Good stuff, but SEGA, i am still waiting for ps3/x360 games. Basically what you have now is Castle of Illusion, which i already played the original version on my Genesis and Miku, which, despite what Ruby have been saying, is not what the 90% of the SEGA fanbase was expecting.
I know SEGA Japan is the one taking the decisions and of course they don’t read this blog and they also don’t care for their western fanbase, but i know some of you guys also give suggestions, so once in a while i am leaving my rants here. Don’t forget your fans, SEGA.
PS: Just to make sure, if you are reading this and you a nintendo fanboy and wants to write an answer to me, i am not gonna read. Your opinion does not matter to me.

While I am very excited to see Sonic the Hedgehog in 3D for the 3DS, I am a little confused as to why this isn’t the “enhanced” version with widescreen display and Tails and Knuckles as playable characters that was released recently on telephones. It seems that that version is the better one.

SEGA Could you please answer….
– 3D Altered Beast – Why is this the Mega Drive/Genesis version and not the ‘arcade’ version like your other 3DS titles – 3D Galaxy Force II, 3D Space Harrier and 3D Super Hang-On?
It just doesn’t make any sense…

I’m pleased to hear it. I hope 3DS Mega Drive VC follows for games that don’t get the 3D treatment.

Finally what I was most excited about 3D games, 2D games with 3D scrolling!! full collection buy for me, I hope Sega of Japan develops some more titles (Thunder Force would be awesome, but the old games were made by Technosoft so I doubt it…)

Ok so where are the SEGA Vintage Collection : Streets of Rage for PS3?
And when will SEGA produce a new Streets of Rage game instead of constantly rereleasing the older games and halt fangames that are nothing than tributes to SEGA?

I was actually born during the Dreamcast’s run of games, but I can’t wait for Ecco the Dolphin and (of course) Sonic the Hedgehog. I’ve always admired the original Sonic for how well it played (and how he just ran fast – no confusing plots or annoying sidekicks (well, Tails and Knuckles are okay, but there was really no need for most of the others))! I Can’t wait to play these!

To whom this may concern,
You guys seem to bring certain games to the Wii U and 3DS, while others are totally disregarded.
You are bringing Yakuza 1 & 2 to the Wii U in JP, and I have yet to hear that such will be released in the US & EU, which is BS considering the fact that we play games too. I want some depth from Sega on US platforms, I don’t mind playing Sonic All Stars Racing on the 3DS (the game that you released on nearly all platforms)… but i’d rather play Phantasy Star Online (like the Vita has), but nope you didn’t give us that. I hope you consider it on the 3DS & Wii U (or a new installment), allowing both to play online together. I played Phantasy Star Online games faithfully with my best friend, who died in 2011. I still have my Dreamcast version, Gamecube versions (including episode 3 C.A.R.D. Revolution), PSP version, and the versions on the PS2 where we paid monthly fees to enjoy the action and interaction with others.
Shenmue 1 & 2 HD can be released on the Wii U, you could get Nintendo’s help with such development and their investment and man hours could gain exclusivity for the console in addition to Shenmue 3 a few years afterward. I’d buy a Wii U to have it, because I love Shenmue and I still have my version on the Dreamcast, which is in mint condition… I was mad when part 2 didn’t come to the US though many people wanted it.
I was honestly looking forward to Sonic Adventure 3 over Sonic Lost World, which reminds me of this old Sonic game that was never released. I can’t underestimate Lost World since I have yet to play it, but I want depth and a sense of adventure.
Please bring us depth, the lack luster titles that you can simply breeze through, are not something to rejoice over. Jet Grind Radio games should be released on the Wii U, as well as a Crazy Taxi game that brings various cities into one package with all of the taxi drivers from the past versions, as well as new ones, and there could be online leader-boards to crank up the replay value.
You have various great games that can be brought to Nintendo. You are one of the companies that is almost close to first party on the Nintendo, because of your past collaborations, and I wish you would take advantage of that more.
I applaud you for releasing other games, but it doesn’t mean that I don’t want to you to release other great games on these platforms for me to BUY. Do we need to do a petition, or support some type of freaking kickstarter on the Sega website? Let us know!!!

Nintendo-Demand: Thanks for the long & thoughtful response! We do appreciate the feedback. I should say upfront I cannot respond to any requests or inquiries about games that haven’t been announced or discussed. I can say that positive enthusiasm means a lot to us and I’m glad to hear both the games you’re interested in and especially your experiences playing them — I know firsthand PSO and PSU had great communities supporting them for a long time, and have heard all the great ways those game brought friends together. It’s good to see what fans are interested in (and we do see) and we hope that as these classic games come out and we get dialogue and feedback on them, we can continue to release games — new , old, and new versions of the classic — that are compelling for fans.

I’m really looking forward to the release of these 3D classics. I played the 3D version of Space Harrier on a friends import 3DS XL and it’s a brilliant arcade port and an excellent use of 3D.
On a general note I really do hope that Sega gets their mojo back. Recent announcements do seem to be pointing towards a more balanced portfolio of releases (The localisation of Hatsune Miku is massively encouraging), but there is still a long way to go before we get back to the quality and quantity of in-house developed output that we enjoyed in the Dreamcast era.

I find it interesting that they are releasing Genesis games for the 3DS. It seems like the 16bit console games are being withheld from the 3DS, even though Ocarina of Time and Starfox were originally N64 titles. Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a boggling omission, despite the soon to be released Link Between Worlds. Of course it’s available for Wii VC. So having 3D rendered Genesis titles feels just way too good to be true.
