SEGA and Gearbox Host New York Comic-con PanelSEGA and Gearbox Software today announced actor Lance Henriksen as a special guest for their New York Comic-Con panel, “Designing the Videogame Sequel to ALIENS – Aliens: Colonial Marines and the challenges of scale and canon.” The panel will take place on Saturday, October 13, 2012 and will give an inside look at the development of Aliens: Colonial Marines. Presenting Gearbox Software’s journey into the ALIENS franchise will be CEO/President Randy Pitchford, Chief Creative Officer Brian Martel, Writer/Chief Creative Champion Mikey Neumann, and Design Director John Mulkey. Golden Globe-nominated actor Lance Henriksen, who portrayed Bishop in ALIENS and reprises the role in the upcoming game, will join the Gearbox team and panel moderator Gary Whitta, Hollywood screenwriter and former Editor-in-Chief of PC Gamer, to discuss his role in the title. Gearbox Software developers and Henriksen will share insights into the exciting journey that developing Aliens: Colonial Marines has been – from diving deep into the ALIENS mythology to updating the legacy and the challenges of telling a new story in a beloved franchise. Panelists will touch upon what it means to create a video game sequel to one of the most talked about cult classics of all time, working with famed futurist Syd Mead, and building upon the iconic films while still staying true to the US Colonial Marines’ spirit.
