showdown with a throw damage of 100 points! Your success is determined by how well you can either throw your opponent or instill the fear of a throw into them. Even experienced players will respect Wolf’s throw game, so be sure to use it to your advantage.
