PlayStation Network Sale for Space Channel 5: Part 2

Space Channel 5 Part 2

Good news for fans of dancing … in space!

We have a PlayStation Network sale for you — Space Channel 5: Part 2 is on sale for 50% off (60% off for Playstation Plus members).  This sale lasts from now until September 11th. In case you are unfamiliar with the zany, rhythm/dance Dreamcast title, here’s a quick Q&A:

Q: Is Space Channel 5, Part 2 the infectiously fun action rhythm game that follows fan-favorite Ulala as she uses the power of dance to fight off the rhythm rogues?

A: Why, yes it is!

Space Channel 5-0002

Q: Why would she fight the Rhythm Rogues? What’d they ever do to her?

A: Glad you asked – the Rhythm Rogues kidnapped Space President Peace, beloved for his policies of non-aggression, along with thousands of other people, and forced them to dance until there is literally no tomorrow.

Q: Wow, that’s messed up. So why did you release part 2 instead of part 1?

A: Because Part 2 has Space Michael, that’s why.

Space Channel 5-0108

Q: Oh wow, that is awesome, and kind of crazy. Wait, I forgot. What’s happening again?

A: Space Channel 5, Part 2! On sale! 50% off on PlayStation Network (60% for PlayStation Plus members)! From now until September 11th!

Q: Dance?

A: Dance!

Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz Gameplay Tips from Producer Jun Tokuhara

fig.1

Hello everyone. And to those who saw me at E3, long time no see! I’m Jun Tokuhara, the producer of Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz. For the next few updates, I’d like to introduce the fun factors of Super Monkey Ball Banana Splitz and tips to play the game.

Let me start from the original concept of the Monkey Ball world.

A time machine has finally been made. However…!?

fig.2

Doctor, a monkey good at making machines, has invented a time machine and the development has finally finished! Above is an image of AiAi trying it out right after the development was completed.

They were supposed to warp into the dinosaur age, however….what they saw instead was a world of tin plate toys, with trees and rocks made of papier-mâché, and dinosaurs moving with spring gimmicks.

Yes – the time machine made by Doctor was actually a toy time machine and that seems to be the reason why they have warped into a world of toys. Travel beyond time, and step into an adventurous journey you have never seen before!

Introduction of the Worlds

World 1 “Tinny Jungle”

fig.3-0

An ancient jungle set in the age of dinosaurs. The world is made of tin plates, and it moves by using spring gimmicks. The level design of the beginner course is somewhat “old style” and you can play the good old stages you may have seen before in the past. In the final stages of the intermediate course and over, a battle against a dinosaur awaits you!
fig.3-1

fig.3-2

fig.3-3

World 2 “Clay Civilization”

fig.4-0

An ancient civilized world with a symbolic giant monkey statue. The texture of the clay seems very realistic, but the floor is made of timber so the ball will roll just fine. lol

fig.4-1

fig.4-2

World 3  “Block Kingdom”

fig.5-0

A middle age kingdom, of swords and magic, formed with wooden blocks.

The world may look cute, but the difficulty is pretty hard!

fig.5-1

fig.5-2

World 4 “Cardboard Canyon”

fig.6-0

An age of Western settlement, but the world is made by cardboard, creating a somewhat warm atmosphere. The final stage requires hard actions such as jumping across running trains. …hey, I have a feeling I’ve seen that monkey on the driver’s seat before?! lol

fig.6-1

fig.6-2

fig.6-3

World 5 “Polygon Galaxy”

fig.7-0

In the future, the world is right in the middle of a space war. The world feels like a good old video game. Unfortunately you won’t be able to control planes, but later on, you will be boarding a mother ship awaiting far away, so be aware!

fig.7-1

fig.7-2

fig.7-3

World ? “Super Monkey Hall”

fig.8-0

This is the interspace of time, during time travel. You won’t be able to play this world from the start, so go for it!  The path to become a Monkey Ball master is long and tough!

Free Stuff Friday – August 24, 2012

Free Stuff Friday August 24th, 2012

On the Block

1. iPhone 4 Case featuring Amy!

2. Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver (11th Doctor) – For all your time traveling needs.

3. London 2012 Official Videogame T-Shirt – Large size only!

How it Works

1. You must be following us on Twitter to be eligible. (If you don’t have a Twitter account, you can create one by going to http://www.twitter.com and click the green “get started — join!” button in the center of the page.)

2. At random times on Friday, we will announce the prize we are giving away, a word or phrase, and what number of response you need to be to win. Send us a direct message (DM) via Twitter and be that number to win the prize. (@ replies do not count as entries!) We only accept one direct message per person per prize!

Example:

We tweet “GIVEAWAY: Sonic T-shirt, size L. Be the 15th person to DM “Sonic Adventure” to win!”

You see this, and want to win it, so you send us a direct message that says “Sonic Adventure”. If you are the 15th person to do so, you are the winner!

Quotation marks do not matter, capitalization does not matter, but spelling does matter!

