Jet Set Radio is Now Available on XBLA, PSN, and PC!Jet Set Radio is now available for consoles and PC across the US and Europe!
In the urban sprawl of Tokyo-To, gangs of youths known as ‘Rudies’ roam the streets, marking their territories with deft sprays from their graffiti cans. Taking control of Beat, the leader of the GGs, players must tag and grind their way through the city, fighting against rival gangs as well as the local police force. As the GGs recruit more members and gain notoriety, a dark plot begins to emerge involving the shadowy Rokkaku Group and its nefarious owner, Rokkaku Goji. Can Beat, Gum, Tab and the rest of the crew take back Tokyo-To and stop Goji’s evil plans in time? As a Heritage Collection title, Jet Set Radio features bonus content that will delight fans of the series, including fan-contributed graffiti and a documentary that takes a deeper look into the creation of this iconic videogame. “Like all our Heritage Collection titles, Jet Set Radio has been a labor of love for the digital team here at SEGA Networks” said Chris Olson, Vice President of Digital Business at SEGA Networks Co., Ltd. “We’ve aimed to rework Jet Set Radio with the reverence it deserves and we hope the fans enjoy the end result.” Looking forward to seeing everyone’s thoughts on the newest release of Jet Set Radio – let us know in the comments!

Just bought it from Steam, currently installing. I don’t really care about the Metacritic scores, as some reviews seem to forget the game’s price tag. It’s obvious Sega made a real effort here to deliver an HD version worthy of its name, and that alone is enough for me to support them. Hope to see Jet Set Radio Future some day as well!

I love it! Bombastic soundtrack, top graphics, crazy game elements and a lot of fun. A masterpiece! Thanks SEGA!!!
And the documentary was very cool, I hope we will have such bonus stuff even in the future Heritage releases!

Is “Dunny Boy Williamson Show” by Deavid Soul missing from the other versions too, or just the PSN one? You announced it but its completely missing from the game and BGM player.

@Alex Supersonic: He said European Steam price, the price of the PC version. In the blogs it said 6.49€, the game was released at 7.99€. Still a great price though.
I’m really glad that the game supports alot of resolutions, plus it even has an option for Multisample Anti-Aliasing. Also, even though it’s locked at 30fps, it runs smoothly.

I only played the trial version so far, but there’s one question I would like to ask: Is there a way to change the voices of the playable characters and police/Golden Rhino/Rokkaku Gouji into their original Japanese ones? And if not, will you add such an option later on as an update/DLC?

The game is perfect, now we are in the middle untill see a port of Jet Set Radio Future HD for PC/PSN/XBA.
And secound i hope JSRF HD have all musics, that game is 100% illegall and impossible to get off that game. Because that one is more better than this one.

I’ve been (re)playing JSR on the PC (Steam), and the game is still a total blast to play.
It’s a title from an immensely creative period for SEGA (the Dreamcast had such great titles; it’s sad the console didn’t achieve the needed success), and hopefully this “revival” will earn the title some new fans.
Great job with the re-release, it looks lovely with the allowed increased resolution, and the bonus documentary is a nice touch.
It’s something that should be in every future digital re-release of your titles. In the gaming industry, especially for older titles, we rarely get to hear from the people behind a game about the development process and motivations behind their works. I also really enjoyed the (short) interviews included on the X360/PS3 release SEGA Mega Drive: Ultimate Collection (which reminds me, you should consider adding the bonus content on Steam, since none of the digital PC collections of Mega Drive/Genesis titles include any bonuses), and I hope to see more in future re-releases.
Scratch that, SEGA should make a full documentary, with interviews from past and present members of their internal teams.
Anyway, I hope a Jet Set Radio Future re-release is also in the works, and may see the light of day soon.

Hey Sega just curious, what ever happened to the JSR soundtrack? Just disappeared a day or two before the release date… Was really excited for it too.

One question. This game plays the music of Jet Grind Radio or Jet Set Radio?
Extreme release. I hope to have the oportunity to play the JTRF in the same way, so as Shenmue 1 and 2, Nights and please SEGA, a brand new JSR!

So any word about those missing songs? http://www.sega.com/games/jet-set-radio/ Says there are 29/30 songs from the original soundtrack. Yet it’s missing Hideki Naganuma – Yappie Feet, Deavid Soul – Dunny Boy Williamson Show, and O.B. One – Many Styles. Are there two songs missing, or is that page wrong?

I am used to the Jet Set radio from Xbox and thought that that was what I was downloading and was very disappointed to find out that it wasn’t. This version sucks and I just wasted $10 for 10 minutes of disappointment. Thanks Sega.
