Sonic Generations of Skate Recap

Sonic Generations of Skate 2013

It was a beautiful, not-too-hot, Saturday at the Clairemont Skate Park in San Diego, California as we gathered for Sonic Generations of Skate 2013. We were excited and proud to be part of the Clash at Clairemont and helping to raise money for Grind for Life, a charity that helps people battling with cancer.

As the athletes checked in for the competition, we were happy to provide them gift bags to thank them for participating. We had some fantastic sponsors that helped us out with this — American Giant, New Era, Bazooka Candy, Skullcandy

And of course, Sonic himself was there to cheer all the skaters on. After some warm up skating and some friendly handshakes, the competition was on.

The skaters were divided into teams of three, each team having one person from each “generation” — in their 40s, 30s, and 20s or younger. The teams performed individual tricks and stunts, as well as group runs.

For the second time in a row, the winning team was Tony Hawk, Andy MacDonald, and Mitchie Brusco. Sonic was happy to pose for photos with the winners and their Sonic Lost World trophies.

But of course, there was one more thing we had to do before we left San Diego — and that’s slide down the half pipe. Once the event was over, Sonic Lost World brand managers Judy and Aaron (known to many of you as RubyEclipse) were brave enough to take a wild ride down the half pipe. You can see what happened on the Vine video.

Thanks to everyone who came to the event, and we’ll see you next time!

Today we are proud to announce that the Company of Heroes 2 Open Beta is now live, and can be downloaded and played through Steam!

In a letter to the community, game producer Greg Wilson writes, “We’ve added new match-making servers, implemented a significant amount of Closed Beta feedback and fixed more bugs, compatibility and performance issues than I can count. The team will continue to read comments and feedback in our official forums and participate in regular playtests with the community. We’ll be patching the beta frequently and getting into a good rhythm for our post launch support cycle. Please keep the comments and suggestions coming – we do care and are listening!”

Be sure to head over to the official forums to read the full letter to the community from Greg Wilson to learn everything about the Open Beta, in addition to some exciting new details on things like level progression.  See you on the Eastern Front!