3. All followers are eligible to win all prizes, unless a restriction is noted. Restrictions are usually due to the prize being region-locked. For example, US games that won’t work on UK gaming systems. There may also be age restrictions due to the rating of the game.

4. We will announce the winner on our Twitter feed once eligibility is confirmed.

Other Assorted Information:

  • Free Stuff Friday duties alternate between the London and San Francisco offices and are done during business hours (usually mid-morning) in our respective time zones.
  • No, you can’t know what number message you were – so please don’t ask! We will tell you that the information is classified!
  • If you have questions during the giveaway, please contact us with an @reply. As you can imagine, we get a whole lot of direct messages during the contests and there is a very good chance we will miss your question if it is sent as a DM.

How to Send Direct Messages on Twitter

Due to a change in our account status with Twitter, you should be able to send us direct messages without us following you if you are using the Twitter website. However, third-party applications may not allow you to.

There are a few ways to send us a Direct Message on Twitter. The easiest way is:

  1. Log in to your Twitter account.
  2. Click on the person icon and select Direct messages from the drop down menu.
  3. You’ll see a pop up showing your Direct message history. Click the New message button, highlighted below.
  4. In the address box, type the name or username (SEGA) of the person you wish to send a message to.
  5. Enter your message and click Send message.

You may also select the “direct messages” tab from your Twitter homepage, and select SEGA from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Again, if you don’t see our name there, it’s probably because we’re not following you. Let us know, and we’ll follow you. If you still have questions on sending direct messages, please visit Twitter’s Help Section.

There are also many Twitter clients that you can use instead of using the website. These include TweetDeck, Twitteriffic, Tweetie, and Twhirl. Each of these programs works differently, so you’ll want to figure out how to send a direct message on the program you use. If you want to send us a test message, we’ll let you know if we received it or not. Please make sure your message says “test” somewhere.

Past experience has shown a promotion such as this one may generate similar submissions which closely resemble concepts and ideas developed by the Promotion Entities whether before, during or after the Promotion. Entrants may see a presentation that seemingly incorporates an idea or concept or includes materials similar to that contained in their entry (e.g., Essay Submission). Any similarity may be purely coincidental and is always unavoidable in light of the volume of ideas that the Promotion Entities routinely consider in the course of their content development. Consequently, the Promotion Entities must and have adopted policies and procedures to protect themselves from potential liability and claims and as part of these Official Rules requires all Entrants to agree (and Entrants do hereby agree) that: (a) the Promotion Entities may use any and all ideas, concepts, material and expression, in whole or in part, submitted or contained in a Promotion entry, or other material you submit, including, without limitation, the Essay Submissions and all copyrights and other intellectual property rights therein anywhere in the world in perpetuity; and (b) all entries and entry materials (including, without limitation, the Essay Submissions) become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.

The rights granted under this paragraph shall extend to Sponsor and its indirect and direct parent companies and their respective affiliated companies with respect to all entries and all other submitted materials related to the Promotion, including those submitted by non-winners and winners.

By submitting an Essay Submission, you grant to Sponsor, its parent and affiliated companies the right, except where prohibited by law, to use your name, likeness, picture, address (city and state), voice, biographical information, the Essay Submission in your entry and written or oral statements, for advertising and promotional purposes in promoting or publicizing Sponsor, its products or services, without compensation unless required by law. You shall have no right of approval, no claim to compensation, and no claim (including, without limitation, claims based on invasion of privacy, defamation, or right of publicity) arising out of any use, blurring, alteration, or use in composite form of your name, picture, likeness, address (city and state), e‑mail address, biographical information, or entry. The rights granted under this paragraph shall extend to Sponsor, its parent, and affiliated companies with respect to all Entrants in the Promotion, including non-winners and winners. Sponsor, however, does not have any obligation to use the winning or non-winning entries for any purpose.

10) Release of Liability and Issues of Law: By participating in the Promotion, all Entrants release Sponsor and its indirect and direct parent companies and their respective affiliates, partners, subsidiaries, officers, directors, agents, employees and all entities associated with the development and execution of this Promotion from any and all liability with respect to and in any way arising from (i) participating in this Promotion, (ii) any injury or damage to an Entrant’s or third person’s computer related to or resulting from the Promotion, and (iii) damage to a user’s computer system (including, without limitation, any server failure or lost, delayed or corrupted data or other malfunction) due, either directly or indirectly, to an Entrant’s participation in the Promotion or downloading of information in connection with the Promotion. The Sponsor reserves the right to modify or cancel the Promotion in the event that any portion of any website used to administer any aspect of the Promotion becomes technically corrupted.

All Federal, state and local laws and regulations are applicable. THE CALIFORNIA COURTS (STATE AND FEDERAL) SHALL HAVE SOLE JURISDICTION OF ANY CONTROVERSIES REGARDING THE PROMOTION AND THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA SHALL GOVERN THE PROMOTION.
