What no free for all in aliens colonial marines ?
Just variations on a team death match theme
I’m getting my money back and my brothers Pete & Moss won’t be buying it either .
Why are developers limiting consumer/player choice ?
Same goes for Far Cry 3
Shame!

Aliens: CM is a team based Mulitplayer game, we do have a Team Deathmatch option for those that want something light on objectives, but it still plays out with a group of Marines and a group of Aliens.

Didn’t mean to be harsh and in many ways it’s a great game for e.g. the attention to detail on the Alien is terrific.
Still though the following would get some old school free for all DOOM 2, Far Cry 2 and Vietcong players on board and buy the thing:
“Alien player, Last surviving C.M. player and Weyland-Yutani Merc player fighting each other i.e. Every man, woman and xenomorph for himself!”
Some of us are sick of Mod Warfarin 6 and a half but when it comes to the antisocial business of shooting people albeit in fantasy – Not everyone wants to play in a team.

I’ve heard… a lot of bad things and frankly it’s turned me off the game.
Which is absolutely heartbreaking, because I’ve been waiting for this game for years.
Is Sega planning on continuing with Aliens games if this doesn’t do well? I mean… it IS a lucrative franchise. And in the case of this game, bad word of mouth is spreading fast.
I wish Sega’d tap Obsidian to do the Alien RPG again. They should never have scrapped that.

This is a terrible game, I can’t understand how any dev/publisher would be happy with the state of release.

This game is terrible, the fact that you are forced to play the co op version of the game 4 player only, you cannot play the game 2 player co op like it says on the case. This for me was a really important part of the game as my friend and i always like to go through co op games together as a challenge. This game is the only co op game i know of that forces you to play 4 player co op, and every time I have entered a co op session my friend and I have been teamed up with complete idiots. Also when you stop to check out the level graphics, which don’t exactly blow you away, you are dragged through the level to the point where the other players have advanced too. I am totally gutted about this game, it promised so much and delivered nothing, I waited years for this title and it was a total let down, we spent an hour or so playing it, got bored and went to play borderlands 2, a great co op game. Do yourselves a favor and wait till this game comes down to a tenner, even then it wont be worth it, I want my money back

A con job. Check out the comparison of the marketing ‘gameplay’ videoss and the actual released product. Then make your own mind up. A clear bate and switch on the consumers. Avoid forking out for this mess and read the reviews.

Put the blame where it belongs, guys. Gearbox is the one that screwed the pooch here, Sega just published it. Sega let them go for seven years to make this game and they outsourced it to worry about Borderlands 2 instead of the game they lobbied to get to make. There is no excuse; Gearbox ****ed up, no matter how they want to spin it. Seven. ****ing. Years.

I have one question:
When release Sega/Gearbox the 8 GIG PATCH ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
when u buy it over steam u download 5.5 GiG, but when u read the requirements u need 20 GIG of free harddiskspace……and the patch is bigger as my game ?!?!?!?!

You should be ashamed for this game you and gearbox for releasing one of the worst game ever made and more an Alien game!
Also gearbox lied to us the whole time by putting fake screenshots and game videos, videos that have nothing with the final release, hell the final release its so ugly that you would say that the developer demos where nothing more than CGI. You and gearbox will go down in history for this the first time ever the developer delivers a completely different game that promised and shown, a catastrophic stain in game industry.
So no thanks, the critics tell the story, i hope u get some nice lawsuits from the people who bought it, 6 years for a game like this, the lies, the horrible game play.. goodbye sega

This is very concerning. This is not the Sega that 12 years ago everyone envisioned would compete with EA to be the top publisher. This, coupled with the announcement to focus on digital software has me worried. The company seems to be shrinking and fast. It’s just a matter of time before it goes the way of Atari.

You have to blame Sega first and foremost. It’s their license and their project. If they were serious about putting out a quality product they would not have had Gearbox outsource the project and put their game in the backburner. Gearbox definatly dropped the ball on this one and probably didn’t live up to their end of the bargain. Hopefully this game has good sales and Sega learned a lesson.

Hmmm…AVP 2 might be a consideration on next-gen. That template was better and had more successful points to build on. I went back after beating Marines and downloaded the Bug Hunt DLC and felt more tension in the survival maps than in the entire campaign of Marines. It was truer to the feel of Aliens. I think Rebellion would love to make it their stand out hit.
I look forward to the Creative Assembly Alien title that seems more like ‘Deadspace” and hopefully the quality will be behind it. Also, if another first person title is coming, and I wouldn’t mind one, perhaps build it in house with Relic. Or get a developer less keen on siphoning away resources. Perhaps Crytek? I think Starbreeze could be awesome as well.
Anyway, Yakuza 5…I want it.

I had waited for this game for so long and expected the most exhilarating game that had been released to be worthy of the Alien franchise. Everything was looking great, screenshots promised breathtaking graphics and video promised the same. WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED??? I waited years for the game that was boasted as the follow on to James Cameron’s movie and would be the way forward for the franchise, but what we got felt rushed and pieced together. The graphics were below par for a game of today’s expectations with the character voice syncing and animation just all over the place. I felt like I was watching a poorly dubbed movie! There was no suspense or terror to be felt which was so severely disappointing considering the nature of the game and what was to be expected from this franchise. The sound of weapons whilst accurate just had no depth. When I fired the pulse rifle for the first time I almost cried at how disappointing it felt and sounded, I won’t even bother mentioning the accuracy of the weapons as I felt I would have been better throwing rocks. Overall the screenshots & video previews we had all seen of the game were obviously for some other game as I didn’t notice any correlation to them and what you released, which is a shame as you have probably dissatisfied so many fans of the Alien franchise.
I personally felt robbed of my money after waiting so long and having it pre ordered at my store. I wish I had ordered the edition with the statue now so at least I would have felt that I had got something decent out of it all.
From a disheartened alien fan.

all these complaints and still sega and gearbox refuse to comment should sega be doing something about what happend or shouldnt sega have delayed it for a couple of months to see if the game could be salvaged this game has soo many bugs and glitches bad AI and dull as hell graphics where is the game that was advertised we would be buying instead we end up with a game that can be finished in under 7 hours with missing levels.the day 1 patch has only fixed minor problems we need a major update to sort things out properly i think we have payed full price for a game and just got a demo.what the hell happend scince E3 2012 where did all the awsome looking work go.where is clumsy orchid when we need him atleast he use to answer us

Requested a refund from Steam – they said no
Request a refund from Gearbox, they sent me to Sega
Requested a refund from Sega – they said “As the publisher we are unable to provide direct refunds. Providing refunds is at the discretion of the retailer. You will need to request a refund from the retailer you purchased the game from.”
Run around and no one taking any responsibility for this piece of garbage.
