After Burner Climax: Live on the App StoreTake to the skies on the go — the one-of-a-kind arcade action of After Burner Climax is now live on the App Store for iPhone and iPad! Here’s where you can go get the game right now: This is the same AM2-developed arcade game already brought to digital console download, and now – as if you needed proof we were living in the future – on your mobile device. And oh yes: the game is just around the corner for Android. More details available soon! Get Ready! After Burner Climax brings blistering jet fighter arcade action: easy to pick up and play, difficult to master, with tons of customizable settings and game modes. You can blaze through a single game “storyline” in no time, but mastering every path and exploring every level is always what gave the game depth and purpose. The After Burner series was at the heart of SEGA’s arcade heritage in many ways – from the 1987 arcade original to the stunning translation to 8-bits on the Master System, through After Burner Climax and its iterations, this series has always been about combing terrific hardware and technology with fast action, clever tactics, and infectious replayability. The Sky is the LimitGorgeous graphics and smooth, intense gameplay aside, one of the defining features of After Burner has always been the wide range of options. We’re happy to say those have made it to mobile: You can select from the F-14D Super Tomcat by Northrop Grumman, the F-15E Strike Eagle or F/A-18E Super Hornet by Boeing; each plane has four custom paint jobs to choose from. The game also features secret levels, power-ups, and different game modes including Arcade Mode and Score Attack. Returning from the XBLA/PSN version of the game are the EX Options — unlock the power of your arsenal and other power-ups such as unlimited lives and continues, auto lock-on and persistent Climax Mode. The game will even feature leaderboards – test your mettle against pilots the world over, because there are, as they say, no points for second best when you’re in the danger zone. iOS FeaturesIn addition to bringing the arcade action and options to the App Store, there are additional iOS features we’ve added:

Android too eh? But you said that about Crazy Taxi last October and I’m still waiting for it on Android! Doubt my Xperia PLAY will be enough to run After Burner Climax though.
Can you get After Burner Climax ported to the PC too by any chance? It’d go nicely alongside Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast!

Could not agree more with VirtuaIceMan. I doubt a Lindbergh game will run too well on my Xperia Play but I’m also still waiting for a Crazy Taxi port and would love this game on the PC while also loving Coast2Coast. Repetitive, yes, but damn did he nail it.
