Sonic 4: Episode 2 is the Starbucks Pick of the WeekStarbucks have made the iOS version of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 their “Pick of the Week”! What that means is millions of codes will be given away at participating Starbucks, across North America and Canada. All you need to do is go in and grab one of their “pick of the week” cards, which will have details on how to download a free copy of the game.
Here’re the promotion details:

Since this is the more relevant blog post…
I’m utterly disappointed in how you continue to ignore PSN users.
The whole Sonic 4 FIASCO started as a game for HD consoles in the first place, and now it gets the sharp end of the stick all the time.
9 Months later, not a single discount for this on PSN. (While Adventure 2, Jet Set Radio, and Nights have seen an almost 50% discount despite having been released LAST MONTH)
Instead, give away the mobile version with the broken Episode Metal!
I expected better… At LEAST for Thanksgiving.
Good day.

So it was available yesterday, but this post wasn’t made until today. I don’t want to tell you how to do your job, but this is either a typo or someone effed up.

ecchi, your sense of entitlement is saddening. Starbucks are running this promotion, it is highly likely Starbucks will be, pardon the pun, payin’ bucks to Sega for mass copies of the game. Business is business. The Sonic 4 series isn’t too expensive, whilst it is priced at the higher tier, though it is cut from a better cloth than most. I’m sure Sega will reduce the price somewhere along the line, I’m sure Episode 1 had a permanent price reduction on XBLA, this will probably happen with Episode 2 shortly.

The sharp end of the stick are windows phone users. We were suppose to have the ability to play on the go right were we were on the XBLA version. I’m sure most of us have beaten it already making this feature useless when, and if it does still come out……..

Sorry James,
After seeing Mobiles, Steam, and even XBLA getting price cuts, excuuuse me for getting upset at the lack of PSN discount (don’t even get me started on its lack of Sonic3&K altogether)
Short end of the stick… it’s not self-entitlement at all. But whatever, it’s always the affected consumer the one that’s taking crazy pills anyway.
They can get away with the Starbucks deal excuse “this time”… but that still holds no grounds on why XBLA did have one at one point and PSN didn’t.

ecchi, I understand how you feel, but believe me when I say that there is no other company that supports PSN as much as Sega does – you only need look at the blog post above this one to see how many amazing sales they have going on. There are plenty of games to play and sales to take advantage of this time of year, and before long, Sonic 4: Episode 2 will also be on sale.

Alright Henry… I guess you are right.
I did overreact. Maybe Episode II isn’t on their radar too much. I apologize for having such an immature opening blog comment.
This by no means means I’m one bit less of a SEGA fan. I’m always looking out for theirgames.
So again, sorry everyone.
I’m going to go about my own business now, and a happy Thanksgiving to everyone.

I recently went to a star-bucks and asked about the promotion but no one knew anything about it.

I have one of those. The redemption code was “invalid” per Google Play Store. I’m going to try a different one.

@ comment #10. It’s for IOS. if you look closely at the cards they say have the apple app store logo. this is a deal between apple, the app maker and starbucks. Has nothing to do with google or android phones.
