Global Challenge Debuts for Sonic Dash: Unlock Shadow the Hedgehog for Free!
Get ready for the ultimate challenge and unlock Shadow the Hedgehog for free! Today marks the start of the first Sonic Dash global challenge. But what does this involve and how can you take part? Well most importantly it’s about challenging you, the Sonic Dash community, to work together to accomplish something monumental that you couldn’t do alone. You are being tasked to work together and run 100 laps around the world (or 2,490,100.55 miles for those counting!). Now that might sound tiring, but all you need to do is boot up Sonic Dash and contribute by making as many runs as you can, and run as far as you can. Everyone’s cumulative distance will contribute towards this mammoth target and it’s going to take everybody working together to successfully complete the challenge in time. You can find the very stylish progress screen seen in the artwork above, by navigating to the ‘Goals’ section on the main menu of Sonic Dash. This will be the place to see how much distance has been covered and give the inspiration you need to make one more run! This target needs to be reached by August 5th or you’ll miss out on all the prizes that will be rewarded along the way and most importantly the grand prize at the end of the challenge. That’s right if the goal is reached in time, everyone who has contributed will be gifted Shadow the Hedgehog as a playable character for free! Anyone who didn’t will unfortunately miss out on this very special reward, so make sure you get dashing and see how far you can run! Sonic Dash is a free to play infinite running title, created exclusively for mobile platforms by Sega’s internal studio Hardlight. Chris Southall, Hardlight’s studio head, had this to say about the newest addition to the game: “The reaction to Sonic Dash has been epic and we wanted to do something to engage and reward the community as a whole. The result is the Sonic Dash Global Challenge! It’s a chance for everyone to work together to win some cool prizes. That’s great and all but was hoping to see Sonic Dash in the Google Play store. It’s been quite a while and I’ve searched for it frequent enough in the Play store for my Nexus 7. I’m certain ya’ll said it would be coming to android devices, but still hasn’t happened yet.

Earth is kind of an ellipsoid though, right? Does the game show the distance around Earth? Knowing Sonic, he’s probable running around the long way.
My girlfriend has the game on her iPad so I told her to start running on her homework break!

The characters models look terrible on my iPad, before Sonic looked like he jumped right out of Generations now he looks far less detailed like he came out of a PS2 game.

WOW, this is a relief – The Kid thought she had to run 100 laps all by herself! She’s already 10 in!

For everyone asking if all youneed to do is run and play the game, the answer is yes. Just keep playing, run as far as you possibly can until you stop. Than start again. That’s all you need to do and you have taken part in the challenge. I’m trying my hardest cause Shadow is my favorite charavter in Sonic so I really want to unlock him. No sign up, just download it on your iPhone, iPad or iPod and help us all out plzzz ^.^

If we fail to get to a hundred laps (and success is looking less and less likely considering we have gained a total of 1 lap today), will Shadow be available at a later date for red star rings?

I have been playing Sonic Dash for sometime and I have been contributing to the Gobal Challenge. I see that it reached 100 but I don’t have Shadow. My friend who only started playing a week ago has him… Not fair!! Did I fall out of the radar and got excluded due to some glitch in the game? Any help??

I think I found the solution, guys! My personal contribution wasn’t filling up, either. So, I signed in using Google, and it started working properly. Everyone sign in with Google, if you can! Let’s get Silver the hedgehog.

When are you going to put shadow as a unlockable player on android because the game wasn’t on android this on iPad. I think you should put unlockable characters on android to be fair for android decrees.
